While the room was exactly what we needed for the weekend, unfortunately our sleep was broken throughout the night. There was no sound proofing. The room above us sounded like they were practicing their dance moves at 11pm, and the rooms next to us were noisy. We could hear every time they went to the bathroom, as the little bathroom pod doors are quite distinctive, they’re quite stiff so have to be slammed shut. We were woken up at around 5:30am by other guest, they seemed to be calling from one room to another to each other. I mentioned this to the lady on reception upon checkout, she didn’t seem too concerned. She said that she would check with the night staff. We enjoyed the breakfast at ibis bordsley circus, there was a great selection. The decor is modern and clean. If the sound proofing was improved the hotel would be a great place to stay.

probably the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in, but I guess budget hotel meand budget comfort, the bed was hard. and to add insult to injury to have noisy guests and workmen at 3 ? in the morning trying to sort the heating just added to a miserable nights sleep ( i use the word sleep in the loosest possible terms) the only reason the score was as high as 4 is the reception staff at check in were lovely

« Friendly service, comfortable and clean room but minor shortcomings »

All staff very helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable and clean. However I found it impossible to open the window, so had to rely on the air conditioning unit. Unfortunately this only seemed to work above a certain temperature, which made the room too hot at night. Food was nicely cooked and reasonably priced. However the service at the evening meal was slow. Given the normal room tariff of £50/night, a price of £189/night seemed exorbitant.

We would like to draw to you attention an experience that we had. Our keys would not open the door.Therefore we returned to the reception to notify. The receptionist asked for our room number but NO ID !! Not good as we could have given any room number to gain access to anyone's room. Breakfast was VERY average and verging on being cold.

Room was fine but very small, housekeepers were pleasant. Shower design is terrible, only one set of towels in a twin room, no hand wash so had to wash hands with shower gel, pillows were hard as rock and the spares were the same. Only one chair for a twin room. Complimentary wi-fi was problematic and we had to visit the reception desk three times, first the manager lied and said it 'wasn't their responsibility, administrated by another company', we rang said company and they said it absolutely was the hotel's responsibility. Second time the manager admitted fault and gave us another number to ring, who also could not help us. Third time we went to ask if the ethernet ports in the room were connected to anything, again the manager was un-knowledgeable and unhelpful. We eventually resolved the problem on our own but this made the first three hours of our stay needlessly unpleasant. Parking is inadequate and badly signposted. All this after I was given the run-around while booking the room, initially told room rate of £348 but because I couldn't pay in advance, I was put on the 'default' anytime free cancellation rate of £395 (having experience of hotel booking I know this is not what should have happened) and once I was on that rate it was a chore to get the hotel to honor the original price. I spoke to three different staff spending a total of 45 minutes on the phone on my lunch at work, to be told that I was not allowed to pay £348 and the £395 charge would stand, I was then asked who told me I could pay later at the lower rate. When I got annoyed and began complaining about this, suddenly it was fine for me to pay the lower room rate and the woman clearly had the amount in front of her the whole time as she corrected me on how much it was. This is a disgusting business tactic with no other purpose than to rope unsuspecting guests into paying extra for what is already overpriced. All in all, average product at premium pricing, presented and represented by unhelpful and greedy management. We shall not be returning. See, now don't you wish you hadn't badgered me with repeated emails for a review?

It was all good and everything was fine. The only issue was breakfast which was very impersonal and insufficient. The fact that I actually paid extra for it was not appreciated. If I had known the quality and spread I would saved and had breakfast at the various outlets around the hotel. So my advice would be to stay in Ibis but eat out.

« Fantastic hotel, especially for the price »

I really enjoyed my stay, the staff was extremely helpful, the range of services available was great, they strive to be more eco friendly and there was even a smart phone in the room for my use for international calls and websurfing. My only qualm is that the bin in the room is tiny, you can just about fit a water bottle and some tissues in it. But with everything else on offer, that can be forgiven.
