I really don't think that this hotel should operate under the 'Ibis' brand. It is really nothing more than a glorified backpackers hostel. The air conditioning does not work and as you cannot open the room window the total lack of ventilation is uncomfortable to the point of being unsafe. The room A/C thermostat had a sign informing guests to ask front desk if they wanted the temperature changed. The room temperature was 26 degrees when we arrived and 28 degrees in the morning, when we fled the room at first light.....Despite our request for the temperature to be lowered.

We needed to stay overnight doing back to back cruises. With load of washing to take care of we made full use of laundry facility. This fast and cheap and was taken care of whilst we shopped nearby. Perfect.

Room was comfortable and met our expectations. Only negative was the room was a bit stuffy and the temperature of the air con was set too low to make it comfortable having it on for anything more than a few minutes. Couldn't seem to adjust the temp. Breakfast was very nice. Staff were pleasant.

I understand renovations were underway but the roof had fallen in. The room was barely cleaned. The bathroom was disgusting. Was scared I would get bed bugs. Could of stayed at the novotel were I was the night before for $15 more.

I paid for my room for the night before I arrived and it still was not ready when I arrived the next day at 11:45 in the morning. There were only 4 hangers in the room. It took them over 2 hours to get the extra hangers to me, so I had to wait to unpack, so I decided to take a nap. There are only 3 tiny draws and a tiny closet for clothing. I put the "do not distrub" sign on my door as I had meeting in 3 hours, which they ignored and continued knocking on my door until I got up and opened the door. There were knats in my room. Another day, after a long day of working, 7pm, I return to the hotel, I go into the bathroom to wash up and when I go to the sink, it is filthy. There was a bunch of filthy gunk left in the sink. I was too tired to call downstairs, and I needed to be ready within the hour to leave again. I couldn't afford to wait hours for someone to come and clean it, so I cleaned it myself. When I asked for a credit upon checkout, they said they could not give me one and inform management and reach out to me via email. I'm still waiting. I will not stay here again.

Staff displayed very good customer service and were very friendly and helpful. They quickly resolved room issues, moving us from room 910 to 911 when room blind did not function, and maintenance problems in room 911 when we highlighted it (shower head leaking at roof connection point causing water to be sprayed over ceiling). We found the hotel rooms to be very comfortable and the hotel in a central location. However, we did find it very noisy, even on the 9th floor, due to load music playing till 2am in the local pubs.

I'VE BOOKED IBIS WORLD SQUARE SYDNEY ONLINE ONE WEEK BEFORE MY STAY (QUEEN BED @30/10,31/10). I CHECKED IN ONLINE 24 HRS PRIOR. THEN I CHECKED IN AT 11PM 30/10 DUE TO DELAYED FLIGHT, THE FRONT RECEPTION STAFF (ONE INDIAN MALE STAFF)GAVE ME THE KEY TO ROOM 306. SO I CARRIED MY LUGGAGE TO THAT ROOM, OPENED THE DOOR, FOUND THE ROOM IS 2*SINGLE BED. THEN I WENT DOWN WITH MY LUGGAGE TO THE FRONT RECEPTION, QUESTIONED WHY MY ROOM HAS BEEN CHANGED. THE FRONT RECEPTION STAFF (ONE INDIAN FEMALE STAFF) DOUBLE CHECKED AND SAID YES IT'S WRONG. THEN SHE GAVE ME THE KEY TO ROOM 105. I CARRIED MY LUGGAGE TO ROOM 105, THE KEY DIDN'T EVEN WORK FOR THE ROOM?!!! I HAVE TO COME DOWN TO FRONT RECEPTION AGAIN, A THIRD INDIAN MALE STAFF(SEEM TO BE THE MANAGER OF THAT SHIFT?) SAID OH SHE FORGOT TO ACTIVATE THE CARD. NOT EVEN SAID "SORRY" AT ALL AFTER ALL THIS. I WENT UP A THIRD TIME TO ROOM 105 AND ONLY FOUND THE ROOM TURNED TO BE A FAMILY ROOM WITH 2*SINGLE BED AND 1 DOUBLE BED. I WAS COMPLETELY UPSET, RANG THE RECEPTION FROM THE ROOM ASKED WHY ALL THIS HAPPENED TO ME AND WHY THE STAFF WON'T EVEN INFORM THE CLIENTS IF THE ROOM HAS BEEN MODIFIED TO WHATEVER THEY WANT TO CHANGE?! YOU KNOW WHAT? THE "MANAGER" SAID YOU'VE GOT A BETTER ROOM THAN A QUEEN BED ROOM YOU'VE BOOKED. THERE'S NO QUEEN BED ROOM LEFT IN THIS BUILDING. THIS SO CALLED FAMILY ROOM IS BIGGER THAN YOUR QUEEN BED ROOM. IT'S LATE, YOU CAN JUST SLEEP NOW! THEN HE HANGED UP. IS THIS WHAT I SHOULD GET FROM IBIS? 3 TIMES UP AND DOWN BUT STILL GOT THE WRONG ROOM? WITHOUT EXPLANATION? WITHOUT A SIMPLE SORRY? PLEASE FOLLOW THIS UP. THIS IS DEFINITELY WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. HORRIBLE,RUDE STAFF. NEGLECT MY BOOKING AND ONLINE CHECK-IN 24 HRS PRIOR, CHANGE MY ROOM WITHOUT COURTESY NOTICE, HANG UP CLIENTS PHONE CALLS AFTER ALL THIS??!!!

Location is great. Less than 10 mins walk to several train stations. World Square dining precinct is just across the road. Check in / check out was fast and efficient. Bathroom had been recently renovated. Room had all the essentials including TV, bar fridge, iron, air con. Lift wait time can be a while during peak times.

I have been staying in the same hotel for many times., Always something going on. The leak from ceiling this time was absolutely unbearable. amazing to see something like that happened. I would like to come again, since the location is excellent. However, I am hoping to see a better building........

Didn’t spent much time in the hotel, only sleeping but was ok There was just a big leak from the ceiling in the lobby making it very dirty. If you are looking for a clean room just to spend the night and the rest outside, that’s fine

« Hotel is under renovation without notification »

We found hotel is being renovation but it is not ready to move in. Water was dropped from the ceiling above our room into the bathroom. Paint Smell was also happened. Last but not least, in the day we checked out, waste water were dropped to the 1st floor with very bad smell. We are unsatisfied with the hotel conditions at all. However, staffs are nice and location is good.
