We were staying for a nearby event and it was in a great location for us. The room was comfortable, no problems with noise and the staff were friendly. We would have liked to have had the option of extra pillows as they were quite thin for our personal preference.

Rooms were small and dark reminded me of an airplane toilet and felt clostrophobic. Staff rude when we checked in and when we bought water from the bar at night. Expensive bar also.

« Due to over complicated system unable to report a much cheaper local hotel price and get a better rate spoit visit »

Arrived around midday but was told could not book in until 2.00 cant believe all the rooms were not made up at this time. The price match system appear geared to prevent clients from getting a better price. Tried loading a file but your system unable to accept wasted 20 mins of my time. Room clean very good door lock instructions need to be a lot clearer

My arrival was greeted well and I was quickly supplied with my key. The room as ever was clean and well prepared. I arrived at three to get some work done and found the Wifi perfectly sufficient. Everything in the room functioned well. The Hotel is an easy walk from the Birmingham City ground which is why it was chosen. On return from the match I had some beer at £4 a pint. The breakfast was good apart from the bacon being slightly cold. No noise during the night so good sleep. The staff were all very good. It was slightly more expensive than I normally pay.

We stay at different hotels each year for Crufts and we were so impressed with the Ibis. Very clean, friendly staff welcoming as we arrived. Bedroom comfortable and again very clean. Bed extremely comfortable and hotel very quiet especially as welcomed dogs during Crufts weekend. At Breakfast I asked for gluten free bread as Coeliac and was brought very tasty thick cut seeded gluten free bread in abundance. Lots of variety at breakfast too. Only drawback was very short staffed on a busy weekend of Crufts and football match. Staff stretched to limit.

The hotel itself was as expected for an Ibis. I actually like the new room designs/layouts. When I turned the duvet down, there was a very long black hair on the sheet, which the room attended could have noticed when making the bed. The washbasin plug had been pulled out, and there was a strong drain smell. When turning the tap on I discovered why the plug had been pulled - because the water wouldn't drain when placing it in the normal position. The smell was very strong, so not particularly nice. I was planning to report this on check-out but reception was too busy and I had to leave to not be late. My poorest experience was when I contacted the Hotel on Friday, the day after I checked out (wasn't possible sooner) to report an item missing and asking for lost property. Unfortunately, I left my old Blackberry behind, which I don't use as a phone anymore but as an alarm and to keep private notes. Reception and HK-supervisor almost sounded like they were trying to blame the next customer who stayed in the room, as nothing was handed in on my check-out day. I know I last put the phone on the duvet and accidentally must have covered it by folding the duvet over which led to me forgetting it. As it was on the bed, the room attendant should have found it! Customer services have since contacted me by phone and are investigating this now. I am very disappointed as I expect honesty from the person who cleaned the room. I did not have a lot of luggage with me for 1 night and triple-checked my bag so I know for certain, I left it in the room. This is very upsetting and I am considering to report this as theft to the police. Hopefully, customer service can solve this and find my phone!

The only problem I encountered was when I booked my room on the hotel website i booked a room with two single beds. However when I arrived it was a double bed. I asked if there was another room available but this was not possible. So don’t advertise rooms on your website you don’t actually have, not the fault of the staff at the hotel.

Great quick check in. Nice clean rooms and bathroom. Always love the ibis bed for a comfortable nights sleep. Had to wait about 5 mins to be served at the bar when I wanted a coffee (around 5pm) as the person serving had disappeared somewhere, but he was very friendly and chatty when he returned. Breakfast basic but ok for the cost. Overall a nice hotel which was located well for where we were going, and about a £6 cab ride from New Street station.
