Hotel is completely renovated, and brilliantly so. Great design, modern clean lines integrates well with the original architecture, nice lobby, really good restaurant, unbeatable pool with a view of the entire Copa beach. Spa is also very good.

Good customer service, nice atmosphere, lovely room with two balconies and views across the city. Well located for Ipanema Beach which we tended to visit instead of Copacabana. The front area of the hotel is very cluttered and somewhat messy, and Uber drivers repeatedly got confused driving us there, nearly always going to the back of the hotel. Room was comfy and well designed. The shower was a bit confusing, the only way one could get the hand-shower to work was by holding down a high-pressure button, which meant it was hard to wash AND hold the button down simultaneously.

It was excellent - the hotel is very clean and comfortable. The terrace and outside space is particularly impressive. The staff were very helpful and attentive.

The staff of the hotel and especially the club floor were outstanding. Even the doorman at the hotel knew my name when I arrived. In general my experience was very good. The only two points I think it deserves attention is regarding the smell in the room. Despite the hotel is fully remodelled and everything seems to be new, the room smelled like an old hotel. The second point is regarding the service in the swimming pool that is very slow as I believe the sauim pool areas are understaffed. We tried for several times to ask for some drinks and took more than 10 minutes for the staff to see us calling them. Twice we finally ordered and the attendant forgot our order, clearly he was doing several things at the same time. In addition, several people were leaving the chairs around the swimming pool and nobody came to clean the tables, remove the towels from the chairs or to assist us.

I would like to have a working desk for PC.

I love the new look of the hotel - very stylish and beautifully designed. As platinum member I got an upgrade to suite which was lovely. Breakfast buffet was delicious, served beautifully and staff went above and beyond to make me some hot water, ginger, lime and honey drink for my cold! I also had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious but perhaps could have had more variety of food and also non gluten options - salads and vegetables. The same applies to breakfasts - would have been nice to have more vegetables/ salads too. Rooms are beautifully decorated and wonderful to have coffee/ tea facilities and of course a welcome drink/ fruit. One thing only is that there was no bathrobe in the bathroom so I had to ask for it. It is fine, but I would expect that bathrobes would be provided for such a 5 star hotel. I loved my stay and will definitely stay again and recommend the hotel.

Disappointment sums up our stay. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everything fell far short of what you would expect of a 5 star hotel. The shower flooded 3 or 4 times, the room was not cleaned on time and as a result we couldn't go to a football match we had already bought tickets for. Poor performance all round.

Dear All, Room Enviornment: I have reported that my room 1044 the toilet is not smelling good, special during the night. I am forced to keep the door closed to avoid the propagation of the bad small to be in all room. Seems that no actions were taken to resolve the problem. Payment System: I have used the AccorHotels/Fairmont for the hotel reservation, the way your system was setup the client full pay for the room, however, the client cannot get the full stay invoice until check-out. The problem is that AMEX is asking to submit the expenses report and deadline is 30 days, I am incur to pay later fees :(...

The hotel is beautiful, luxurious, but the decoration is a bit chilly, the guest doesn’t feel really warmly welcome... It’s not a question of staff. They are excellent, smiling and helpful... it’s a matter of atmosphere. And there are so many details which need to be fixed. No bathrobes in the apartments!!! The explanation was “we’re having problems with our supplier”... not really acceptable. A bathrobe was finally found, but I had to insist through various different channels... No hot water in the bathroom... how can this be possible in such a chic hotel... Having to pack up at 1pm to go to another apartment with hot water... sounds a joke. Pieces of a sliding door falling down when the door is being closed... The socket of the TV set energy cable hanging out of the wall... I guess the whole hotel needs a close look to ensure it is all perfect. Nothing but perfection is acceptable at this level of hotel... A big effort has to be done. It’s worthwhile doing it.

Poor check-in. Left in lobby for 5 hours waiting for a room on a rainy day in a half-empty hotel. What I discovered is they'd upgrade my room a was waiting for the late check-out to leave. It was nice to get the upgraded room but I'd have preferred the room I booked and to have checked in earlier. The Fairmount has had a great facelift well done. The staff are young and don't have the level of experience you'd expect at a 5-star hotel. Perhaps things will settle down in a few months. The military-style security personnel on every floor of the hotel is overkill. The pools are lovely, the food average the rooms great.

Arrived late in Rio, went to sleep. In the morning the lights found out most of lights were not working and also no flush in the toilet. Waited from 10am till 3 pm for another room at same category to get ready. I have a small child, and they made us wait at lobby/ pool area. In room service served with non cooked chips. Finally put on another similar room, had a shower and bathroom flooded. No one seemed to concerned.

I was staying at the Hilton and didn't like the age of the facilities and switched in the middle of my stay to the Fairmont and couldn't be any more happier with that switch. The facilities and staff are top notch. The only thing they need to improve is the breakfast, not sure how you mess out oatmeal and scrambled eggs, but they were consistently bad (the view from the restaurant is nice, but the food is not good). Had lunch on the first check in day and it read whole fish on the menu and what we got was two pieces of filet of fish. The waiter at first attempted to say it was how they served it and then indicated that it was an error on the menu. If they can tighten up on the restaurant's consistency they have a 100% winner. The gym is 100% The staff are 100% The Facilities are 100% The location is 1000% I give the restaurant view/location 100% I give the breakfast a 25% of 100 rating I will stay here again on my next visit to Rio! Outstanding facilities and staff.
