« Rooms comfortable and clean »

Rooms well appointed and reception staff polite and helpful easy to park overall look a bit shabby Restaurant - very ordinary and overpriced food ,some dishes on menu were not available,service mediocre.Resturant for dinner had hardly any guests but floors were dirty and service of food slow. Breakfast again overpriced and presentation very ordinary with food looking and tasting less than fresh.

Overall great stay with really friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast not great the first morning, due to a storm the day before we arrived. Breakfast location moved to the conference hall next door for a couple of days and it was crowded and not as great selection as the following days.

Arrived after s storm, staff handled the flooding well. Our room wasn't quiet what I asked for as there were 3 of us & 1 bed. They quickly fixed this. Breakfast wasn't great. The bacon looked plastic & the mushrooms weren't great either.

I was excited to have my first Accor Member experience and due to storm damage the staff was very distracted on my check in and things were not explained to us properly. The receptionist was on the radio with a worker in a lift and yelling across the desk to workers at the lift. I understand that significant damage had occurred to the premises however this was not a good check in experience. We had no idea until the next day that we had free drink on arrival cards and just assumed it was the water in the room. I don't believe my room was a junior suite as they had put a portable bed in the room. When I asked about it for future reference - as I suspected maybe none where available due to the storm damage - the receptionist did not know the room I was staying in and we discussed the layout of the room and what should and should not be there - rather than just going to see the room so she could confirm what type of room it was. The aircon in the room was not working and it was very hot. They did come to get it going but it was not working very well throughout the night and not at all in the bathroom. There was no mini bar at all. The beds were amazing and the room was clean so I was happy with the room just wanted to know what type it was. The breakfast was very standard.

« Quick Sydney visit with a pleasant stay »

Quick visit. Happy with the venue, location, staff & room. My only issue is trying to park my large 4wd loaded with mine lights, aerials, etc. Vehicle height is not an issue. The vehicle is only just able to enter your car park due to the first tight left hand corner before the boom gate. Not sure what can be done about this though

Overall a good stay. Check in staff was friendly with a quick check-in. Room was ok. Had breakfast at the restaurant which had the standard food in it. Again the hotel team were all smiling and greeted me and the family with warm greetings. Then Checkout was shambolic and that is putting it mildly. Overcharged for the breakfast despite booking here the $1 breakfast as part of the package was charge $28 per day. Then they tried to justify that they were correct. Luckily I had the print out and disputed the charges. Took more than 15 minutes to resolve. Rather than waiting decided to start my journey back to Melbourne. In the end all sorted out. As an Accor Silver Member would have expected better. Hence the overall rating reflects the bad checkout experience. Will think twice about booking future stays at this particular hotel.

flooding in restaurant due to storm damage, water in car park and kids unable to use the pool. The staff handled this situation so well. They gave us a complimentary breakfast because our children could not use the pool and then made a point of telling us when the pool was re-opened which we really appreciated.

Flooding affected the whole hotel. Staff did all they could but still meant stay wasn’t to usual high standard of the hotel. Kids area needs to be updated chess pieces broken and pool always appeared dirty

My stay was comfortable and pleasant. the staff were very helpful and courteous. I did have an issue with ordering breakfast - which took 3 reminders to staff for my 'poached eggs' on one occasion. Also there could be a better arrangement at the bar and the initial desk in the dining room to attract the attention of staff = perhaps a buzzer or bell? As I did have to wait a long time for service in these locations.

During check in I was charged for the room although I did ask the staff member to check Booking.com records regarding payment. When I came home I checked my email & bank statement which stated I had prepaid upon booking the hotel in October, 4 months before my stay). I called Mercure immediately to rectify this double charge. The door had a large gap which allowed cigarette smoke to enter our room during the night. The bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan so after a shower the mirror was fogged up.
