The room was clean and well presented. The newly renovated bathroom was a nice surprise. The only thing I would suggest is being able to adjust the temperature of the AC as it was rather cold and worked quickly. Overall, a nice stay.

After paying for early check-in, we were told there was no room available yet. Exactly why we paid for early check in is bec we were arriving early. We come back to our room at around 9pm, only to see our door left wide open! The room was made up so we are sure this was left open by housekeeping. We were shocked. There was a disturbance on our floor, by the guest in the other room, but it took us 45 minutes to connect to reception. Either the line was busy, or front desk would not answer or hang up on us. We had to call front desk 3 times to fix a/c in our room. Apologies by the hotel, we were offered free dinner - on the day were checking out. Haha.

I have checked your reservation and your room was checked in at 7.59 am and the early check in charged was removed as a goodwill gesture. I am sorry the room was not available before your arrival. Unfortunately we did have a guest with a medical condition that did disrupt other hotel guests, this was an isolated incident and I understand your concern. What I liked: - Comfortable room with good facilities. Staff were very friendly and polite, from cleaning staff to staff in lifts to staff at front counter. Lady at front helped me hail at taxi when I was leaving, which was much appreciated. She also told me that Ibis staff aren't allowed to accept tips (when she was talking about American visitors) and I was quite impressed by that. What I didn't like: - I really wanted my own toilet brush and asked on my first morning but was simply told the cleaning staff would clean the toilet. I asked again on the second morning and again someone was just sent to the room to clean it. I was a bit more emphatic to reception and cleaning staff about wanting one and finally got one the following day. I don't understand why they're not just standard! I had someone come over the first couple of nights and it was just a bit embarrassing! - The bathroom fan didn't work. - Some pollution from the street leaks into the room during peak hour. I'll admit I'm a bit sensitive to smells, but the air seems to thin out in the room during this time, so it's a bit of a worry. I wouldn't stay in the room during these times. - The bath towels often smelled of pollution. I don't know if they'd be delivered that way or if they were absorbing the smells in the room. That should be looked into. - There was a sign on the shower saying that if guests keep the bathroom door open during their showers that they could be liable for a $1600 fine from the NSW fire brigade if they have to come out because of it. This just seemed a bit ridiculous to me. Surely, the smoke detectors in the building should be able to tell the difference between steam and smoke? If the hotel simply wants people to keep the bathroom door closed during showers, just simply ask for that. - On the last day or two, the air con started turning itself off within 5-10 minutes.

1. We booked our stay at Ibis Sydney World Square in advance and paid for 9am early check in. But when we got to the hotel at 8am, we were told, to our great disappointment, there was no room available yet. Huh? But we paid for this, right? And then, we got checked in. Ok. 2. Day 2 of our stay - we left the hotel at around 10am and spent the entire day sightseeing. We left the room for housekeeping to clean. When we returned at around 9pm, we were shocked and surprised to see our door fully opened! It's a good thing we locked our bags. 3. For the past 2 days, we've been hearing shouting in the other room. And then banging on our door! We tried calling the front desk but we couldn't connect. It was a good 45 minutes before we were able to get through. The guest in the other room, 702, was banging on our door, creating a huge disturbance. It was really scary. We were transferred 2 times before we felt secure. 4. The hotel sent us an apology letter, offering us free dinner - on the day we were checking out. Haha 5. Only pro of this hotel is the location. 6. Disappointed as this hotel is with Accor. We don't get it.

Our two night stay was very good. Check in and out was very easy. The staff customer service was excellent, there is nothing we could fault with the staff. . All the staff, day and night, were very friendly and extremely helpful. The only negative was they had run out of feather pillows when I requested one (not the staff's fault) but they did bring a foam memory one for me which was good. Would definitely stay again.
