This is the best hotel we have stayed at in all our travels.Location,location,location.The views are spectacular.Great breakfasts.Didn't try dinner as we normally had a late lunch in town.It is only a 10 minute and 12 euro taxi ride or you could pay $1.50 on the funicular down to the beach and take a leisurely walk into town.

« A very enjoyable stay. »

Excellent Reception and Accommodation. Breakfast and Dinner were disappointing with cold fried eggs and very tough meat for dinner.

« Spectacular situation overlooking Donostia »

Fabulous location - however ideally you need a car (to get there at least). We found a local bus stop about 8 minutes walk away. Impressive public rooms and breakfast overlooking La Concha beach spectacular. However very disappointed that our 'privilege' room had not been very well cleaned on arrival, mini bar not working and the contents of the waste basket in bathroom not emptied, not nice! Following a call to 'guest satisfaction' we were immediately moved to another room. I thought it very strange that we weren't asked what was the problem? I had to point out to the lady who assisted us the issues with the room. The room itself very spacious, fabulous view again however short cuts on cleaning. The balcony floor had broken tiles and pieces of debris, the two plastic chairs were dirty and when the sun shone the windows had been rubbed but not shinned. With regard to our welcome on arrival, there is nobody present at the reception desk, staff are obviously sitting behind and come out fairly quickly, however it would be much nicer to see a friendly face on entering the building. Levels of 'friendliness' varied.

poor to say the least, we have stayed with you before and had a great experience and recommended the hotel to other people , but we now feel you are just living on your location and do not care about your clients. The staff in the restaurant were some of the worst we have come across in the 12 days we were in Spain ,the only person who showed any interest in his job was the bar man , I would not recommend your hotel to any body . regards very disgruntled clients.

« Great hotel but had issue with room »

Loved the view from the hotel. Great restaurant. We had a mix up with our room though and we're given two single beds instead of a double and staff were unable to accomodate a change in rooms to a double room.

Efficient service, clean well presented room, spectacular view, beautiful bar and lounge area withcomplimentary welcoming coffee and snack. We had dinner in the dining room overlooking the bay of San Sebastian, the food was well prepared however having ordered fish plates we were surprised to find that a piece of fish was all that was served. We had to request additional vegetables to complement the meal. These were served quite quickly on request.

« Great location great staff and great food  »

The views and facilities at this hotel provided the basis of a great weekend from the moment we arrived. The staff at reception in the bar and restaurants were extremely friendly and helpful , whilst our main reason to visit San Sebastian was to experience the atmosphere and the special cuisine on offer and our stay at this hotel enhanced our enjoyment of this experience

« Perfect stay away in a beautiful setting. »

We were blown away by the stunning setting of the hotel. The hotel has been very tastefully renovated. The communal areas are just gorgeous Hope the remainder of the bedrooms will be updated and renovated soon too? The restaurant, bar and cleaning staff were all friendly, helpful, professional and did their jobs very efficiently and well. The receiption staff were also professional and helpful. We changed our room on arrival as we did not want single beds. Although the hotel was full your receptionist was very attentive, listened to us and managed to allocate us a double bedded room. It was on the corner, overlooking the south coast line and was lovely. Lovely views. Even though it was an older room, it was still clean and very comfortable. My only grumble with your hotel is that the staff at receiption were not very welcoming or friendly. No smiley welcome or warm feeling when we walked in at any point of our stay. They all seemed very serious and perhaps need to try a more welcoming approach to guests. Saying that they did help us out when we needed it.

I had read the reviews on TripAdvisor before the stay and was not expecting a good experience and we were pleasantly surprised that it was not too bad. The standard room which we stayed in was a little bit shabby but not enough to bother us as it was clean. However, all rooms should have tea and coffee making facilities this is standard not a privilege, especially in a 4 star hotel. When we spoke to your receptionist (who was quite rude) she said that hotels in Spain do not usually supply tea and coffee in the rooms but I have visited in Spain many, many times and this is the first time this has happened. I didn't even need the tea and coffee as I brought some it was just the kettle and cups. As the hotel is so isolated, the bar should open before 11 am for people who do not want breakfast to be able to buy tea, coffee and snacks etc. The coffee shop should open at 9 am and offer takeaway options for the same reasons. Miguel in the bar was really nice, friendly and helpful. And also Temel (I think) was very helpful on our last day as my sister hurt her leg and couldn't walk far and he called the airport for us to try and get assistance.

The view was magnificent however this was the only positive aspect about this hotel.

Lovely hotel and the position was superb. We experienced a slight problem with noise from the adjoining room due to the connecting door (we could hear the shower running and the people speaking quite clearly). We were offered another room but as we had unpacked and were only staying the one night we declined the offer. As it happened, after we had reported the problem, we heard nothing at all from the other room - maybe they complained too and decided to move! Staff are lovely and very helpful and the food both at dinner and breakfast is excellent. We also stayed on the Monday night and stayed in a privilege room on the 4th floor (number 426). Sadly, there were a number of problems with this room. The air conditioning was not working and consequently we had to open the door to the balcony but had to then close this due to the terrible smell from outside. Housekeeping needs also to do a more thorough check - there was a glass left on our bed, only half a toilet roll which was left on top of the toilet, about 6 tissues in the box on the wall and no shower cap or slippers. I appreciate that these are small details (well, not the air conditioning) but if you are staying in one of the privilege rooms, these small details should not be overlooked. That said, we still enjoyed ourselves and would certainly recommend it to our friends. One other small point, when booking the hotel it would be a good idea to tell guests that when they arrive at the barrier and are asked to pay the toll, they should show their reservation details so that they do not have to pay the toll. We didn't realise this the first time we stayed. We shall give you a positive review on Trip Advisor.

Stunning hotel location with refurbished rooms and public areas however, some attention should be spent on the ambience in the lobby bar and restaurant. It's too bright of an evening, (feels like a shopping centre). No music, not enough staff to clear or wait tables. The view is fabulous but you can't see it as the lighting is too harsh.

The hotel was in a great location. The rooms were pleasant, functional and had good views. However the food choice was quite limited (only bar snacks in the evening until 8.30pm), and the choice for breakfast not good. It was also a disappointment that the funicular stopped running at 7.45pm, so it was not easy to go out in the evening.
