« Outstanding to the exception of the breakfast (that was a real disaster for such hotel level) »

Outstanding part of the experience: we have been nicely upgraded, received Champagne for our wedding anniversary, very nice welcome, personalized visit, good take care of the car... Negative part: we wanted a dinner at the restaurant, but not much was done to find us a table as it was apparently fully booked. But the worst experience was the Breakfast. we actually wanted to give our feedback to the GM, because it's an issue for the standing of his outstanding hotel. you should give him my email address Ch… what are the issues? 1) a room manager who is more a bistrot chief than a room manager for such hotel (shouting, speaking loud, not elegant in his approach at all). 2) a table in the middle of all guests table (I have a photo) where all waiters put all garbage with noise of plates and all dirty plates left there for 10-15 min... really disgusting. 3) one waiter broke a bottle on the floor in the middle of tables. waiters looked at each other like "it's not my job to clean", so it took 10 min that one decides to clean, meanwhile we were walking on broken glass. 4) not enough, once cleaned almost, they left the plastic bin with the broken glass in the middle of the room (I have the photo). 5) waiters are not very stylish for most of them. 6) at 9:30am some of the food stuff were already missing and not replaced. very negative picture. our conclusion was: why did we stay here to have breakfast... some very good places in Amsterdam for brunch... bottom-line: the breakfast experience looked more like having a meal in the train station café, and for sure people and waiters are not of the level of such an outstanding hotel. Our stay remains a great pleasure, but....

Overall very good - but service was slow. Housekeeping had to be asked 3 times to provide additional Body Lotion. Omelette at Breakfast took an average of 15-20 minutes every morning! Inspite of saying that i was in a hurry.. Etc.

Super service, perfect rooms and decorations, location fantastic. I liked the thick carpets and all the amenities. And the business service were great and efficient. On another note I missed the coffee to be filled up (and the milk) + 2 days I did not get the newspaper. It is only small details which could be improved, but probably only due to mistake. The 'gym' wasn't to much use, so I bought a week pass at TrainMore which is only a short walk away. That was fine with me. When I return to A-dam I will stay at you again. I travel a lot, and the comfort of the rooms and your service, I rank it in Top 5 of all hotels I have stayed in worldwide.

We stayed at The Grand for 3 nights and had a wonderful stay. Breakfast was fabulous. Make sure to order the 'french toast' - absolutely delicious. Rooms are extremely comfortable and perfect for a relaxed stay. The level of service is extremely high with great attention to detail. Your staff are a credit to the company. We were very pleased with the Grand Amsterdam. The room was spacious, and holiday decorations were wonderful, and the staff was very attentive. Excellent stay and facilities. The food service was very good. The staff superb. The one drawback is the size of a junior suite, it was slightly smaller than what I expected in a junior suite.
