« Staff lovely but some improvements needed »

Nice hotel away from the madness of Patong. Same breakfast everyday. Wonderful staff but very understaffed. The bar in particular. Never managed to try the high tea and getting a drink in the evening was hopeless. Very unpleasant lady serving but possibly due to the fact that they couldn’t cope with the number of people. The queue for eggs was hopeless. One of the party managed to get an omelette on the last morning. Just as a matter of interest, why does the bus to the town stop at 7pm and why not put onmore transport if more people want to go,especially when the hotel is so full?

Had an amazing stay with our kids in Novotel Patong beach. The sea facing view from the room was amazing and so was the breakfast everyday. We also used the pool room one day and it was even better. The kids loved the kids room activities. We also liked the pool activities and cocktails.

friendly staff , helpful to their ability , had an issue with the booking but told nothing could be done to confirm booking, asked for roll out bed to be given , given a bedding set up for a hard sofa seat to sleep on instead.Checked booking back at home afterwards and travel agent claimed we paid for a separate bed and sleeping area as I thought - but not supplied? Was not told of or offered discount $$ arrangement in hotel usage,found out from another couple - didn't buy anyway. Activities within hotel very good, breakfast great, facilities great, clean and friendly staff.highly recommend the hotel , great position.

« Not a great start made better after tripadvisor review and less than average bathrooms »

We were in a superior room as this was the only room category available when we booked. The bathroom layout was so bad and we had a toilet directly facing a wall. My 6'2 tall husband could not sit on the toilet without bending his knees up with his face inches from the wall. So ridiculous that we joked he could nap in there. We also experienced very poor service at the pool bar right after checking in. Given all of this, we provided our feedback to the guest relations officer. I was not looking for an upgrade, rather just for options to move to another room with a better bathroom layout. Her initial response was negative - that the hotel was 97% booked, I would have to pay for an upgrade if I wanted one and that nothing else could be done. She did not even care to provide more details about how much an upgrade would cost - we could've easily afforded this but she didn't seem to think it was an option for us. This insulted me a bit as I was not provided the respect a guest would expect. Only when I made it more apparent how upset I was at the situation, she offered to try and move us the next day but asked us to approach her the next day for a status update. This was a very poor response from a guest relations professional as I should not have to follow up on my own complaint and it should be the other way! We decided to give the hotel one more chance and wait to see if they would contact us to move rooms the next day but unfortunately nobody did. We were extremely disappointed by this. We have travelled the world and stayed in all sorts of hotels so this was least expected. I posted an honest review about this on Tripadvisor that day and we accepted nothing was going to happen so we properly settled in to the room. Until that point we hadn't unpacked much as we expected to move and had our 1 year old son with us. After my review was submitted (and this is my first negative review on Tripadvisor as I'm actually very tolerant!) We got a call from Alis in guest relations who had read the review. She apologised for our poor experience, wanted to understand the situation better and even came to the room the look at the toilet layout to get a better idea. After we showed her the inconvenience to my husband, she was extremely apologetic and from then on went above and beyond her role to rectify the situation. We declined to switch rooms the next day because it was difficult to pack, unpack and move with a 1 year old. She also offered other benefits to make up for our experience which was very kind. Unfortunately though, all this was done only after my review was posted which should not be the case and was honestly not at all the intention of my review to begin with. I'd read numerous reviews of guests raving about the amazing service at this hotel which led us to choose this hotel so I felt misled and wanted to provide my honest experience. I'm still not sure why this level of service was not provided to us to begin with. I was not looking for a free upgrade but it seems from the reviews many guests are provided with an upgrade without even asking. We initially considered paying to upgrade but from our poor experience decided it wasn't worth it. I also provided some other feedback about poor service in the restaurants etc and after my review, it felt like everyone suddenly knew about our complaint and were trying to be nicer and more efficient which is how it should've been to begin with especially in Thailand with it's famous hospitality industry- this was our 10th trip to Thailand.

Staff very friendly. Building not designed for children as there is steps everywhere! We had a 7month old as was very hard going up and down steps. Also there was building work going on which disturbed us.

« A stay to remember »

It was too short. Only spent the last day of a 10 day break. Mr Joe and Ms Alissa at the front desk were great. Breakfast was nice. No brown bread and one cheese type. I made remark to the second chef and he said they would look into it. He was helpful too. The position of the hotel is amazing. I would visit again and recommend to others.

« Very pleasant stay with excellent service »

We had a very pleasant stay. Everything was clean and tidy. Rooms in very good condition and bed was extremely comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. My only issue was that while gardens were well maintained and the grounds tidy and clean, the property itself looks a bit run down and needs work. My main issue was the lift to room 527. It was extremely uncomfortable being hot and humid with minimal air movement. Needs proper air conditioning
