THis is not the standard that Ibis Budget has in the rest of Germany. The room wae not cleaned properly the paint on the wall was not done within a few years. The hall was only cleaned in the middle, along the walls the blue carpet was brown, absolut not a nice stay. Ibis does it much better!!

The room was not cleaned properly, the floor was not vacuum Cleaned, leftover was on the floor from the last residents. Hall way was not cleaned, the vacuum cleaner has only been running on the middle of the carpet. Damages to the wall was not removed (cleaning personal has hit the trolley to the door for housekeeping) The room was in need of urgent paint, the wall was marked with black stripes. Breakfast was ok, but the fact of cleaning I had my concerns…. This was not the standard I am used to when I have visited other Ibis budget hotels all over Germany, they are much better.

Nice place - recommend

Got into the room and left the same minute. Not exactly how it looks on the pictures. Wouldn’t be able to spent the night.

Good place to stay!

The reception guy complained that we should have booked an extra room. (Because we have a baby?!) . This is cold-hearted after a difficult 8 hour drive. AccorHotel's booking system didn't let me book for a 0 year-old baby! It only accepted 1 year and up even though the "0" was available in the pop-up menu. The room lacked everything: no toilet seat, no small light next to the bed, a baby bed was unavailable. I requested a baby bed bye-mail and wasn't notified that it was unavailable. Terrible! It was impossible to buy something to eat. There was a venting machine, but it was almost empty (and venting machine doesn't serve warm pizza). This isn't a budget hotel. This is hell.

Just acceptable

Booked 1 room for 3 persons, 1 of them was a kid. According to the search function on website i came to that room. Cheap, only 48 euro, but good enough for just 1 night arriving late, leaving early. On arrival the kid wasnt allowed with us in the room, he was too old. I checked the website afterwards and thats was indeed allowed till 12. No other option than to take another room (84 total now) and not be together in 1 room. 1 room was ok, the other room smelled horrible from the bathroom (gutter smell, very strong) only possible to sleep with window open and not use the bathroom. Staff was friendly/ok. In the end i could better have find a b&b or other hotel... this ibis budget was meant as a cheap sleepoverplace, but for 84 or a bit more i could have find a better place than a cheap motel with stinky room on a industrie park without breakfast or any other service than a bed in a room...

Receptionist was very friendly and helpful. I was very disappointed with the state of the room. The wall was very dirty, only 2 pillows provided for 3 people, lots of dust on the top of th beds frame. No tea facilities. I understand that the price is very competitive but we have stayed before in other Ibis budget and was in much better state. I am afraid we rather pay a bit more for normal conditions.

All went well when it comes to reservation , bedding was clean as bed comfortable enough, quiet night and it did what it supposed to do but! , some cobwebs and dripping water in toilet bowl was a bit irritating, actually the hole strange plastic toilet/sower qubicale was surprising and I understand that it was designed to be easy to maintain (cleaning) and using some descailer could be beneficial. I was travelling alone and I can deal with lover standard but wouldn’t take my family there as my wife wouldn’t like it for sure. It was cheap and breakfast was ok. Would I stay again? Well I will look for something slightly better if not other choice the yes I suppose

Don't take rooms on ground floor

MarkovicMilos Business - 02/11/2018 TripAdvisor review

On a business trip I stopped for one night at Ibis Budget at Magdeburg Barleben. I thought "I am leaving early in the morning, so for one night anything will do". That's what I thought, but in reality:Hotel entrance where the check-in kiosk is located reeked of stale tobacco smoke. It's obviously not covered by smoke detectors, so when it's cold outside people smoke in there. That was my first impression, and subsequent ones weren't better. Room was clean like in most Ibis Budget hotels. Sheets were clean. That was ok. Marks on the walls from baggage being pulled around are not unusual in these small rooms, and there were plenty in my room too. No disappointment there. I used Ibis Budget in Stuttgart (former Etap) several times, and it had that I.B. signature top-to-bottom-plastic shower cabin, but it was separate from the toilet. In this one, toilet and shower cabin are in the same space and are separated only by a narrow "wall" that doesn't prevent water from going from the shower are to the floor of the toilet. Problem was obviously known to the management so they equipped the toilet with a rubber window scraper - presumably so that I can use it to dry the floor? Floor of the shower/toilet area didn't have mold stains, BUT WALLS DID!! Right in my eyesight and in ceiling above me there were plenty of dark spots and blots. Terrible stench was coming out of the gutter on the floor, not all the time, but when it did it was unbearable. (and it did come in waves at least 3 times during 5-10 minutes it took me to take a shower)Fortunately I had slippers in my suitcase (I keep a pair in each suitcase I use, just in case...) so I could step out of the wet toilet/shower, holding on to its dirty walls so I wouldn't break my neck if I slip on the slippery floor. Then I had to walk to the other side of the room to wash my hands (from touching those walls). For some reason sink is on the opposite side of the room?! My standard spiral electric cord for the shaver couldn't reach from the socket to the area above the sink - so whatever hair got shaved off and didn't stay in the shaver had to fall on the floor. I also couldn't use the mirror that was above the sink. Room was on the ground floor (window was in level with the ground, and in the middle of the night I woke up to banging on my window. When I lifted the roll-up curtain, man standing above me apologized and went to bang on some other window!?!? Ibis Budget again? Probably. This one? NEVER!

This hotel needs improvement

There was barely enough parking space. Small entry area with check-in kiosk stank of cigarettes. Sheets and carpet were clean. Paint on the chair was chipped off and some surface corrosion was visible. Floor of the bathroom may have been cleaned, but walls had stains and marks, and ceiling had yellow and black dots like marks from water and possibly moulds. While I showered, terrible smells like sewage would come from ventilation or drain (not sure where exactly). Toilet and shower in a same are a bad idea. Ibis Budget (former Etap) had these separated and that was much better. There was no wall socket close enough to the sink for me to use my electric shaver - so instead of shaving over a sink, I had to shave (and spread bristles from my beard) over the work table on opposite side. Room was on ground floor and at midnight, some drunk idiots were knocking on my window. (apparently they thought someone else was in that room)

had to change hotel, was too noisy

was too noisy, couldn't open the window as we could hear the noise from the motor way, also no curtains only black out blind, was too noisy from people staying in the hotel - they went out for a cigarette and where talking until past 2am, not recommended for families with very small children, the loft bed was was not easy to climb up or down especially at night

We stayed here last year and felt the experience was less good than it had previously been. This time it was excellent: air conditioned room, much better breakfast. Better than it was even in the old days.

Ibis went down... and soooo deep

Very poor ... from stepping through the front door... Self service terminal didn't work for late arivel's the check in aria is so dark that you cant read the printed information and instructions without a touch ... coded locks open just after a few times the code was composed... there was no light in room 330 on 26/08/18 , we needed to keep the bathroom door opened to have kind of light ... bathroom itself never saw deep cleaning ... sheets were ok, dated and yellow, but washed ... 1 pillow and 1 set of towels for 2 person to share... SO WELCOME TO IBIS BARLEBEN :)
