« A nice experience in Curitiba »

I had some complaints about the first room that was assigned to me as it was too noisy. I shared these with the hotel staff and found that among all the people I talked to Carla was by far the best at taking care of it. She demonstrated a lot of pro activity and followed up upon herself to find a better room for me. She then kept a good rapport with me and my colleague who had the same issue during our stay to ensure we were well taken care of. I truly believe she made the difference by herself. By the way, I stayed 11 nights in the hotel so her gesture had a significant impact on me enjoying my stay and being able to work appropriately!!!

« No one told me about the construction when I booked this at full price!!!! »

I was very disappointed with the fact that I was not advised prior to checking-in that there was going to be tormenting noise of construction during my entire stay. I paid top dollar for a suite and I feel that I was swindled. The hotel had its better days, the decor of rooms, hallways and lobby is dated and the property should have been closed for the demolition rather than staying open and torturing guests with the noise. The suite's decor was very cheap, had small TV sets and one bedroon had no TV at all,that besides having zero acoustic insulation (the noise of vehicles from outside ensured that no one could sleep before 8 at night fall or anytime after 6 am) The bedroom is equipped with a cheap thin, deformed and cheap spring mattress that besides being very uncomfortable, squeaked when I moved at night. The bathroom shower stall had mold around the glass joints and had nowhere to put the soap, and that marvelous "combination shampoo+conditioner" which we know to be a chemical impossibility. The ONLY hightlight goes to Rosi, the attendant at the breakfast room, for her exceptional personality. I complained to the front desk about all of this, and there was no hint of a desire to do anything concrete to make up for the troubles. Very disappointed. Accor should do a better job at choosing their partners.

At Mercure, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. We understand that construction time is very stressful, however, unfortunately, it's not feasible for us to be closed for the full year required to complete our renovations. As you mentioned, our decor is currently dated, with small TVs and older equipment and mattresses, and all of this is currently being fixed, with the rooms being renewed from inside out, and every single item being replaced for newer, top-of-the-line amenities. The lobby and pool are scheduled to be renovated as well. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future.
