Definitely worth the room rate. Our stay was very comfortable, the room decor, the lovely bed (the pillows were even good quality!) and the quality of the bathroom was very good indeed. The breakfast was nicely done and the barista did a good job.

Room was clean and tidy, a bit small with poor view. However this is no reflection on the hotel. Very high standards of customer care and food in restaurant was of the highest order. The young lady on reception even offered us 4 bottles of water for our long car journey. Top effort. Many thanks

The hotel appeared clean and tidy. Styled well.. Couple of points to improve on. The front desk person may have been new - but I found that we weren't given a lot of information that I would normally expect. E.g confirmation on whether breakfast was included and where it was located Last point: The glass bathroom sliding door... Not so good.

Check in was quick and easy. Room comfortable and welcoming. Only downside was another guest who decided to have a conversation with someone outside our room at 12.30am. I felt like opening the door and joining in the conversation. It was inconsiderate and it showed that the door entry area to the rooms should have soundproofing, to ensure a better stay.

Apart from the problems with your internet policy, everything else was wonderful, food, location, views and staff attentiveness. But the internet access policy coloured everything. Being told that only three devices could be attached per room is not acceptable in this day and age. Even guests on holiday will have an iPad and mobile phone and some will have both business and personal phones. 1000mb is also not acceptable in either. Within a couple of hours of being in the hotel I was sent a rude message saying I had exceeded this limit which was impossible. At a previous hotel I used 400mb over two days. I am also signed up with the Accorhotel club which is supposed to give unlimited internet access yet there is no place on the sign in website to use the club number and even having told the staff that I was a member I was continually being logged out and sent rude messages. You need to update the way this works urgently. I Do not feel inclined to using your hotel chain again. Everywhere else gave unlimited internet access or as good as (one hotel gave 10gigabites).

I did have a look into what happened, and I am afraid that we did not have the correct membership information on your booking in our system, therefore the internet login page did not automatically give you the complimentary internet option, which you should have received as a loyal member. Stayed 12 nights. Air conditioning in dining room did not work for over half of the stay. Made pre paid breakfast uncomfortable and eating in the restaurant of an evening not an option due to the heat. Room was not serviced on one day - there was not a do not disturb sign on a any point. Room was always hot in the morning despite thermostat being set to low. Laundry service not available on the weekend. When I handed in my laundry at 7:50 on Monday morning and asked for confirmation that it would be delivered back the same day I was told the drop off time was 7:30 even though it says 8:15 on the form. This got resolved only because I asked. Otherwise I assume I would not have received it until the next day which would have left me with no clean clothes. Observed room being serviced on several occasions as I was present. Was upset by the fact that wine glasses that had been used were only cleaned in the bathroom sink on every occasion. No cloth or washing liquid was taken in to the bathroom. When I asked one cleaner they advised they rinsed the glass and wiped it with a towel. The only towels in the bathroom at that time were used bath, floor and hand towels. The glasses were then placed back in the drawer. Had we checked out, the next guest would have had glassed rinsed and dried with our used towels. Concerned that we used glasses that were only rinsed and dried with another guests used towels before we used them and did not realise this. Seems very unsanitary and was very concerning. Was no quiet business area to make or receive business calls after checkout. All areas were playing music and none were private or had private areas. Staff were friendy when approached.

You are right this should have not happened. We are aware of the air conditioning challenges, which our Technical team is indeed looking into, however on such warm days as these, it can remain difficult to cool some areas in the hotel down. Normally we offer our guests to move rooms in such case, I do hope we have offered you that option? At Grand Mercure Wellington we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; on this occasion we have clearly not been able to do that for your stay. Especially because you stayed with us for 12 days, we could have done so much better, and I am sorry for that. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problems you have mentioned to us, to prevent future occurrence. It was a very pleasant stay made all the more special by your kind gesture of putting a card and a bottle of wine in our room to celebrate our anniversary and this surprise made our 25th anniversary even more special. We got an upgrade due to Accors membership. The swimming pool and gym were great and the parking valet service was good. Loved the room and it was just outside the centre so quiet but near to the cinema for us. We liked the lift which helped with the steep hill

Over all ok, staff and service were great! rooms are nice, clean and well presented. your sound proofing though needs some serious work. There was a group that stayed up all night in the room above me and I know that is no fault of the hotel but I could hear them word for word till 6am and also literally hear the people next door going to the bathroom as though I was in the same room. Not so pleasant.
