A very good welcome by pleasant staff who acknowledged my Accor status. A great suite with modern amenities and superb view. Ability to work without distractions.

« Stay was mostly comfortable but ocul dbe improved »

very pleasant check in and staff. Frustrating that my room service breakfast was late twice, and I only ordered it twice! both times I ordered it I had to call and ask for it as it hadn't arrived in the time window stipulated. The second occasion, I ordered muesli and received a knife and fork to eat it with. Given I was already late, I didn't have time to call again and ask for a spoon. My room key stopped working a day before I had to check out - no big issue but very frustrating given how busy the one lift was, to go back down and ask for a new one! why couldn't the staff/goods lift be utilised in peak times during the other lift outage? otherwise my room was clean and tidy - all staff were very friendly and willing to help.

Comfortable bed. Breakfast was late but this was the day of the storm so I think it impacted staffing so that was understandable. Room was cofmfortable but very dated and the milk in the fridge was frozen and not able to be used for a cup of tea.

Took an hour to check in and get to the room. The hotel would have known they were fully booked and should have had appropriate staff levels to handle check in time accordingly. Access to only one lift (one out of service, and no direct access to car park) meant extremely long waits for the lift at all times throughout the stay. Not good enough for the $350+ for one night!! Room request not fulfilled. Room very small compared to others with two double beds. Very disappointing all round.

This ist first time staying with Novotel, price is not low, customer care was good, but the hotel doesn’t have any facilities (eg gym, pool, kids playground ect). Also had to pay car parking for $45/day because there’s no parking available on the street

Clean room, great customer service and great location. Buffet breakfast was amazing. Only downfall was bar closed really early and nothing to do in the area at night.

Frustrated by the wait time due to a lift not operating It appears that the bar does not open after large shows unless specifically requested. Patrons appeared disgruntled by this on Friday evening

« novotel seemed to be very short staffed at meals, & should have anticipated the heavy demand, given bookings for Scfhools Spectacular. »

Staff clearly did their utmost to serve and clear tables - full marks to them all. Delays with lifts were also a big problem but guests all in a happy mood did much to soften that hiccup

« Ok, not the best night sleep »

The rooms are very noisy with wind noise whistling through windows that don't seal properly. Only 1 elevator in operation which caused 10 min wait times to get up and down. On arrival my booking was not in the system which caused stress for me.

« The room was good and the view satisfying. »

The facilities were acceptable but there was congestion at times around breakfast and the lift, which made the wait a little longer than I would have liked for this type of hotel. The staff were exceptional and tried to make things easy and comfortable. Some staff went out of there way to help especially during the day and at the bar.

« Arrival was confusing, Reception staff were less than helpful, services not provided. »

Parking was confusing due to limited signage, getting up to reception even more so, reception staff were remote and "economic" with assistance and information, eg finding the right lift to get to Level 15 was a challenge for tired and weary travellers having just driven from interstate. eg advising parking procedures resulting in a charges dispute at book-out. Breakfast was good, but evening menu did not suit us and your waiter suggested an alternative restaurant, which was fine. We came back to the hotel restaurant for coffee - couldn't get one. It's the little things that make the difference , so we were disappointed in our stay.

Room was fine, though had problems with bathroom light, and the howling wind through the doors and windows. Lift access was a constant issue and there were issues with the roller door to the carpark.

« Close to venue & comfortable but expensive & hotel deteriorating »

On check in we were told they could upgrade us to king size room. I explained that I wanted the 2 dbl bed room I had booked. Staff said she thought the last dbl bed room was already taken. I booked many months earlier. Had to wait while housekeeping inspected our room. Dbl bed room was smaller than we had on prev occasions. Almost felt as though they squeezed 2 dbl beds into a twin room. Toilet continuously ran after flushing. 1 lift not working due to upgrade. Very inconvenient on such a busy weekend with 2 major events on. Had to wait 5 times for enough room to fit in lift. Hotel has deteroriated badly in 12 mths on exterior & interior. Very expensive compared to other hotels in SOP. Have stayed here on 4 occasions due to close proximity to venue but otherwise losing its appeal. Room service & restaurant dinner was good. Buffet breakfast ok but coffee machine leaking.

« Great staff. Awful lift delays. »

Great staff - very helpful. Lift delays were unacceptable. Work was only completed for a few hours each day rather than 24/7 to allow completion of repairs prior to school spectacular event. Service lift was not adequately utilised. Stairs were not clearly marked.
