The review I left on Expedia: Great room and location. We had the superior room with a canal view. We were on the 4th floor facing onto the quieter canal at the back. The room was a good size, large bed. Free wifi with a strong signal in the room. The hotel is right in the middle of the action with easy walking distance to much of the city centre. The hotel itself is beautiful, and there is a daily historical tour of the grounds. We didn’t try the restaurant for breakfast because they don’t offer an a la carte menu - a bit disappointing, but plenty of breakfast options nearby. Wonderful service overall - we enjoyed the bottle of champagne greeting, as we were celebrating our 10th anniversary on this trip to the Netherlands. Concierge team was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and taxi call. We would definitely stay here again.

« perfect hotel - one little issue with teh bed »

great hotel, one of the best i've ever been! location, rooms, food, SERVICE are all fantastic. The one little issue was the extra soft layer put on my bed - it was well intended, but i can't sleep on soft beds and i only discovered that it can be removed on the morning of my checkout...:/ I didn't sleep much.

From check in to check out I was greeted well by the staff, the service was great. The hotel was full of life and character and I found my room to be quite soothing with a very nice ambient atmosphere. What a fabulous hotel! We stayed at the Sofitel for two nights just a few weeks ago. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the staff is extremely helpful. The location could not have been better, as the hotel is in the city but on a quiet street. We walked to many of the sites in the city, but were not bothered by street noise at night. The concierge gave our party of eight great recommendations for things to do during the day and for places to eat at night, made dinner reservations, purchased museum tickets, and booked cabs. We absolutely loved our experience at the Sofitel!

When we arrived the hotel staff was welcoming and explained our room was ready which we appreciated more than we can express given our overnight flight. The concierge staff was exceptional in their recommendations for restaurants and obtaining museum tickets. Extremely helpful and cordial. Location was convenient, staff was understanding about language, I wish that you had contacted us about the repairs on the clothing I had left for laundry. mywife did not think they were necessary. On the other hand the staff helped me since I had left clothing behind and the staff said they would mail back to me in the US- quite extraordinary. I do not like cigarettes so I did not like walking past the “Green house” to get toDam square
