« Very comfortable, well catered for even if it did push the budget a bit!! »

Lovely food, comfortable room, staff were considerate and courteous. My only (very minor) criticism that I fed back at the time was that the sparkling water could have been colder or served with ice. At the next meal it was so whether the first occasion was out of the ordinary I'm not sure.

« Very happy with our stay. Staff were pleasant and atentive. Very nice buffet breakfast with good views over the city.. »

Enjoyed our stay although the room was quite small. The shower needed a grab rail for older people and it was a bit disconcerting stepping down out of the shower. Beds were very comfortable, staff and meals were good. The location is not ideal for anyone without transport but even with the windows open at night it was quiet. Overall, very good.

« First Time Staying »

After my first time being at the hotel I had mixed emotions. I had a great start to being welcomed and the room with a view was great. Just after I had to go back to the reception and was told as I had a Hybrid car that my car parking will be free that is great I wish that more Hotels would do this? The bad part of my experience was when I went to the Restaurant and the person there said he will be with me in a moment, that was fine. I then see another Customer in that the person recognized that it was a returning Customer to find that they straight away grabbed a menu and seated them and continued on a conversation with them totally ignoring me. not very well and I stood there waiting and walked out as I was not happy. I was working away in my room and thought that I would get room service and rang 5 times over an hour to get through not very good service. The steak sandwich turned up with a 1/4 a piece of steak on a piece of Ciabatta very disappointing for $28 very below standard. Other than that it was a good experience.

My daughter and I felt comfortable and relaxed while staying in Mercure. Room service are nice and quick. We don't need to worry about to much after finished meals, just putting all plates out the doors and someone collecting them quietly. We enjoyed staying at Mercure the two nights while in Wellington.

Disappointed an upgrade for Accor Gold member unavailable on arrival. But understand this is not a given. Would have been nice to be offered another benefit instead. Was given a key for floor 3 when the room should have been on the 9th floor. Left luggage on the 3rd floor to return to reception. Had to be given access to the 3rd floor to retrieve my luggage. The hotel staff should have done this for me. Their mistake, my inconvenience. The room booked on the 9th floor was nice. The view was good. A Nespresso coffee machine, but limited number of coffee capsules available. Robes and slippers part of the room choice enjoyable. The chaise lounge and Bose sounds system particularly nice touch. The lighting was difficult to work out. The carpet worn and stained in places. The bathroom somewhat small. Wardrobe/storage space limited. Room service variable. Waited over an hour for delivery. Called to enquire. Apology given. Told the restaurant was busy but they accepted that was not excuse. Order cancelled. Could have offered something for inconvenience but nothing. On another night attended restaurant for dinner before a show. Had mentioned to room service we would be doing this. On arrival All window seats were reserved. Would have been nice to be warned that reservations were necessary for a good seat. Again no apparent regard for Gold Membership. We left and took the business elsewhere. I came here for the first time last year. I re call then service was a let down. It seems service continues to let this hotel down. I really like the location, facilities and look of the hotel. But given the service level hasn't improved after a year, I won't be returning again.

I loved this place it met my needs with no alcohol. I enjoyed the pool and the Buffet that was included but most of all I liked that you could checkout after 10am I am nocturnal for work and was very beneficial to me.

The hotel itself is nice and the location is great. Rooms and restaurant have great views. Restaurant was also better than I expected; I enjoyed it a lot! Staff was generally friendly and helpful. That all said, the room itself was good, but not great. For a Grand Mercure, I expected more. A summary: - One side of the bed had a big dent in the mattress (which wasn't a big deal since I was alone and could use the other, but it shouldn't happen) - After consuming the complementary water bottles, they were not replaced with full ones. Even if not complementary, I'd be nice to always have drinking water available in the room. - The snacks in the drawer weren't always refilled - A used glass wasn't replaced with a clean one

Unfortunately our issue was with housekeeping. Toilet paper wasn't re-stocked. Soap was not re-stocked. All of the dirty glasses from the previous evening were left there and no new, clean glasses were provided. I called to have this rectified and it took almost 45 minutes, which was not acceptable as we waited for a clean glass to have a drink.

A superb experience from the moment we arrived to the minuet we left. The team from General Manager right through went above and beyonbd to ensure that we were well looked after. My four year old daughter was having an operation and when we returned after her surgery she was welcomed back to the room with balloons and toys which made her feel really special.
