« Novotel Hamilton Tainui »

This was a very comfortable hotel in a handy location. Great river views and all amenities. Staff were both welcoming and accommodating. Did not use the guest facilities so unable to comment however the hotel was very clean and comfortable and the high quality I have come to expect from Accor hotels.

« Huge waste of money. »

Loud. Construction going on which woke us. I came here for a night away from my husband, I booked last minute and arrived with my 2 year old son for a night out. My husband arrived at nearly midnight and was given a key card by staff at the front desk - my purpose of staying was to have a night away from our marriage to make some decisions, yet nearly $300 later that still couldn’t happen. I don’t expect you to magically know what’s going on in someone’s life, but I would think it’s a matter of security to call someone’s room before giving a key card out. Also, put into a disability room which is entirely inappropriate for people with disabilities (my son!) - he slipped on the tiles twice, as the small bathmat is insufficient to keep tiles dry. Never again Novotel.

« Very comfortable and friendly stay »

Very comfortable room - friendly welcome at reception by Assistant Manager Andrew. Valet parking and delivery of car when needed worked very smoothly - very reasonable price also. We were attending a family function in the hotel and that also went very smoothly, with friendly and attentive service by the hotel staff. Excellent catering also, and we enjoyed the coffee machines - with assistance, when needed, from the very friendly staff.

« Not the standard we are used to from the Novotel »

Coffee pods in room had not been re-stocked, USB ports not working, breakfast room full of flies. (To make matter worse despite being an accor member, I find that all of my stays last year were not recorded so my card status has not changed and all of my points were removed.)

« Very pleasant »

The stay was good. We loved our free drinks. The staff was very friendly.! We had a problem with a leak on the carpet . They thought it was probably from the new shower....so we had a wet patch on our carpet for the two days. Fortunately we were out most of the day. It was room 238. Thanks for looking after us. And for the bottle of water in the car when we picked it up!

« We stayed at the same time the sevens teams were there. Great atmosphere. »

Very pleasant, close to everything. We had to eat breakfast at the Ibis but that was fine. Only thing was the coffee tasted like fly spray. Be nice to have a barista.

We have had a good stay here before, it is convenient as a we have friends in Hamilton and also it a good start for driving down south etc. However we had a few issues this time. When I spoke with reservations to let them know that my partner was checking in and not me, the lady cut me off when I was talking and she was also not very friendly at all. I am a Platinum member as you can see , however no upgrade was offered, even thou rooms were available, the room we were in was small. Also at 1110hrs on check out morning, reception rang to tell me 1100hrs was check out and when would I be leaving. Not even would I like an extended check out, again no recognition that I was Platinum and very brisk on the phone. Also in the morning someone just came into the room without knocking. I had also requested firm pillows, a tea pot and trim milk. I got the pillows and the milk was inside the tea pot???The chocolate as a gift in the room was good. The good thing was the breakfast buffet, best I have seen at a Novotel before, great selection. However hot food should be hot, not luke warm. Overall a disappointing stay.
