The hotel was easy to find, and the room was ok, exept for the smell. It was like a home for a smoker family. Realy bad.

Very noisy and not fresh

The hotel is very noisy - most of guests are miners from who speak loudly and slam the doors. I think you should warn non-standard guests or passers by that this hotel is noisy. Hotel walls and tissues are saturated with cigarettes' smoke so even in the non-smoking area it stinks quite heavily. Car parking: at 1 am I was asked to walk on foot to the hotel door, take a code and then go back to the car (in a not very pleasent area!!). The gate was not working well and instructions were only in French. I understand perfectly that hotel guests are mainly miners so it is all ok for them but you should either not offer this hotel on your website (if it is workers' hotel) or at least warn your guests what to expect! How can you treat your guests like that?

Breakfast was good. Everything else was very basic. It was very difficult to get in and out of the car park because a lorry was parked blocking the entrance

Though clean, the hotel needs urgently a deep overhaul. Blankets are way too used, my roomed smelled strongly cheap floor cleaner/car "magic tree", and sorry, I understand the breakfast was very affordable, but a least put some real coffee, it's not that expensive when compared to mere Nescafe, a small attetnion that might have a postive effect on your customer's experience. Actually, if I wanted to have Nescafe, I'd brought my travel kettle. On another hand, having at least one small towel (face/hands) wouldn't strongly increase costs or dig your margins; other cheap hotel chains do offer towels. When arriving late, one has also to bear in mind the hassle of leaving the car at the gate, composing a code, going through the parking lot to the hotel entrance, getting the ticket through a machine to retrieve the room number, going back to the gate, composing the code once more, getting into the car, and FINALLY parking. If you ask your customers to make a check-in online, why don't you provide them with both the code and the room number in advance? What if it was raining cats and dogs, or snowing? I'd be frozen or soak wet going back and forth on the gloomy parking lot. It ain't fun at all, really.

No towels, room not prepared

I was very dissappointed since I already stayed in many F1 hotels. There was no towels at to room and reception asked €3 for each(!), the beds sheets was not prepared on the beds, but folded. Breakfast was not sufficiently covered, we had to ask for butter. Coffee was terrible, the automat was not clean for ages. This was my last stay in F1 hotel.

The gate was closed when we arrived (11pm). We could not find the code to the door on any of the emails we received from you. Had to climb the fence to use the computer outside the door to get our code. This was not good!

This time, everything was perfect, the staff very helpful, the reception desk attended with a warm welcome, the rooms spotless, good breakfast. This was thousands times better than last year, when we had raised concern about our one night stay, where everything had been dreadful. A massive effort is seen at present and we will definitely recommend F1 Valenciennes for this pleasant experience.
