The hotel is new with spectacular view of Wellington town. The room amenities has exceeded my expectations especially the USB port next to the bed and the socket for 3 pin plug at the desk which are extremely impressive! Gillian from Singapore

Policy of not washing towel if hung up was not adhered to - I had to put a do not disturb sign on my door to stop my towels being washed and impacting adversely on the environment. The hotel does not display any commitment to the environment. There were no low pillows provided - I had to not use a pillow. Despite the information in the room indicating that walking maps were available from reception, staff at reception were unable to provide any meaningful maps (only a very large scale map which did not identify walking / running routes). The iron did not work and the staff member I reported this to did not know how to address the issue. It was some time before I was issued with a working iron. Overall, very dissatisfied with a so called 5 star hotel.

Dining staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, and unfortunately not attentive to diner needs eg refilling water glasses before being asked, knowledge of what was in vegetable dishes, difficult to hail when needing replacement cutlery, very long pauses between courses when they were not available to order Bedroom was very nice, thank you

The room had obviously been redecorated and restyled so was comfortable and very nice environment. The same went for the bar etc so the whole hotel was a nice place to be.

« Good stay apart from the noise »

The hotel was great, the food was fantastic. The only things that weren't great was the layout of the room, the main door doesn't open fully due to the placement of the stopper and the shower design ends up flooding the bathroom. I can live with that though. The only really negative was being woken up at 3 in the morning with the wind whistling around the windows. Maybe check the weather seals.

One thing I really enjoyed here was the staff. I throughly enjoyed the smile and helpfulness that they all had but also that they were greeting me in te reo maori. It just made my heart happy after a day of filming long hours to come back and be greeted by such lovely people.

Generally we had a great stay. However there was no milk supplied on any of the days, we had to ring reception and ask for some on the second day. We then had a staff member knock on our door late on Saturday night when we had only been back in the room about 5 minutes telling us to keep our noise down when we had made none. Was very surprised and taken back by this!
