Lovely clean relaxing hotel. Great helpful staff. Great food. Excellent location. Have stayed here many time over the last twenty years. Convenient to ferries and shopping centres. Will be back again.

« Rude staff and very few drinks condiments »

The room was lovely, the bed was lush, but there were very few condiments. No milk, one coffee and 4 packs of tea. When I asked for some at reception I was told I could purchase drinks at the bar. So much for your 15 minute guarantee of putting things right. I am disabled and parked in the disabled bays provided. I displayed my disabled badge, but the rude woman at the reception who checked us in told me I must move my car as I wasn’t disabled. I have walking problems and although I don’t have too use a wheelchair, I struggle to walk any distance and walking causes me lots of pain. She then went on too question why I had booked such a large room. I then explained that I am clostrophobic, to which she replied well I will let you have it but only because I have no families staying tonight. She embarrassed me so much I really didn’t want to stay. I’m sorry, but I paid for that room and I do not expect too be questioned by a receptionist.

I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. Concerning the welcome tray, we are sorry that it didn't suit you. It's a welcome present. There is always 2 packs of tea, 2 coffees and 2 milks. This one is not obligatory. You will not find a welcome tray in all 3 stars hôtels in France. It is therefore not included in the 15 minutes guarantee IBIS. In addition, we don't understand and are surprised the behavior of the receptionist. It is true that we are attentive to customers who park there. Because these places are precisely adapted to the people in your case. Maybe there was a misunderstanding? Hotel was clean and room spacious. However, the lady who checked me in was so rude. She questioned why I had booked such a large room and moaned that I parked in a disabled bay, even though I have a valid disability badge which has my picture on it and was on display. Such a rude woman!

I was here for business and found the hotel well located, well run, comfortable with parking and wifi as well as a reasonable breakfast. I would recommend the hotel and would stay here again in the future if my travels take me to Cherbourg.

The hotel complex is convenient if one is overnighting for a ferry, but it’s too far out of town for longer stays. The complex is pleasant, and the two hotels are up to the usual high standards of IBIS.

« Good place for an overnight stay »

Nice compact rooms with kettle, TV, shelves, hanging space and a great little WC, shower & handbasin "pod". Nice to have a midday checkout time, as we could leave my 90 year old mother-in-law to rest in the morning before a days shopping. W-fi was good enough for her to be able to Skype. We took advantage of the evening meal & breakfast half board offer. Very impressed with the evening meal in the restaurant, but totally confused by how much we were charged on our final bill - still waiting for a reply explaining what "restaurant soir heberg" charge was!

For dinner, you had 14 € per person to spend at the restaurant. On October 12th, the note of your dinner amounted to 42.90 €. We therefore deducted € 28 because it was included in your half-board. The line "restaurant evening" corresponds to the surplus is 14.90 €. We hope the explanation has been clear. « Comfortable overnight stop »

Typical IBIS clean and tidy rooms providing comfortable overnight accommodation on a long trip. Evening meal experience which is usually excellent - was very disappointing.There was no menu due to problems with the kitchen which resulted in a cold buffet style offering which became very rapidly depleted and not sufficient for all the diners attending, then suddenly two hot dishes suddenly became available raising doubt about what was exactly wrong in the kitchen . The excellent accommodation with a usually more than satisfactory evening meal without leaving the premises is the IBIS strongest attraction. If this slips then it will rapidly become unattractive. The Camponile provides a better dining experience, but a poorer standard of accommodation.

When passing through Cherbourg on our way home, we always try and stay in this hotel. We have only been disappointed twice, on these occasions is was completely booked out. So this statement speak for itself

« overall good but restaurant service poor. »

Hotel good, food good but let down by very slow service. Waitress was on her own to run the restaurant and bar which was busy. After 1.5 hours of waiting all we had been served was a carafe of red wine and a main course. We got fed up of waiting and went to our room very disappointed not having had a desert or further drinks!

Very comfortable hotel. When we changed our mind last minute about eating dinner in the restaurant they immediately took it off the bill (we changed our mind about dinner as they only had one kids choice on the set menu). After our return home I realised we had left a bag there. They responded very quickly to my emails and are sending it home for me.

We stop in the Ibis hotel one night before to take the ferry the next day as we did not want to hurry on the road (it is a long drive from Toulouse). It was a great idea and we had a relax evening and a good night sleep. We will definitively do that again...

Check in poor, waited a long time, no acknowledgment of gold Accor status. Room was good, as advertised and clean and comfortable. Car park too small and crowded. Breakfast service terrible. No plates for 10 minutes, staff complaining and not helpful. Worst of any Accor hotel I have stayed in.

I was present during your check-out time and your wife had explained us that she was disapointed about the breakfast. I told her that we were sorry if something wrong happenned during the breakfast. This saturday morning, two persons were presents for the breakfast and we really did our best to provide you the best service. I am sorry again if it wasn't the case. Regarding our parking, did you notice that the parking is all around our buildings ? There is thus enough space for all our customers. A lovely hotel, very clean and comfortable family room. A good breakfast to set us up for a day of travelling through France. Only a minor issue, the single mattresses in the family room were very slippery on the bed base. Due to this my daughter's (age 8) mattress slipped off the side of the base while she was asleep during the night (she is not one to move a lot when she sleeps so we have never known anything like that to happen before), causing her to fall to the floor, hit her face on the bedside shelf as she fell, hurt her arm and get quite a scare. After this she would not get back into that bed as she feared it would happen again, so I slept in her bed while she slept in the double bed with her dad. By the next morning she had a bruise next to her eye and some pain when moving her elbow. Thankfully the pain was not long lasting and her eye itself was not damaged. It was unfortunate that this marred a very enjoyable stay.

The rooms and beds were clean and exactly what you need for a nights stay. The breakfast is overpriced and very disorganized. My feeling was they do not have enough staff and when anything ran out it took ages to replenish it leaving people waiting all the time for food

Overall a pleasant hotel, good room, very clean and a sensible layout. Couple of small downsides;- 1. There was a problem in the kitchen which meant the restaurant could only offer a buffet in the evening. It was ok, but a bit restrictive 2. The blue light on the air-con control in the room is very bright and a bit off putting at night when all the other lights are out

« Great Overnight Stay ! »

Nice hotel to stay for an overnighter in Cherbourg. Family room was comfortable (if a little small) (bathroom was akin to the type you find on ships). The newly installed air con was not working so the manager awarded us a free breakfast (which I thought was a credible attempt at customer service). The restaurant kitchen was not fully open (due to a fault in the kitchen) but we probably would not have eaten there as it appears very costly for what in essence is a hotel restaurant. Good location for the locale 'Auchan' hypermarket and other shops and well located for seamless in and out of the ferry port. WOuld definitely stay here again.
