Overall it was satisfactory but calls to the front desk were mostly unanswered, as there was only one staff manning the front desk. I wanted to ask for hot water and iron so I had to call the front desk but gave up most time. This is my only complain.

This hotel is well placed for onward travel from Gare de L'est . Typical IBIS style it gives you what you pay for. adequate accommodation and good breakfast. Staff pleasant and as always good English speakers.

Situated on the outskirts of the centre the hotel offers good accom with breakfast facilities and a bar.The staff are friendly and helpful. There is easy access to the city centre either walking or by public transport

Comfortable, although rather small, room, shower floor could be slippery, pleasant helpful staff on arrival, good location for restaurants and shops. I do not use a 'smart' phone or carry my lap top and so there was no point in sending me an email on the 9th relating to fast check out but this might explain why the receptionist on duty, who was standing outside having a chat with a colleague when I checked out, did not come in to the desk although I made my presence clear !

Arrived in Paris after travelling for around 12 hours. having paid an extra €20 for early check in (9am) we arrived to be told check out isn’t until 12 so they have to wait for a room to become empty... WHY OFFER THE SERVICE OF AN EARLY CHECK IN?!!? Had to sit and wait in reception for about a hour and a half for a trim to become available. Was told my money would be refunded for the early check in as we didn’t get it... Never happened! Very disappointing. Hotel itself was nice and clean once inside, what you’d expect.

Clean, nice room....reception not very helpful...we asked a packed 2 sandwiches and 1 coffee as for our departure we had to leave at 4 o'clock in the morning! Nobody knew anything although we have asked from the evening!

My sister bought flights to Paris for my 30th birthday. Although she wanted us to stay in a small hotel in the city, I encouraged her to stay at Ibis. Earlier in the year, we stayed in a lovely Ibis Budget hotel in Krakow, which was absolutely lovely. As the Ibis at Gare de L’est was rated as a more luxury style than the Ibis Budget we had used in Poland, we were quite looking forward to the visit. I booked the hotel from Thursday 10th August to Monday 14th August, as my sister wanted to be in Paris early to prepare for our weekend. My flight would arrive late on 11th August so I sent my sister the booking confirmation and the details of my Ibis loyalty card so that she could check-in for us. The full payment was taken from my card in full on 25th July. I was disgusted when my sister called me from the hotel saying she was unable to check-in without showing my credit card. It does not state this condition anywhere on the email. My sister told me that the hotel would not accept the email confirmation, nor would they accept me explaining the situation by phone. My sister explained that I would be arriving the following evening, but the staff insisted that she pay for all four nights again. They insisted that it would be refunded once I arrived, so my sister found herself with no choice and had to pay €230. My sister incurred a £5 fee from her bank for using her bank card abroad. She also lost £2 in exchange rates and was charges £1 per day for being in an unarranged overdraft with her bank. In total, my sister incurred charges amounting to £14 for a room which had already been paid for two weeks before our trip (circa €15.50). When I arrived on Friday evening, I was told that my sister could not get a refund as the manager was not present. The reception assistant, called Mohamed, refused to call a manager about the refund and said that he could do nothing to help us before the next day. He told me that the manager would arrive at 9 o’clock, and that I should return to reception at this time. I asked him to call our room (room number 408) at 9 o’clock to ensure we could arrange a refund. There was no call to the room at 9 o’clock (on Saturday 12th August) as Mohamed had agreed, so I went to reception at 10 o’clock to obtain the refund. I was told (this time by a female receptionist, with no name badge) that the manager had not arrived. The receptionist told me that the refund could not be given without a manager to approve it. My sister had arranged for us to have breakfast at a café a short walk from the hotel. I asked the receptionist to call me on my mobile phone, when the manager returned so that the refund could be given to my sister. We returned at 12 o’clock to collect our bags for the afternoon. When I asked for the manager at reception, I was surprised that the manager had arrived and that I had not been called as the receptionist had promised. Reluctantly, the manager arranged for the refund to be given to my sister. However, the manager informed my sister that it would take until Friday 18th August for the refund to appear in her account. This meant my sister suffered more fees, as I outlined above. There are several ways that this could have been avoided and our experience improved. The email confirmation should have specified that the credit card used to book the hotel needed to be shown at check-in. Also, there should have been a way which my sister could have retained the room without paying for all four nights. For example, a cash payment for one night could have been held on reception until the following day. This would have prevented my sister incurring costs of £14, and the refund could have been given quickly and easily. Also the attitude of the staff, including the manager, left a lot to be desired. The receptionists and staff had no empathy for our situation and offered no compensation to us for the cost and inconvenience we had experienced. I am very upset by our experience. Although I have used Accor hotels regularly for our travels in the past, I am hesitating to suggest them for our future plans. My sister and I are planning to spend a night in Leister on 1st December. Although the Ibis hotel is convenient for our plans, I am reluctant to spend £50 on an evening at the hotel if it may result in an inconvenient and costly experience for us. I would be keen to hear how Ibis feel about our experience, and how it hopes to prevent similar situations in future. Kind regards, Alison

Enjoyed my stay, the hotel met with the usual Ibis standards. Rooms were clean and well maintained, staff were helpful and friendly. Good assortment of choices for the buffet breakfast. Will certainly stay at this hotel again when visiting Paris.

« Nice cosy hotel for short city break »

Booked 2 rooms for 1 night. Found the hotel without any problems, good location. Staff were very friendly. Rooms are a bit small, but then again most city hotel rooms are. Rooms and bathroom was clean. Checked out in the morning, but came back before we left Paris to the hotel to freshen up and staff let us use bathroom without any issues.

It was pretty easy to navigate thru this train station, Gare de l'Est. A lot of small shops and bistros. But at night it can be a little challenging. There were 6 of us, so ... We Googled a maroccan restaurant and it was a Michelin mentioned eatery 👍🏼🙏🏼👍🏼🙏🏼

« Ok except for rebooking in another room »

I was disappointed as the booking was preapproved, and then the hotel changed the booking without informing me. Another preapproval was placed on my credit card, so I ended up with 2 preapprovals. The female on reception was excellent, and did not know why the booking was changed, my understanding was we were moved from one hotel to the one on the other side of the road, but were not informed. We paid using a different credit card, and I asked if the approvals could be removed, but they are still showing on my credit card today.
