After arriving back in Australia after a overseas trip I always look forward to my stop over in SYDNEY. I have stayed here on 4 occasions and can highly recommend this motel for location and value for money. It has always been a great stay.

We have stayed at the Mercure Sydney quite a few times & are always very happy with our stay.Our check in experience was excellent & Sara made us feel especially welcome.We enjoyed our welcome drink in the bar & was well looked after by Sariaz.The hotel is in a first class location especially for travellers being close to Central Station & light rail.

« Superb Service »

The service was superb; from everyone. We have stayed there before and were familiar with how good the location was. The main reasons for choosing the Mecure was the location and the pool. My eight year old daughter was reluctant to leave the Hotel because f the pool. One of the under water lights was out which made it a bit creepy for her at night time. The drainage it our bathroom was behaving and smelt like it was just about blocked with sludge. The room was 901.

Always enjoy staying at the hotel, Nothing is too much trouble. Reception and restaurant staff are very friendly and seem to go that extra step to make you feel welcome. Really appreciate the room upgrade, and when we changed our plans and decided to stay and extra day, this was achieved with no problems.

Fourth or fifth time staying at the Mercure. I always enjoy it there. One staff member recognized me from my previous stay 5 months ago which was very nice. Improvement on the wifi would be good though as I struggled a bit with connections this time.

It was ok as what is expected. Let go with good things first. 1. Good offer as A+ with comp drink from the bar. 2. Another good thing is free printing from Business Centre on 2nd floor, even though it is a bit hiden. Now comes my concerns. First thing is noise from roof and from air vent. Luckily, there was one mechanic came up to take it off after I rang receptionist. Got better sleep on the second night. Second thing is that it is better that hotel could offer more umbrella for A+ mem as Sydney was rainy for that particular 3 days of our visit and we had not had a chance to get an umbrella. Third, showering was a bit awkward. There is no curtain to block water falling on floor from our showering. We had to be really careful with wet floor after taking a shower as water kept splashing out of bathtub. Please install curtain. Forth thing is toilet bowl's lid. It kept falling down as we were using it. Please fix it. And it is not a soft close one. That was a bit annoying when we flipped it off. Overall, it is a good stay and value for money as A+ member. PS. I am a Accor person. I used to be a Sales Manager at Accor National Sales Office in Vietnam. Sorry to give so many comments as it is part of my expertise. And I love Accor hotels so far. Thank you for your service.

« Basic but comfortable »

Mercure is well located, comfortable hotel but no "wow" factor about it - it's fairly basic but had everything I needed. Staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast had a good selection, room seemed clean and bed was comfy. One thing I did appreciate was that the chamber maids came up very late one day, around 6pm, after I returned to my room after work and I realised the wrong sign had been on my door so the room hadn't been serviced. I was around the deadline for having the room cleaned so they could have easily refused but they didn't, so this was very much appreciated! Only real disappointment I had is that the pool was freezing and impossible to swim in during the period of my stay. I had chosen the hotel due to the facilities of the pool and gym (in addition to the location) but the pool was so cold I could not swim in it. I guess just unfortunate timing as these things happen but it was out of action for several days. The gym was okay but I would expect there to have been some free weights there (most hotels would have this in their fitness room) and not just machines.
