« Not as bad as some reviews say »

First off, this is a budget hotel and really cheap. The beds are ok and the bedding was clean. The bathroom was clean and the shower head looked new. No problems with water pressure in the shower. The heater worked well and you can change the on/off times and setting to suit yourself. The breakfast was quite limited in some ways but there are options they will cook to order, eg scrambled eggs or vegan sausages. The downsides: the walls are very thin, the car park is quite steep in places (although we managed on crutches and walking sticks), the carpet was quite stained and there are only 2 sockets to use (they are on the other side of the bedroom from the mirror).

« Terrible »

The room was substandard with stains on the carpet through out. The bath was badly stained all over with what looked like grout. The curtains were stained and had holes in them. The phone in the room to reception did not work. There was hairs on the bathroom floor. Friday night there appeared to be an all night party going on till 4 amin the morning with people coming and going. I attempted to phone reception but the phone didn’t work i eventually got to sleep just after 4 there was no staff / security intervention. I then was woken st 6 by a laundry lorry dropping its tail gate and collecting large containers of laundry and banging them so loud it woke me up . I got up had a shower and went down for breakfast and o complain. There was one of the female revellers from the night before at reception drunk and enabling a taxi . I had breakfast and requested to speak to a manager only to be told a manger wouldn’t be in duty till 3 pm. As I was going out at 2 to meet me friend I left my number and was told the manager would phone me when she came on duty. There was no phone call. I returned to the Hotel later that night and couldn’t get in through the gate as my fob card didn’t work . I went to reception and asked why the manager hadn’t called . They apologised an said she would call my room at 930 in the morning. I then went to my room and couldn’t get in as the fob key wasn’t working. I returned to reception a security guard accompanied me to my room and tried itbit didn’t work so he let me in with a master key. I woke in the morning waited till 945 for a manager to call nobody Called so I went to reception and asked why they said they weren’t on duty till 3. I then had breakfast and was told a manger would call me at 3. I returned home and once again received no phone call so I called the hotel only to be told she was busy and would call back in 15 minutes. Once again no phone call so I phone again and got through. Even though I had emailed my complaint to the manager as well she informed me she was unaware of my complaint and would investigate and get back to me. I received an email later that night apologising and giving me a full refund. However before the refund the hotel system and taken an additional payment of £63 in error from my account. The email informed me that this and a full refund would be in my account within 2-3 days. The additional £63 taken from my account left me with £19 in my account for 2 day until I got paid . All in all an absolute night mare which I am still not happy about. I hadn’t met my ex act friend for 25 years and was absolutely shattered when I met him and the whole weekend was ruined I am still very annoyed.

« Nice and convenient »

Good clean hotel and well situated for walking into Birmingham. Tends to be noisy early in the mornings so light sleepers beware. Parking seems a little expensive for hotel residents. Very helpful and friendly staff.

« The location was perfect but the room was far from perfect.. »

The location of the hotel was perfect for our needs and the reception staff were very polite. Our main concerns were the condition of the carpet, the stains on the bathroom door and the discomfort experienced due to an allergy of bed bugs?

« Had a room issue which was sorted very quickly, shame about the not so hot breakfast »

The T. I booked was not available so they gave us a complementary extra double room. The first night receptionist was very good (Asian female with long black hair and red shirt). She was very attentive and sorted the issue out quickly and efficiently. The breakfast next morning was a real let down. The bread had not been replaced and the food was at best lukewarm - certainly not hot. Which is real shame as we were the only people having breakfast at that time so not as if they were run off their feet.

« Like going back in time »

The rooms are very dated and resemble Butlins chalets from the 1970s. The carpet and mattress were covered in stains. The room was cold, claustrophobic and poorly maintained. The bathroom had mold on the ceiling and big chips on the bath. The metal staircase on the outside and the paper thin walls meant that you could hear people banging around all night especially as the doors needed to be slammed to shut properly. Breakfast was very good.

« Very good value for money »

I arrived 10:30pm and left around 8:30am the following as I was staying the night before a training course. On booking my priority was a location close to New Street railway station and the training venue and this hotel was. Secondly I wanted good value for money and again this hotel was just that. AT the hotel I only needed the basics (a shower, a bed and breakfast). In the shower the water temperature was easy to set just how I wanted it and the power of the water was perfect. I slept very well in a comfortable bed and breakfast was tasty and plentiful.

« Like A Hostel »

Arrived at hotel at 5pm to find no one could check in because the rooms were still occupied by the previous night’s guests or still being cleaned. Never heard of such a scenario before. Bar area very nice and modern. Don’t let that fool you. The rooms are disgusting. The carpet in our room was filthy and had large stains all over it. I wouldn’t have contemplated walking on it in bare feet. It was snowing outside and the room had just a small electric heater which had to be on all night as it was so cold. Very convenient for the O2 at the bottom of the hill but won’t be using again. Didn’t even bother with breakfast. Gross.

« It was okay »

First room offered was not very nice, had a lingering smell of cigarette smoke and didn’t feel clean. Second room offered was much better, but the rooms are a little dated and refurbishment would be in order, especially the flooring which appears dirty.

Not a lot to ask If I had come here with my family There is no way on gods earth I would have stopped here .i would of left immediately Let me say the only enjoyment I’m getting from this whole 4 .5 hours sleep I got , is being able to warn others not to ever stay here . I have back packedaround many parts of the world I have seen things (in my 20s) im no snob clean warm safe ,then I’m ok So let’s start The building is in a compound , Good keep what’s just out side out The rooms Ski chalet , old , dirty ,noisey Cold ,tired , and worst of all dangerous the broken electric heater gets hot has one leg And was sitting on top of it’s own wires This place is a shambles TOP MARKS FOR in the last 20 years the worse place I Have ever ever stopped Top marks for the dirtiest carpet Top marks the thinnest walls and windows in existence Just book somewhere else I honestly can say if I had been in my van instead of my car I actually contemplated sleeping in my vehicle it was that cold . « Very Good Value and a comfy clean room. »

Once you find the Hotel, it is well tucked away, the friendly reception staff will swiftly check you in. The Motel style rooms are warm, clean and comfortable. Perhaps in need of a little TLC and updating, but given the location excellent value for money. And cheap car parking too.
