« Great thalasso with delicious food! »

I came alone for a thalassotherapy... my first one.. The hotel was up to my expectations. I admired the beautiful flower arrangements at the entrance, the service made me feel really special. I had chosen a room with a full sea view and was blissed by the one that was attributed to me. A huge king + sized bed, a little balcony and great view! I signed up for the half board package with a slimming therapy, for which I benefited a nice discount ( was not initially looking for one, but got lucky :-) ) The diet menu was so delicious, I did not feel like being restrained in my eating!! The service at the restaurant was always charming and smiling. One of the waiters even remembered my name on the third day! As for the bar, I also enjoyed a nice service and ate a delicious salad that was served in a record time after I announced I had little time before the next scheduled therapy... I also abused of the concierges: living in Africa, I take advantage of my trips to Europe to order what I need online; so I had packages delivered to the hotel and even one misplaced order sent back... So even the concierges knew my name and very diligently helped me with all my deliveries...

AS USUAL TREATEMENTS WAS VERY GOOD ,WELL DONE, OLKD STAFF TRAINERS ARE VERY GOOD, NEW ONE NEED MORE EXPOERIENCE AS FOR THE HOTEL ACCOMODATION AS USUAL, ROOM VERY CLEAN, BED CONFORTABLE, ROOM SERVICE GOOD, HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE IS VERY GOOD WE DONT APPRECIATE JOINING THE DIETETIC REST WITH THE NORMAL RESTAURANT, FOR BREAKFAST,LUNCH,DINER ,DIETETIC FOOD WAS MUCH BETTER BEFORE, MENU WERE MORE ATTRACTIVE, CARE WAS BETTER AT LUNCH AND DINER, BAR SERVICE NOT A LEVEL NEEDED IN SUCH HOTEL DURING THIS PERIOD, RECEPTIUON/CONCIERGE VERY GOOD SERVICE

« Best team & great hotel »

Except for the outside builing that is not the most beautiful one, the rest of the hotel is great: entrance, rooms, spa. But the best part are the people: from reception to restaurant, bar & spa, all extremely kind and helpful & going the extra mile. Just few scenes that repeated themselves throughout the 3 days: pro-actively speaking to guests who seem to be looking for something and not only answering the question but accompanying the guests to the place they were looking for. And all in a very kind way.

« Thalasso break in Biarritz »

The hotel was nice, the staff very friendly, the location is superb. Small minus, I booked a sea view room and only had very partial seaview. The end of the treatments in the spa more or less coincided with the last possible check-out time and staff were surprised about this. It was extended by 2h, but still, this should be automatic when you book. I definitely intend to come back but with a different room.

« Bad experience in a fine hotel »

Impossible to sleep because of the noise from the ventilation system. The noise was constant during the 2 nights we stayed at this hotel. Wind against the windows is normal in Biarritz, but for the wind to get into the ventilation system creating a noise like a storm "inside the room" was totally unacceptable

« Lack of A/C Cooling Made for a Poor Stay »

As it turns out, this hotel has an ancient heating/cooling system, which is switched to cooling in the summer and heating in the colder months. Upon our arrival in late October the system was already switched to heating, even though the area was experiencing above normal, almost summer like temperatures. As a result, we had no way to cool our room. Opening the balcony was not an option either due to all the smokers having a puff on adjacent balconies. They did provide a portable fan for our room but it didn't help much. Had I known this five star hotel had such an ancient heating/cooling system I would have stayed elsewhere. Instead, sleep was hard to come by in our sweltering room, particularly since we were with an 9mo old infant. Disappointed.

We had booked a Junior Suite, and were given Room 318, which was well presented, but as a Gold Member of the Fidelity Programme, I had hoped we would be on the other side of the hotel, looking over the pool. It was to be several days of relaxation for us after a very difficult Summer. Also, there was some construction work taking place in the building opposite the suite and it was very noisy from 8am to 5pm, as they were installing scaffolding. and we were overlooked by the workmen!! Otherwise, the hotel and staff were as excellent as they always are.

« “Comfortable stay with great facilities - albeit a little expensive” »

Positives. Room was very comfortable and beds extremely soft and lovely. Toiletries were excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. The Spa was excellent. Relatively central, and far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Excellent coffee supplied in the rooms with good coffee machine. Overall, lovely hotel to stay in providing you get a good rate. Negatives. We were situated over the entrance and reception area which was very noisy during the night when deliveries were taking place. Prices within the hotel were expensive - ie. drinks / food. Swimming pool was busy and noisy at times (when weather wasn't too good). English breakfast tea in the rooms is a must as they only provided herbal teas (although you can request it).
