I arrived late in the evening after reception had closed for my prebooked room. The ticketing machine at the entrance wasn’t working so called the central helpline for HotelF1. The manageress was contacted and arrived a few minutes later to open reception, take payment and give me my room. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of service and attentiveness which was way in excess of my expectations from the brand. Thank you to the staff, you were marvellous!

All the rooms smell of smoke, very unpleasant. Some of the duvets were smelly too. Breakfast good. Shared showers were good.

The hotel was being updated. We had a new room which was good. The new showers were nice and clean, but we're difficult to regulate the temp of water,and kept going off to quickly. Breakfast is always very good value.

Good points: The hotel felt safe, clean and functional - i.e. everything that we used worked Bad points: Everywhere smelt of smoke and there was a dog in one of the rooms on our corridor that barked every time someone walked past their door - I hadn't realised that this was allowed

Room was very dirty, with stain coloured walls. The walls also had cracks. The bedding top cover had tears in it. The wooden Mdf had notches out of it. The charging points were in positions that a normal phone wire left the phone hovering when charging. The shower was dirty with mould in many places. I will not be using F1 again.

Reservation number would not be recognised by the automatic check in machine. Remote staff were reluctant to help. Got through to the same operator 5 or more times and he just kept telling me to wait outside in the cold my wife and three kids. I finally got through to another operator who got us into the hotel. Out booking could not be found hence we were forced to book me rooms and try and reconcile in the morning.

Fire alarm going off at midnight , taking far too long to sort out why alarm was sounding . Other hotel users smoking in their rooms ( which is why the alarm sounded ) but the corridor my room was in was supposed to be a no smoking area. The sink in my room was making loud gurgling noises on and off all through the night disturbing myself and my wife trying to sleep.
