« Great location, great staff but my wife got food poisoning from breakfast buffet. »

My wife became ill after her first breakfast and remains ill 12 days later. The room was a bit disappointing - I am very tall and the bathroom was so small I had trouble getting into and out of the shower. Carpets were marked/stained and overall impression was that it was a bit tired. The front desk staff were extremely helpful.

It was certainly different TV remote batteries flat not enough towels in the room for booking of 4 requested pillows off the pillow menu was advised that they had no pillows available in the end found one Boomerang pillow and provided two single pillow slips for it not the correct type other than the poor start to this day and no view of Treasury Gardens other than the rooftop on floor 1 this floor appeared to be the staff residence other than that nice stay

The hotel was ideally located and easy to find. The room was clean and comfortable, but the TV could have been a bit bigger. The car park was a very tight squeeze.

I do apologise for the tight fit with the Car park - I do agree it can be quite a tight squeeze depending on the size of car you drive. May I suggest for your return visit to us, you perhaps try our alternative Car Park located just 2 minutes walk around the corner from the hotel. This is also a Secure parking facility that our hotel is associated with and would be better suited for larger Vehicles. As usual the hotel always pleases, check in is simple used the on line check in on this occasion, rooms are always superb,the tasty sweets left in our room were a nice touch at the end of the night,breakfast always nice and fresh could not want any more,check out excellent nice and quick and your car park is very much appreciated

« Not As Good As Last Time »

Firstly, I would like to say the staff were very pleasant, helpful and welcoming. The location was great & the beds comfy..... We came over for the State Of Origin and on the last trip there the whole bar was decorated with flags etc and the place was buzzing on the Tuesday & Wednesday nights. It was a lot of fun! There was nothing whatsoever this time and since I had bought an extra 5 people (which made 11) and told them what to expect it was disappointing. It was very boring to walk into. On the night of Origin we were in bed at 11.30 and called for room service...which was 'sold out' apart from soup? I have stayed in hundreds of hotels worldwide and NEVER had this happen? Couldn't they have rustled up a couple of sandwiches? Surely there was food there ready for breakfast...you wouldn't have missed a couple of bits of bread & cheese! The staff need to be more creative, as they could have been with the bar decorations! The person that delivered the soup said he had just come on shift, there was no food and he was having to cover room service himself. Come on! State of Origin night there should have been extra staff on! We were starving and didn't want to go out. Had to have soup when my husband hates pumpkin...he had one spoonful and went to bed. Very bad planning when you knew the game was on! Also the bar had about 25 people left when they said the bar was closing...most of us were staying at the hotel so not only did you miss out on room service charges but also quite a few drinks. No-one was intoxicated so I didn't know what the problem was? Last time they kept the bar open for us? Our room had a balcony, which I assume was part of our 'privilege' room as that was the only difference from all the cheaper rooms apart from a couch in the corner. The stones on the balcony were old and all loose they looked terrible. We walked them all through our room every time we went outside. We had to ask for our shower gel/shampoo coffee/etc all to be replenished after 2 days of room service being there. We stayed for 5 nights so one lot was not going to last for 2 people. Even though we didn't have breakfast there we were told that the food was very bland also. I must say that we were quite disappointed as were our friends that had come with us the first time. So on the whole we weren't impressed this time, it was quite a let down. We would only stay again because of the location to MCG. Usually Accor hotels are fantastic as this one was last time, but the standard has dropped unfortunately.

Quite good. The staff were helpful and the rooms very clean. The lighting in the room was extremely poor. This coupled with the dark walls made it hard to see.

I thoroughly enjoyed the attitude of especially the catering staff both in the restaurant and function area. They were very able and positive and provided excellent service, but the exceptional part was their attitude.. very impressive.
