Usually I don't bother doing followup surveys but was happy to do this one as I was so impressed with the service and the fact that I got from the hotel what I was promised in advertising. More oftern than not I stay at hotels that promise much in their photos etc but don't deliver. Novotel Hamilton Tainui was a rare exception. Great service and the room was impeccable.

We were in need for a room after an unexpected trip to Hamilton. We turned up at the hotel at 3am in the morning without a reservation, and we were accommodated so well. While we were in the hotel for less than 6 hours, our stay was so pleasant and the staff we just amazing. We've stayed here many times before, however this time the team exceeded every expectation. Would highly recommend!

Great classy hotel with modern up to date vibe, in a perfect central to shops, Movie theatres and river walk, the staff were most helpful in providing a car park for our campervan overnight, thoroughly enjoyed our very comfortable bed.

My only concern was that when I pulled the bed covers back to climb into bed, I noted that the bottom sheet was very wrinkled as well as the pillow case - almost like someone had slept in it. It was a spooky feeling and I hope that wasn't the case but I did feel uneasy. Otherwise the people were nice, facilities good, car parking sounded a little difficult, if you didn't do valet service.

Novotel Hamilton is set in a nice quiet location, the room had a view over the river and was appointed really well, the beds were very comfy. Check in and out was very smooth, valet parking was great to have. Good location for restaurants, and only a short drive from the shopping hub out at the Base.

The hotel room was clean. I particularly liked the New Samsung TV as I could stream my devices to it wirelessly allowing me to watch movies from my device as there was nothing to watch on the provided TV stations. I didn't order room Service as the prices were already expensive, the range of food was very limited and on top of that there was a $4 room service charge so I opted to go for walks to the local businesses. Parking was terrible. There was no free undercover parking and you would be lucky to find a free parking spot in the outside area. $20 for Valet parking is way too much. Other hotels offer free under cover parking. I would have been happy to park my own car if it was an option. I ended up just parking the car when I got there and not driving it all week which meant I couldn't explore Hamilton. The Kettle in the room was disgustingly dirty, the replacement they brought was equally as dirty. They ended up taking it and cleaning it by hand and even then it was still dirty. If you wipe a wet towel inside it you get a lot of brown stuff off the inside. You should really look at replacing them all. I'm sure if I took a swab back to our lab it would have shown many types of bacteria. Your cleaners should also do a better job cleaning the rooms and bathrooms other than making the bed and folding the ends of the toilet paper rolls. Floor was not vacuumed and toilet was not cleaned. There was also a lot of banging/jumping from the room above me for 3 nights. It didn't bother me much but still inconvenient. Hotels also provide free internet these days. Your hotel still charge for internet if not a Le Club member. Luckily I joined on arrival. I had to call reception for them to add it to my room. In Summary, I have received much better value for money and service from the surrounding hotels. Parking should be free to guest and not $20 for a valet. Cleaners need to clean the rooms properly. You need a better room service menu and not charge $4 extra. Samsung smart TV's were a good choice.

The only negative issue was the cleanliness of the shower, and there was faecal matter still present in the toilet when I first entered the bathroom. I also experienced initial difficulty with accessing WIFI but the support was commended. THe beds and linen was fine and I also enjoyed being able to regulate the temperature in the room.

Have stayed with Novotel Tainui regularly in the past. Always felt there was great customer service. A lot of new staff this visit and didn't get the same vibe. Staff appeared more grumpy than usual. Had a guy push in at check in and no one said anything to him at the check in desk, even though I was stood there for about 5 mins. As an aside it interesting to note the varying type of drinks offered as a welcome drink throughout the accor chain. In Auckland I can have panhead beer, in Hamilton only Steinlager? Not everyone likes house wine or standard beer.

I stayed with you for a two nights and by and large my stay was positive except my below par experience with the restaurant staff on the evening of the 11th September. This was the day I was not feeling very well and came to the restaurant at around 5:30 pm to book myself in for a meal. As I had flu looking symptoms I asked for the laksa. One of the staff who I spoke with was very welcoming and also exceeded my expectations by suggesting to pre order in order to save time for a 6 pm meal and said that she made good ginger tea. Awesome customer service and being a hotelier myself I would have done the same thing. All good until now. I go back to my room and I get a call from another staff member saying the Kitchen have run out of laksa and they could not make it. I asked if she could check with the chef if there was something similar that I could have as I was not feeling too well. And got a plain "NO" I cancelled my booking and went across the road. Not ideal! My only gripe here is the inconsistency with the customer service. While one really took it to a high the other very quickly brought it down. I had dined in the restaurant the previous night too. I really hope that you take this feedback on board to bring about this change by way of further training and development so that you have all stars on your team. Thanks for what was otherwise a mostly satisfactory stay.
