Overall it was a wonderful experience, the staff were pleasant, helpful and always available. We felt like VIP guests just about everywhere in the hotel, and enjoyed the various conversations with many staff members. The hotel location is exceptionally good, although many taxis had a hard time getting to the gate at times, and we're able to walk around the city, and come back when we needed to. The one exception might have been housekeeping. We felt that attention to detail was somewhat lacking here. Coffee capsules were never replenished, and we had to call for additional capsules almost daily. It's disappointing to see the glass shelf above the fridge never wiped down and therefore you can see all the dust. Bathroom amenities weren't always checked to see if we needed more. While we had booked a Junior Suite based on the pictures online, we were a little disappointed in the room we got. It was a suite, but the layout was not ideal, there was very little storage space and the bathroom was not at all as indicated in the pictures for that category. We know that rooms can differ and not every room is identical, especially in such a historical building, but we were expecting something else. There were no double sinks as shown in the pics, the narrow walkway to the bathroom was a surprise, and the tiny closet in the corner was not ideal for a 4-night stay within fall clothing.

The arrival at the hotel was stunning. Located in the city centre and driving into a patio was stunning. The check-in was okay, but the staff was more focused on private chats than on the guest. Rooming with the Butler was great. However, the room was not properly checked. Not sufficient guest amenities (shower gel, slippers, etc.) for the number of guests staying. The Spa/Pool was a little messy, no staff at the reception. Guest bills lying around (data?) and the pool slightly flooded. The restaurant Bridges was outstanding superb service for a very reasonable price. The highlight of the trip was the bar, best bartender I've seen so far. All in all a good product with some room for improvement.

This is the second time we've stayed here - and the second time visiting the city. I normally would stay in another hotel for variety and to compare, as well as to be in a different part of the city.
