I decided to pre book the breakfast as I had a long road to do ahead of me. According to every sign in the hotel when arriving sunday night, the breakfast is served every day from 6.30 in the morning...apart from bank holidays and week ends. It is a Monday morning, and NOT a bank holiday so I woke up early and went down to the reception at 6.25. I waited for about 15 min, nobody....came back at 7, still no one, for the guy eventually to turn up at 7.30 and seat behind his desk without getting any of the breakfast ready... I think this is an appalling service and regretted paying for the breakfast in advance.

Dilapidated beds, torn bed cover, dirty walls, not a single utilisable toilet at level 1 (either extremely dirty, or out of order; the self-cleaning system doesn't seem to work anymore; had to use toilets at level 3, which were only marginally better). Very poor choice for breakfast (once again a deterioration of standards).

Smelly from outside hotel. Smelly inside room. No window lock so couldn't keep it open. Dirty sink. Top bunk sheets hadn't been changed and were dirty. Very disappointed.

Worst hotel experience ever, I had 2 rooms both were unclean, there was stuff smeared on the walls, a dead fly stuck to the wall, room was filthy, mattress stained and unclean, so bad we left and stayed at an ibis.

Stayed with two dogs during the heatwave. Very little was done to assist guests in rooms without AC. More doors and windows could have been opened, etc. Staff didn't speak English but insisted on policy about payments for dogs that were not visible on the webpage at the time of booking.

The room was anything but clean. Dead flies, stains on the walls, hairs around the sink, dirty mattress and it smelled horrible. The toilets were disgusting and seemed not have been cleaned for days. Same for the showers. We will never come back here. The guy at the desk was the only positive thing: he was very nice and helpful.

A tired, sad hotel on it's last legs. No facilities in the room. Tiny "pods" for toilet's and showers. Staff surprisingly upbeat and helpful. Being demolished next year and rebuilt. Overdue. The party of school children that started leaving before 5AM woke me. Not noisy, just poor sound insulation. Cold. Had to use the duvet from the bunk bed to keep warm. Nightingale sings in the bushes behind the hotel.

Door security latch broken. First shower didn’t have any hot water supply. Toilets have no washing facilities - meaning guests then walk around with dirty hands. This is disgusting. No soap provided in room - also disgusting. I want a basic hotel, but this should not compromise BASIC hygiene.

I have stayed in a few F1 places, and you get what you pay for which is not too much. The bed is okay for a couple of nights and the shared facilities should be adequate. On this trip however the showers and toilets were in poor order being either closed, locked out, and very dirty with previous use and mouldy. That said its only €30 a night.

I must admit that I was not aware the rooms were not ensuite but it was ok - a new experience. The 1st toilet had no paper. I was asked to come for breakfast at 8 am on the 1st morning because the young man said he wanted to clean my room - I guess he wanted to finish early - he was nevertheless very pleasant. The room was clean enough when I arrived - it could have been a bit cleaner

On arrival the outside and entranceway was filled with homeless and their dogs. They waited for people to open the doors and the main gate, though the cars went out they only parked outside. Odd behaviour that made us feel very unsafe and uncomfortable so we left and didn’t stay.

Nice stay, friendly staff. I am not giving 9 because toilets were at one stage without toilet paper. I had to try 4 different WC before I could find one with toilet paper.

Rooms seemed clean. We ordered towels for extra money but they had run out when we arrived, so we had no towels. Our daughter locked herself out of her bedroom in the middle of the night and was quite traumatized when she couldn't remember her code. However it was very cheap and the coffee in tbe morning was very nice. However, we won't do it again.

This is the third time I’ve used this formula1 in Metz as a break in a longer journey across France. It is clean, secure inc the parking, staff friendly and helpful. Near a super market and Mac Donald’s!
