Late arrival is hard, when the automatic check in is not properly working - does not take a credit card it just secured the payment with - then a smoky room (smelled like an ashtray) is not helping the overall experience. Bonus: Very helpful people in the nearby Ibis Hotel, nice staff in the morning. But overall I would prefer an easy access to a non smoking facility.

Very noisy, it seemed like most guests ignored the QUIET rule, also room was excessively hot making sleep extremely difficult

First entry and reception area stinking of cigarette and pipe smoke, first room smelt smoke in pillow, hallway signs ignored. Change of room still required walking through smokey reception and stairway area. Trying to sleep became impossible due to children screaming and shouting in my corridor, no controlling persons looking after or containing this issue during my last two nights. I was so glad to leave ..... Thankfully, Falaise is wonderful in comparison.

Noisy. There was a group of Italian people who were talking loud in the corridor. Every time they were asked to be quiet, they said "Mi culpe!" but started again the next minute. We arrived at 21.30 and the noise went on for a long time after this. There was also cigarette smell and I think these people were smoking too in the corridor. I am aware there was a group of package tour people who were Argentinians, but they were no trouble at all as I did not hear any loud voices in Spanish. We regularly use the F1 hotels when travelling through France and decided to go to Changé, near Laval on the way to going to visit some friends in Brittany. We had done the same thing 2 years ago and had an enjoyable experience in Laval. This year, the loud noise went on until 2 a.m. On the way back, we stopped in the F1 Hotel in Le Havre and had an enjoyable time. The difference between Laval and Le Havre was that the hotel was manned and there was someone who kept an eye on the place. They were there to welcome us, even though we arrived at 3 a.m ! If there had been a problem with noise or cigarette smoke, we would have been able to go to them to ask them to intervene. In Laval, I told the receptionist the following morning about the loud noise and all she could say was: "Yes, I know, I've heard from few people ". It is too late by then to do something about a disrupted night. If I could make a constructive suggestion, I would say that it may cost Accor Hotels an extra sum of money to employ an all-night receptionist as in Le Havre but it is certainly worth it, as this person would keep order and ensure everyone has an enjoyable stay. I hope you will take this suggestion on board.

I booked online for €35 including tourist tax, but was charged €40 at the entry automatic booking when I entered my booking code. The rooms all round me were occupied by a group/extended family and there were noisy kids running around the corridor banging on the doors until after 11.30pm. Location was nice but having stayed in many F1 hotels, I was not impressed with this experience.
