« Efficient service, excellent hotel room, early check in option invaluable »

I stayed at the Mercure because it offers early check in (for a fee), guaranteeing a room at 8 am. The only hotel I could find that does this. Everything was efficient, I had my room when I arrived. The restaurant and bar were great, though there are many options in the surrounding area. No street noise. Only downside is the pool and gym are pretty basic.

We enjoyed our stay in all regards for the second time we requested an upgrade an we had a high view of the city and last time we were lucky to get a larger room also. We love the location and the staff are friendly and very helpful. Our breakfasts were excellent.

Couldn't fault staff or service. We attended a conference, so ate our breakfasts at the buffet restaurant - friendly, and great food. Comfortable clean room, although a bit hot - we didn't realise we had to turn the ac back on each time we re-entered the room. It would be great if it turned on automatically when card was inserted.

We stayed at your hotel for our Wedding anniversary and Dominic made sure the occasion was very special. The food at dinners could not be faulted. Our room upgrade was beyond our expectation. A couple of minor faults were attended to by a very courteous maintenance man. We will certainly return in the future.

« Location great, hotel needs a spring clean »

Hotel was nice and close to central station. The room we had looked nice, however the bathroom had a bad smell of sewerage and water kept bubbling up from the sink. It was very hot and we had a swim in the pool, the water was quite merky. The breakfast was nice, and the staff were ways friendly, we were checked in early which was a great help.

Overall good, I found everything I needed. Close to some good eateries which was good. One minor point - diections to the gym on 14 floor were a bit obscure (got there in the end!), so suggest they be clarified.
