« Good value in convenient location »

Located five minutes walk from Central Railway Station, very convenient if using public transport to get around Sydney. Very quick access to Airport via rail link. Close to CBD, and good value for money. Perhaps not the best views in Sydney but a modern and well appointed hotel with spacious rooms. Rooms on the northern side viewing the city will get the early morning sun which will wake you if you do not pull down the heavy curtain, but a great view of the bustle of Railway Square.

« Good standard hotel, good location »

The hotel location suited us as we caught the train to Sydney. We found the staff friendly and helpful. The room was tidy and in good condition. Over the long weekend, the breakfast room was very busy with a line-up. However the food on offer was mostly still available. The internet service in our room was very slow (14th floor) - we were not trying to stream, just web / Facebook browsing, however pages often timed out. The pool was a bit on the cool side - particularly for a winter evening.

« Great location and reasonable price »

Good location, parking good price, would of liked a room with a balcony but manager said I had to pay extra. I would of thought after staying there so many times over the last couple of years that they could of given me one with no extra charge. Not worry maybe in 2 weeks when I come back to stay again :)

Very helpful staff. Room was small and didn’t have any lounge chairs to sit. Pool was great. Location was convenient. Breakfast was good. Overall it is very pleasant.

The room was average, needs an upgrade. The air conditioning unit in room 616 was old and not every button worked. The rooms service was good and the service staff who delivered were polite. I ordered a Newspaper to be delivered and it wasn't.

We upgraded our two-night stay to the 13th floor - and on top of that it was our tenth stay, so champagne with strawberries and chocolate sauce arrived. Great start to our weekend. The room was quiet and very comfortable, it also looked out across the city, which we loved. Couldn't have asked for better.

I was pleased with the customer service and facilities at Mercure George St. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for walking to venue and for access from airport. I was very disappointed in the room service meal though. The meal arrived cold to my room and a specific request was totally wrong. As a in-room meal was chosen due to my arrival time I was disatissfied with this service. On the whole though it was a nice stay.
