My partner and I enjoyed our stay thoroughly and would definitely stay again. I do believe that sometimes the staff can smile more but I do understand the stress and hard work that goes into the beauty of this hotel, so this suggestion is not a down fall or a disappointment, simply just positive feedback.

« Great service »

We were on our honeymoon, the first 3 nights of our stay. We were located in a garden room on the bottom floor. This was a standard room but with temperatures at 30degrees both days it was unbearable with no air conditioning (5star hotel with no air conditioning?) The gym was also quite small- only a couple of people can use it at a time and also not air conditioned which became unbearable when working out during hot days. Our last 2 nights we were in a lake view room on the 6th floor, this was a much superior room with air conditioning and improved our stay dramatically. For the cost of the rooms I believe all should be of this standad. Service at the hotel was amazing, all staff were friendly and willing to assist with all requests.

Excellent Hotel with lovely people who look after you especially when we visited for 4 nights on a special family holiday in November 2017. Although not a cheap hotel it proved to us that you bet what you pay for. Would certainly re-visit if opportunity to come to New Zealand arose again which we hope will happen.

« Absolutely beautiful setting with wonderful amenities and fantastic staff »

Top notch in every way! Staff went above and beyond. Extra special THANK YOU to Priyam, who personally drove the the airport, after his shift, to hand deliver the credit card I had dropped in the elevator before my plane took off! Setting is beautiful, overlooking the lake, had delicious breakfast every morning, the concierges were excellent. Would have given it a 10 but there was no air conditioning in the lower floors, and there was a heat wave. We lost a night’s sleep but the next day staff brought us a portable AC. Heat was unusual, but still, they really should have AC in all rooms. Otherwise, we can’t say enough about our experience at this wonderful hotel!

« Like staying in a 3 star hotel pretending to be a 5 star. »

Poor quality. Bad value for money. Felt like we paid for 5 star and got 3 star. Chaotic breakfasts: bought tea instead of coffee, no one refilling the fruit after it was taken, coffee terrible, greasy bacon and sausages. Accor have purchased a third rate local hotel, gifen a very superficial makeover and are charging 5 star prices.

Overall the stay was ok, but staff staff lacked care at times. Hotel is also very tired/scruffy in places and compared to most Sofitel hotels did not provide the usual excellence.

« Rooms were fine, service at hotel and cleanliness in common areas not the best »

Air conditioning in room 331 wasn’t actually in existence, terribly uncomfortable. Check out service early in the morning from a lady (who I had to ask for help when desk was unattended) was quite rude. On level 3 the floor smelt like vomit around the lift and in the stairwell to the hot tub, was pretty average. Am not sure we would recommend or stay again

Due to our architecture that was designed to emulate a Swiss alpine chalet, we do have some constraints where windows in some of our rooms are on the small side however, undoubtedly offer magnificent views of Lake Wakatipu. Please note we also have a selection of rooms featuring a Juliet balcony. Our interior designer’s vision was to create a cocooning space to relax in after a day exploring our alpine destination, hence a darker colour palette throughout the building – I am sorry to hear this was not to your liking. Queenie, I’m so sorry you felt your membership was unrecognised however, I assure you we truly value your loyalty and I do hope you enjoyed the complimentary amenities in your room upon arrival. I can assure you we always endeavor to upgrade our elite members and I am so sorry we were fully booked in our premium room types, and were unable to upgrade you this time. Toothbrushes are available on request, as are other amenities our guests may need however, I’ve noted your preference on your profile for future stays. We had only booked for two nights during our tour of nz and found the St. Moritz Queenstown a superbly run hotel and the staff very welcoming and helpful. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food and service were first class.

« Disappointing stay in many regards »

Not good at all. Worst stay in our 3 week holiday in New Zealand. Lack of air conditioning was very surprising and made for some uncomfortable nights. Upon check-in we were assured our Accors Membership would give us access to unlimited WiFi. Never happened and the WiFi was very poor indeed anyway. You had even run out of glasses at your water stop in the foyer at one point when we returned back to the hotel. Maid knocked on door at 9.15 asking when she could clean room was random, but not as much as the odd letter we had under the door re our car parking. Took to reception and they could not fathom it either. $35 per day for car park is extortionate, never mind the extra 1% for paying by credit card, which the receptionist did not mention. To finish the whole stay off, we were not even asked whether everything had been OK on our 3 night stay. Struck us from our experience as a poorly run, complacent hotel, living on the brand it does not live up to.

Good view, good corner, but bad neighbor 555 (querrel every night). Good service, only no ground cloth for bathroom 1 time. Anyway, we are happy to stay in Hotel St. Moritz.
