It was inconvenient not to be able to plug my lap top power cord into the power point near the desk I had to use the one near the bed. The one near the desk/table was too close to the table and my power cord couldn't be inserted into the power point.

« Lost Property Issue Unresolved »

You get what you pay for at an Ibis. It's relatively cheap, but basic for a bed only stay over. Staff were OK, but don't go the extra mile you'd get in more up-market hotels. We left a hand mirror behind in the bathroom, phone up later to ask them to locate and hold. It has miraculously disappeared ! Not to be found. Very disappointing indeed.

« A disastrous Experience. »

The worst experience I have had anywhere in the world. I arrived at the breakfast room after being previously advised not to arrive too early. I arrived at 9.46 and was told that the kitchen was closed. After stating that my booking said 10.00 the waitress ungraciously plonked some eggs etc on the counter. After finishing my abbreviated 'breakfast' I then asked for some toast only to be told that it had all been put away. On my way up to my room, the lifts didn't work. I walked up the 12 fllors to find that the door to the vestibule was locked I heard noises on 14 floor and walked up to find an elderly lady with her large travel suitcase about to attempt a descent. I carried her bag down for her. There was confusion as new arrivals wanted to go and departing guests were stranded. By this time the poor receptionist, under great pressure, managed to get the cleaners to unlock the doors . I then had to walk up 12 more flights of stairs to pack and descend the stairs. I climbed 416 stairs up and 416 down carrying luggage. At 74 yrs of age and recovering from a broken back, neck knee, sternum and ribs this was a most uncomfortable experience. on a lesser issue I was given a free 'wecome' (thanks) but the receptionist opened it before I could say to keep the lid on as I did not want another beer at this stage and was looking forward to savouring it later. Thus I didn't drink it (waste). As you can imagine I will not return, and will recommend my friends and colleagues do the same!!!

« The room and amenities were good however the customer service and breakfast experience was below what I expected. »

My experience was that the facilities were fine but the breakfast and customer service were below expectations. On arrival the front desk attendant had very poor eye contact so was not at all welcoming and it was not busy at the time. We attended for breakfast at 9:30am which I understand is late but the choice was very limited- very few vegetarian options but I am not sure if this was because these had run out. Would expect mushrooms and tomatoes at a minimum given the current preferences of today's customers. The lifts stopped working at some point in the morning and we had to discover this for ourselves by pushing buttons, waiting and then going back to ask the breakfast attendant. She told us the lifts weren't working and I don't understand why she wasn't asked to advise everyone at breakfast. Also I don't understand why no effort was made to alert us to this fact by calling our room or at least putting signs on the lifts immediately. I am assuming the lifts being out was beyond your control but advising patrons was not. When checking out I asked why weren't people told the lifts were out and I was asked "what people". When I told the reception attendant "well me for example" she told me they had only been out for about 15 minutes and someone was just going up to put a sign on the lifts. This was clearly a lie as we finished breakfast at 10am and checked out at 11am meaning the lifts had been out for at least an hour and there were no signs. As my daughter and I are able bodied and had light luggage walking up 5 flights and down 7 was not too much of an issue but I hope those with heavy luggage etc. were offered assistance but we were not. Also, when we went to breakfast we were told someone else had used our room number which made me feel uncomfortable. The attendant was gracious and didn't stop us from dining which was admirable but perhaps some better system needs to be employed so legitimate paid up customers aren't made to feel awkward.

« Picked by location for a quick trip »

Stayed at this hotel a number of time now, location is good & often has cheaper rates for members. However this time I was pleased I wasn't going to be spending much time in the room. The room, was near the elevator clean but shabby, the ironing board was up against a wall & there was a open chocolate wrap sitting on the coffee mugs & the water pressure in the shower was really ordinary! Early check in was made available, the reception team were friendly but this is a hotel that never gives an upgrade - I'm glad we didn't pay full price.

« Good Stay Two Nights »

The hotel is basic, but good value for money. Great location and good to see lift number two has been fixed. Welcome drink was good and it would be nice if you got one for your second guest too. Accor Plus also allowed me to get a late check out (an extra three hours) which really came in handy and it was the first time in many stays that I required it. I think I actually spoke with the Manager that organised this. (desc blonde lady, very nice and polite)

« 15th Floor: no lift »

On Sunday morning 15 April, neither lift was operating. More than an hour after the lifts broke down the staff of the hotel had still not been to each floor to leave open the fire escape door so that those who wished to leave the hotel could return to their rooms. The lifts were stationary on floor 17 and, by their own admission, no staff member had climbed the stairs to see whether they could be restarted. As you may imagine the result was chaotic. Please don't send me an apology.

« Overall stay is great. »

We spent 2 days and the room is nice and the location is very convenient. Nana who was there when we checked in, was very friendly and accommodating to us. However when we checked out the lady named Suvrita I remember was not very accommodating/helpful and didn’t even greet us good bye after we paid our bills. She just gave back my card and did not say anything.

The service is nice, all the staff are very nice, only one problem is the facility and the decorations aren’t new enough, looks kind of old and the the walls of the hallways look bit dark and dirty, that part isn’t very nice, maybe give it an upgrade.

I was happy enough with the room but check in was very slow and when I went to use my complimentary drink voucher I was waiting for ever for someone to assist. My wife and I went to have dinner in the restaurant but after waiting along time without being acknowledged we left. I don’t think they even realised. Outside the control of the hotel was the amount of noise coming from a pub across the road, they had a band playing 5ill some crazy late hour.

« Comfortable, clean, quiet, convenient and friendly »

The stay was perfectly fine. A nice added touch to have the bottle of wine. (It was nice too). Nice to have breakfast included. Staff were friendly. Despite being next to a 'by the hour' hotel it was perfectly quiet and the environment felt completely safe and fine to walk about at night, as I did. Plenty of places to eat nearly too.

Location was perfect, no issue with reception or how the room was cleaned. However, the facial tissue was not provided in the second day even though we ran out of it, only toilet paper was refilled. Unable to provide simple amenities of comb.

A great central place from which to explore Sydney. In an interesting street with plenty of dining options. Very quiet. Enjoyed the range of TV channels. Daily room service was thorough and discrete but please make sure you are generous with teabags and milk. Storage of luggage in the basement on last day was a fabulous service.
