We usually stay at the Mecure Ultimo, being close to transport and an easy walk to Darlin gHarbour. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and great food at both Eves Bar and Main restaurant. We always arrive early in morning to drop off our bags never a hassle. When we arrive later in the day our bags are always in our room waiting. Excellent service!

Hotel was fully booked the night before, hence early check in was quite a challenge (03.11.19). Chad - Asst Front Office, was very accommodating and provided above and beyond service to meet my request for early check in (around 10 am). We have 3 rooms and only 2 were ready. Chad promised to follow up and rang me one hour later to confirm that the room was ready (around 11 am). I am very impress with the time and effort from Chad, despite Front office was quite busy with Check out. We have 3 rooms on Level 14 (#1416 - 1418 -1419). Chad made sure we were all close to each other and informed us that the rooms was recently renovated. I was blown away by the presentation and quality of the room. It's beyond my expectation. All 3 rooms were immaculate. Minor problem with AC and lighting in room #1416, I managed to get house keeping on the floor to check, and She immediately raised the issue with engineering and problem solve in no time. Concierge was quite efficient, and communicated well with FO for baggage delivery. I am sorry I did not get the name of the gentleman on duty at that time. I managed to check swimming pool, sauna and Gym, they are all well maintained. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to utilize the facilities. We have breakfast the next morning (04.11.19). Staffs in the restaurant are very friendly, happy and accommodating. We requested a bowl of salad and they delivered with no hassle. Barista beverages are served, presented and taste beautiful. In summary, We enjoy our stay at Mercure Sydney Central. Location, staffs and condition of the property are beyond expectation. It is 3 1/2 star rating, however for us it feels like 5 stars. Definitely will be back next time we visit Sydney. Until next time

All good except electronic key failed three times over two nights. I have stayed here dozens of times and this happens every time. Years back I was told that it happened as the key was too close to my phone so I made sure that they were separated. Recently I was told that they were a new type of key and the phone should not harm the key. Again this visit three times the key failed and I was asked if it was near my phone. Showed the receptionist where they were on my clothing ie not together. Complained about having to come down three times for new key and was told to ring to save coming down. Don't see how this would save time.

There are 2 points I’d like to bring up. My husband & I were staying at room 542 from Tues 29 Oct - Fri 1 Nov. I believe it was a standard double room. 1) There was only 1 table in the room. We had to place some of our items on the window ledge. This was certainly not ideal as it affected the use of the roller blinds. There were also no drawers for foldable wear, like underwear, socks, nightwear, t-shirts, etc. Only ONE wardrobe for ALL our clothes, but I must say there were sufficient hangers. 2) We had checked in on Tues 29 Oct & upon our return to the room on Wed 30 Oct we were quite upset by the fact that an empty mineral water bottle which we had left INSIDE a coffee cup in the bathroom had disappeared. We needed it for some personal use. Very obviously the room attendant that morning had thrown it away. We would have thrown it away ourselves as the dustbin was just below the basin. We had also left an empty & TORN carton near the door of the room before leaving the room on Wed/Thurs morning as it was too big for the dustbin. But strangely, the TORN box was still there when we returned that afternoon. The room attendant certainly didn’t know what was considered rubbish.
