We greatly appreciated the little touches like the fruit basket on arrival and the bottle of water in our car on departure. Our room was very comfortable (would have liked a few drawers). It was lovely to look out over the harbour and city. The Reception and Concierge staff were excellent.

« Staff in all areas the best, room was better than others we have stayed in. »

We were treated very well indeed. The room (904) was one of the best we have stayed in thanks to the duty manager who had noted that we were staying for two weeks and upgraded us. The requirement for opening windows was taken care of thanks.. The staff in general were excellent and we got to know them during our stay. The valet parking system worked very well without any significant delays. Breakfast was included in our package and all tastes were catered for. My wife has some wheat and dairy intolerances but thanks to your staff we coped very well. My own birthday was also noted by the duty manager , a very nice touch.

The check in was very good, polite and welcoming. The room, 909, was the worst room I have stayed in with you. The shower/toilet door didn't open and close properly as it kept sticking on the carpet. The room was quite dusty, and the noise/voices through the connecting door were very loud. I have always enjoyed my visits to your hotel but this wasn't up to my expectations. I even missed the handwritten welcoming note I usually find in my room.

Nice views from the bar/restaurant, nice to have cookies and tea at the entrance, well-insulated so quiet at night, very comfortable bed, great to have access to a pool and sauna (thought the sauna was not very hot). Nice to receive complementary drink vouchers.

First night incredibly noisy through the door next door. Didn't want a small single bed but that is all I had in the room. I got moved the following night to a much quieter room however I was already very tired and grumpy by then. No compensation or anything for a terrible first night.

Staff were lovely, reception areas and bar were nice and the buffet breakfast was really good. My only neg comment would with be the room. While the bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet (bonus for central Welly) it was quite small and the aircon unit was very noisy. Didnt use the gym or pool but did take a look and they looked good.

Was comfortable and had great modern facilities. The lighting on my floors corridor felt dim. In our conference room it was very spacious, but lacked in vegan food for morning tea which was highly disappointing especially after informing I was vegan. The positives of the room i stayed in was very tidy and had a great sized bed. Negatives were that I felt the walls were very thin as I could hear other people talking, coughing, toilets and could hear everything clearly on their TV late at night which was unpleasant.

Spent the week exploring Wellington with my partner and decided to treat ourselves on the last night booking in to the grand Mercure! The staff were friendly and helpful, the room had spectacular views, the bed was comfy and the cocktails down at the bar were Devine! Will definitely be staying again! I found your reception staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. But my room service lacking, with at least one idem missing on each day of my breakfast orders. Key things items, like bread or milk. House keeping was also variable, they failed to stock the tea and coffee, and toilet paper, but changed my towels even though I hung the "re-use" sign. Overall, beautiful hotel! And great services available. Good gym set up.

« The perfect weekend getaway »

Our stay was perfect, the room was lovely and clean and we had everything we needed. It was also made extra special by the team having a birthday card and beers in our room on arrival for my boyfriends birthday - really such a nice touch so thank you so much! We lthen later received some chocolates to our room! We definitely felt very looked after. The hotel bar was also lovely staff were very friendly. We had the buffet breakfast on the morning we left and it was delicious and again the staff were very polite and friendly! Thank you again for a wonderful stay! We had the best time!
