I was unexpectedly displaced from my home and the Sofitel (thanks to Julia) made me feel so much better. The room was quiet, the staff was pleasant, and my few requests were accommodated quickly.

Very disappointing! I have stayed at this location many times over the years. I have always returned and always recommended this location to friends and colleagues. We had three rooms this stay and all very dissatisfied.

« Staff lovely room very poor »

The staff (especially the lady who checked me in), were what made my stay with you good. The room was awful, on moving the Reading light it came off in my hand and dangled by the wires. I carefully threaded it back into a secure position. The tv didn’t change from the promo channel so we had to go to a friends room to rent a movie. The bathroom was very tired with tiles cracked and removed from around the bottom of the shower area. It didn’t even really feel clean. I stay at Sofitel a lot in nyc, if Philadelphia had been my first Sofitel experience I don’t think I’d choose one again.

« Best Hotel Experience in Philadelphia »

Our recent stay was terrific. I don't believe anything could be improved though only once they could have used more that two at the front desk. Rooms were new, clean and staff were so responsive and kind. Food was very good throughout. Can't say enough good things about our stay. We will start trying more Sofitels in our other ventures.

I had great stay at Sofitel. The staff was very responsive and pleasant to interact with. The staff did a great job with our requests of bringing extra blankets, changing the sheets on the sofa bed, etc . The location was very convenient.

« Hotel is Tired and Needs Updating; Service Level Very Low »

I stayed at the Sofitel back in 2007, again in 2015, and most recently last weekend in May 2018. I can truly say that this hotel has not changed one iota since I first stayed there. The location is great and very central to dining, shopping etc. in Center City Philadelphia, but the hotel is extremely tired and needs a major update. It feels dark and dingy and old. Staff barely acknowledged our presence walking into and out of the lobby multiple times. The doorman never offered to help us find a cab (although I guess maybe it's a function of how many people choose Uber nowadays.) Another guest cut in front of me at checkout right in front of the desk staff who watched the entire situation happen and he said nothing. Only when another guest behind me told the offender that she was out of line did she back up and let me go. The entire operation feels like it's on cruise control not much effort is expended on hospitality.

Great location BUT Serious neglect and deterioration has taken place The entire hotel badly needs deep cleaning and refurbishment. The hallways have not been vacuumed in a very long time. Furniture in rooms and lobby area horribly beat up corners everywhere filthy. This all should be very obvious to management.

I was very impressed with the staff at the hotel, very kind and attentive but never intrusive. Every time I walked up with the stroller, the side door was always open for me! The room decor was slightly dated, but we would happily stay again due to the care of the staff. Oh, and the comfy beds! Thank you!

« A little disappointing »

Great location and rooms are spacious and clean - however, the whole hotel is very dated and in need of updating. The tiny windows are strange. The plumbing issues need adddressing - the shower backs up within a minute so your standing in three inches of water just before it floods the rest of the bathroom...the hotel is fine, it just doesn’t measure up to a 4.5 star hotel.
