Overall was pleased with our stay. Impressed with the makeover on the room especially the bathroom However did think the room smelt musty not sure if was from being newly refurbished or something else like a mildewy smell. We found the staff very helpful and friendly and would stay here again.

Having stayed a number of times at this hotel I can only congratulate the company on the refurbishment to the rooms that has recently taken place. Only thing missing was a bedside table/shelf. All very very comfortable.

The hotel was a throwback to a 50's motel style which was not without some quirky charm. The reception staff were polite and courteous and the room itself was adequate for a single occupant but this would have been a tight squeeze for more than one person however, the real let down was the breakfast the following morning. The cooked food had been left under the heatlamps to the point that the sausages were about half the size of what they should have been. The bacon was so thin that it was translucent and again had been basking under the heatlamps so was beyond crisp. Perhaps cooking to order would be more appropriate for this location as the only really edible items were the prepackaged cereals and yogurts.

We were thrilled to discover that the family room we had booked was in fact two rooms so that our grandson could have his own space and we could have a bit of peace and quiet. All in all a very comfortable and relaxing stay. Thak you.

While the outside is not the prettiest the room was spotless fresh, the bathroom in particular was very pleasing, bright ,clean & spacious, lovely big bed a little firm for us but still comfortable for a good nights sleep. We skipped breakfast so cannot comment on that but will have no hesitation on using or recommending this hotel again

Excellent location for my visits to the midlands. The staff were polite and helpful when checking in and leaving . The hotel was in a quiet location, and the room was clean and warm. A wide range of options on the menu.

« Good and not so good elements made for a mixed stay. »

First, finding the place is really hard. Sat navs take you to a blocked off road, then when you manage to get the right side of the barrier, finding the hotel isn’t easy. Head for the Jaguar factory and there is a sign down a lane for Hotel, that’s the way to go. Location is good enough to visit the nec, which is why we were there. Hotel itself is an old style motel lodge/chalet affair, with the reception and bar away from the accommodation. I arrived on a cold, dark and very very wet December night with my dogs. Check-in worked well and I was given my room, on the upper level of the accommodation block. I asked to be changed to the ground level as one of my dogs will not go upstairs, it was done with no fuss at all, and I was directed to our room. It was pouring it down, the lighting was abysmal, and the water flooding off the top level with no guttering to divert it meant there were huge puddles to negotiate with torrents coming from above. There were also some sorry to say, dodgy looking people loitering, only one or two, not in a gang, but because the lighting was so poor, it made me feel quite vulnerable. I eventually found my room among other rooms that were derelict as it turns out they were being refurbished. However, once in my room, I could close the door on the outside and relax. The room had been refurbished. Nice enough fittings, good fitted tv, clean bedding and bathroom etc, although the finish isn’t great. Wall hung fully adjustable heater so the room was warm and I was able to reduce the heat for the night time. We got settled and then I went to get some food. A basic but good enough menu, I ordered a pizza to take back. While I was waiting, I overheard the manager talking on the phone about some troublesome guests, sounded like squatters, and that he was hoping they would leave now as he’d turned the electric and WiFi off to their room. Was starting to feel a little more threatened here. But back to the pizza. It was oven cooked and packed in a pizza box so all good. Sat on my bed and watched tv. Loads of channels so plenty to watch. I had a shower before retiring. It’s an over-bath shower so you have the option. The shower was lovely. Plenty warm enough and good water pressure. Shower gel provided is standard quality, nothing special. Towels one large bath sheet, one large bath towel and a floor mat, all spotlessly clean. Good hairdryer provided. Time for bed, and what a lovely, comfy bed. Again, spotlessly clean with really nice bed linen. Just plain white, but it was lovely quality cotton. Very surprised. Pillows were lovely, and an extra one if needed was in the wardrobe. So for me, I managed some sleep which is always a bonus. In summary, I was very happy overall with the room and the rate I paid, but, the lighting needs to be improved. They need to get the refurbishments finished and the place tidied up. Guttering needs fitting to manage rain water run off and they need to get much better directions to the place up on the website so that guests arrive in a better frame of mind.

The rooms were very cold with only one very small wall heater in the bedroom area and no heating in the bathroom area. Due to the lack of heating the beds and covers felt damp.Both of the rooms we had had not long been refurbished but no extra heating had been added.

Friendly helpful staff, great food, clean modern room. Very pet friendly. Much improved rooms after refurbishment. Have stayed at this hotel several times. Great price and included a lovely breakfast to set us up for the day.

Staff really helpful and friendly my only complaint would be breakfast when there are big groups it is difficult to get a table and food runs out quickly.that said food was excellent

The newly refurbished rooms are very nice however they are much noiser than previously with the removal of the interior door. To be honest for the small amount of room gained by taking them away I would rather you had left the door in place and benefited from how much quieter the room was and more secure.

The room was very cold, could not even warm up under the covers, Breakfast was cold too far away from main building. It was very noisy.
