As usual, friendly, helpful staff, great location and clean, comfortable room. Definitely good value Quiet rooms.. we always sleep so well. We had breakfast this time. Plenty of variety, something to please everyone.

The room fridge was not cold, something must be wrong with it as it was warm when I checked in and all the things I put in it were not cold the next day.

Fabulous hotel, located right in the heart of the city. Stayed there with friends for an event, and it was only a bus ride away to the Opera House and many local attractions, including the wharf for fleet week/yacht expo. It is right in China town, so you will really only have Asian restaurants as options within walking distance unless you venture out further with a car/uber/taxi, etc. The hotel is very clean, pretty, great staff, nice amenities, and has good conference rooms for events. There are two doors to get in the hotel, but only one is handicap accessible as the other is a large flight of stairs by the restaurant. The staff is very kind. My friend ordered room service dessert and because they were out of the thing she ordered, they gave the other option to her complimentary! Another friend left luggage out in the hallway in the middle of the night, forgetting it was out there, and the staff took it down to the main desk so that it would not be stolen, and had it safe and sound when we went looking for it. Great hotel. Nice experience. You will enjoy it and not regret it staying at the Mercure Sydney.

The staff was very polite, friendly and helpful. The room was always clean. The dining options were great especially since we didn't always want to go out. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with all the choices we had.

The facilities were very good. Unfortunately I left my phone charger at home and the Hotel was able to offer a phone charger however the phone charger failed to charge the phone. In fact it actually drained the remaining charge which was a little frustrating. Overall thought the service was pretty good. The bed was a little hard for my liking though it was ok to sleep on. I thought the breakfast buffet was pretty standard which you can get in nearly any hotel. A little more variety would be good.

I have stayed here numerous times over the past 10yrs, its my hotel of choice in Sydney, i get off the train and its just a short walk to the Mercure. The rooms are lovely and clean, the bar is great and the staff are lovely!

I've stayed quite often, but quite a few niggles on this trip which I should bring to your attention. - I got charged for Wifi access, which I'm pretty sure didn't happen before. This is a big step backwards, if you've changed policy. - When I called for a new pillow, everyone was pretty unhelpful. When they eventually agreed to bring me a feather pillow, someone turned up with a latex pillow to which I'm allergic. It was eventually sorted, but frustrating late at night. - I tried to extend my checkout until 7pm, but the policy was very inflexible; I would have been happy to pay another full night at the rate that I had booked, but the only thing you could offer was another nights at full rack rate, over double what I had paid for the other two nights. That the best recommendation was "try booking on Expedia in the morning" I think shows that your process is broken.

I booked 5 rooms for my work colleagues and I. I didn't receive a room upgrade - in fact I was in a very small room with a double bed, not a queen bed which I booked. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food and service was well below the standard I have previously experience at this hotel. My meal was inedible. The Mercure Sydney is my favorite place to stay in Sydney due to the service I usually receive however I will be hesitant to stay again.

When we arrived and entered our room it smelt strongly of cigarette smoke. We were immediately moved into a different room and also given an upgrade to the king room. The room had parts that felt a bit tired, such as the toilet roll holders being loose, but otherwise the stay was great. Most TV channels stopped working for a period of time but that was resolved the next morning. Would have been nice to be able to use proper Chromecast type features as screen mirroring Netflix doesn't work.

I found the location to be perfect- so close to trains and buses so easy to get around. The staff were amazing-we came for my daughters birthday and it was such a lovely personal touch to arrive back at our room to find a lovely card, cake and flowers for my daughters 16th Birthday- what a lovely thoughtful genuine suprise. Our room was spacious and clean. The buffet breakfast was so delicious we could not fault it at all. We will definitely stay here again and already told our friends about the Mecure Sydney 5 stars easy!
