« No A/C and room not clean nor well maintained »

It wasn't clear to me when I booked that the room did not have air conditioning. If I would have known that I would have selected an IBIS hotel. The room was not well maintained - for example the heating unit was broken off wall and placed under the wash basin. I last stayed at the same hotel around 8 years ago and I left with a positive impression regarding price/value. I guess that at that time the hotel was still quite new and it was not during the summer. This visit was completely different and I think that I will not ever book another room with Formula 1. On the positive side, I did think that the person at the desk handled his job well even though it must be a very difficult work given the condition of the hotel.

« Hotel is a disgrace »

We needed a hotel close to the airport as we had an early flight. This purpose was fulfilled but you can hardly refer to this place as a hotel - it is a disgrace: - rooms hot, smelly and dirty and a big hole in the ceiling of one of the rooms. - toilets and showers dirty - no towels provided (we booked two months in advance and they started looking for towels after we reported that there weren't any - then they noticed that they ran out). - we were charged for breakfast even though we didn't book it as it was clear that we had to leave for our plane at 5:20 am. I visited this place about three years ago and it was OK but now it is no longer recommendable.I also visited other F1 Hotels and this is not the standard. It is a pity because it is well located. Accor should definitely do something about it to save their image. I am not inclined to try again soon.

« Dirty toilets. »

The toilets were dirty. Beds were clean but smelled like cigarettes (in non-smoking rooms). The smell in the rooms + hallway was terrible. We won't come back.

« Unsafe, neglected hotel »

The car park gate was broken or held open so the car parking was not secure. The staff on the check in desk were not in any kind of uniform so it was impossible to tell who was or wasn't working for the hotel. I was given a room code that didn't work so I returned to the desk, the solution was that I would be let into the room with a master code and if I need the toilet or a shower I could find a member of staff to let me back into the room. I'm not sure how this would've worked in the early hours. The deadlock on the door was broken so I couldn't secure myself in the room. The room was clean and perfectly satisfactory but I didn't stay because the hotel felt unsafe. I appreciate the F1 is a budget choice but guests should be able to feel safe in their room and be able to use the toilet etc. without having to ask for a member of staff to let them back in. I checked in to another hotel in the local area. I will be applying for a refund through customer services.

« The receptionist was excellent and very helpful.  »

The toilet was not very clean but I realise this is difficult to control. A better sign in French, German and English would be helpful, explaining what to do if the Reception is temporarily closed.

« I stayed there because I could walk to airport (no shuttle offered), but very disappointed with quality of an unlock-able room. »

The very worst thing was that room could not be locked, because the code pad outside the room did not work. Therefore going to the toilet was impossible. Luckily the room was on the ground floor so I could urinate out the window. It was one of the worst rooms I've ever stayed in. Concern about the security meant I kept the window locked all night. The only positive was it's closeness to the airport. I saw no one when I left at 5am. I NEVER saw a toilet or bathroom. My only communication with staff was at 11pm when the man showed me to my unlock-able room. He apologised for the broken key pad, realising that the room could not be locked to go to the bathroom. The whole experience made me feel uneasy, because why was the lock broken? Had someone broken in? Why was it not repaired?

« Happy with staying »

Hotel was exactly what I expected, nothing more or less, but the lady at the reception (probably her name is Maria) was most helpful and friendly.

« Hotel is a stinky, grim little dive »

Room smelt extremely bad, and it was impossible to leave the window open due to the noise outside - in particular a regular siren noise! Toilets weren't clean, and showers stank - clearly some of the guests had been using the showers to urinate as the toilets were so unpleasant

« Below Average Accor Quality »

Not long after I booked the hotel online, I emailed the hotel asking for connecting door but there's no reply. Quite suspicious as I never experienced it before. A male reception staff when I came late at night to check-in can't speak English. The EDC machine was broken so that I can't pay by card. The door keys and handles of the two rooms that I got were all broken. The room on the ground floor can't be opened with the code and the room on the 3rd floor was the same and even worse, the handle was broken at the inside part. There was no towel in the room on the ground floor. In the morning, i just realised that on the right side of the front door there was an ATM-like machine to do automatic check-in and generate code to access the room. But it's broken. The rests were fine. A female staff in the morning was quite nice. Overall, sorry to say, won't recommend and won't stay again at this hotel. Makes me think again the quality of Accor Group for budget level hotels, especially F1 networks. I never had this kind of experiences during any of my stay at F1 hotels in Jakarta (now they're all changed to Ibis Budget). It's ironic that it's happening in Europe, particularly in France where Accor Group was founded.

« Bad hotel but close to the airport »

I will not stay again in this one. Really close from the airport but the room was a non smoking room and smell like a ash tray. I complaint to the receptionist which didn't want to talk in english and didn't care. They simply don't care about customers. At least the airport is 20 min walking and it was possible to eat.

« You get what you pay for »

I knew when I booked the hotel that it was going to be a budget hotel and it lived up to its expectations. No frills experience.

« Mr »

We arrived about 6pm Sunday evening. There were about 15 - 20 people sitting outside but only two cars in the carpark, one was mine. The receptionist checked us in and gave us our room number, I think 205. As we went to our room we could already smell the musty, damp smell from the toilets and showers. For the three clusters on the first floor, two showers and toilets were 'out of order'. Room 205 was tidy and probably clean but we did not stay long enough to find out the detail. We left the hotel immediately and found another, more expensive in the local area. I have stayed many, many times in F-One hotels in the last 15 - 18 years (including this one at Basel airport) and have never had such a bad experience. I was very embarrassed for my partner. I will never use this F- One hotel again. I wish to have a complete refund of my pre-payment.

« Terrible stay »

When I arrived, there was nobody at the reception. I waited for 5 minutes before someone came. The receptionist led me to a room which had a broken access code lock. He didn't speak English at all so I was confused on how I can enter and exit the room. Finally I understood from him that I have to call him to open the room every time i want to enter my room

« An uncomfortable, unpleasant sleepless night. »

I have stayed in Formula 1 Motels before, but this was the worst experience I ever had in a F1 motel. The keys weren't working so we were unable to leave the room without someone staying in the room and opening it up for the other, a nuisance every time we had to go to the bathroom or shower. The toilets were clogged, we had to ask for towels, there is no soap in the rooms so one has to go into the shower room just to get soap. The traffic noise was really bad and kept us awake.

« The most appalling hotel experience of my life, an embarrassment to the Accor hotel brand. »

- Access to the hotel was obscure with very poor sign posting. The main entrance is NOT on the allée des Pins. - Hotel grounds are littered with rubbish & overgrown grass. - The receptionist, who doubled as a cleaner, was pleasant and helpful, but not in uniform. - The credit card pin machine had a broken screen, so I was unable to see the transaction I was authorising. - There was an unpleasant odour of drains(?) in the corridor and stairwell. - The first room (311) we were allocated had a hole in the ceiling. However, the reason we had to change rooms was because we struggled for several minutes to exit the room, due to a broken door handle - this would be terrifying in an emergency! - The second room (213) was in a slightly better state, but there was still a hole in the wall made by the ladder to the bunk bed. - The bedding was clean, but there were cigarette burns in the duvet cover. - Even with the access code system, we did not leave our belongings alone in our room as we felt they were unsafe. At least seven rooms had had the access code box ripped off the wall, leaving wires dangling out. - The toilets were in a disgusting state by 9pm. - The toilet and shower facilities are dated and worse than one may find in a most basic campsite. - On going to bed, it was apparent that the second cleaner, we had seen earlier in the day, was sleeping in the room across the corridor from ourselves. - There are signs requesting that guests should be respectfully quiet especially after 10pm. We were repeatedly woken throughout the night, but the worst episode was at 3.30am when there appeared to be a party going on above our heads. The noise was atrocious! - On leaving at 8am on Sunday morning, we had to pass a drunken man sitting asleep in the entrance, complete with the night's beer cans still in front of him - a distressing sight first thing in the morning with my teenage son. - We have been guests in many Accor hotels over many years. We stayed in the Adagio apartments, Saint Louis, the following night and our experience could not have been positively more different. (Unfortunately, they were fully booked along with your Ibis hotel for the Saturday night) I cannot believe that you have such a seedy, scruffy and dubious residence on your portfolio where it was impossible as a paying guest to have anything close to a decent night's rest.

The staff were helpful and friendly. Room was clean. The toilet and showers could do with a refurbishment. I would say this was value for money and we had a pleasant stay. Breakfast was more than we expected for the price again value for money.
