The room was nice and clean and functional. What we expect from the Grand Mercure. The restaurant service was average, with us waiting a long time to be served, a long time for food to arrive, and a long time for the plates to be cleared.

« Wonderful stay! »

From check-in to departure, we had a great stay at the Grand Mecure Wellington. Very efficient check-in, and being able to get into our room at 10:30 in the morning was a real treat. The room itself was very pleasant, lovely view of the city. Location is good, with a short walk into town. All staff interactions were really good, and breakfast was great. Will definitely stay again, the hotel and staff made our weekend in Wellington really special.

Had a meeting room booked which wasn't set up and had the left over cups and notepads still in the room. Also had issues with our hotel rooms being charged back despite our travel people phoning to sort this out the previous day. On a positive note, the rooms are very nice and the food was delicious.

This was my first time staying at Grand Mercure. It was a fantastic experiece. Right from check in till check out all my interaction with all the staff concerned were fantastic. All were very polite and helpful. My room was right by the elevators and I was slightly worried at first but I had no disturbance issues. Your staff dealt with that very well too told me to come back to them and change rooms if needed. I didn't it was fine. The room was so clean I was too worried to use the amenities!

Wonderful stay everything from check in to check out was perfect! The staff on arrival (monique and Jared) were fabulous, friendly and very helpful. We also held our event pre gathering in the forage bar 2 nights in a row with the assistance of the bar staff it all came together fantastically and our guests gave feedback about how lovely and comfortable the forage bar lounge was so thank you Jared and the forage team. Lastly the rooms.. WOW! Loved the decor and plush carpet. Also the beds were super comfy i had the best sleep after a long full on few days. I must say we did have a laugh about the glass bathroom doors that you can see through from the beds due to the wardrobe mirror placed directly opposite the glass bathroom doors. Not a huge bother if you were a couple and i think we all understood the rooms we had were designed as a double or couples room. Still in my opinion was the best stay and service i have ever experienced from any accomodation suppliers so thank you grand mercure wellington. Jade and your fabulous team on behalf of Karena, Kasey and the creation dinner team we thank you all.

As above, great rooms, however the food that was served for a $35 buffet lunch was not satisfactory, the overall food quality is not at the level I know Accor would be happy with. Very small thing, of which I don't eat, however in the meeting room there were some 12 mints, these were not once topped up upon coffee breaks.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The duty manager Jarod was fabulous offering us lots of advice as this was our first time in wellington. The young fellow at check in seemed unsure on how to deal with my accor membership. When I asked about a view he was also unsure. The room was comfortable and despite the location was warm.

I think i booked the best room on offer with the deluxe so assumed there wasnt a room upgrade available based on that. I always hung up towels but noted that most days i had fresh towels even though you promote reuse for water saving etc.
