« Repeated Stay At Novotel Batam »

I stayed at Novotel Batam for a night with my wife on 17 June 2017. Previously on my stay at this hotel, the bed , service standards, the room & the food all scored high in my review. However, on this trip, the service standards have dropped tremendously with only 1 staff at the reception when I checked in. Although, we were given a room early, 2 of the room's lights were not in good condition and we informed the reception before we let the hotel for Nagoya Hill. When we returned in the evening, the problem was not resolved and the light was still blinking. I discovered the receptionist did not pass the message through. The bed was rather soft and not comfortable for my body whilst the toile accessories looks rather bare. The corridor looks old and dull and the ceiling have cloth covering various patches of leak or bad stains. Overall, the interior of the hotel looks run down. The concierge desk looks very empty of staff and the food varieties looks pathetic with not much varieties although it's the Ramadan period. Overall, I am disappointed at the hotel and would only give an average rating of 3 out of 5.

« Weekend Gate Away »

I stayed at Novotel Batam for weekend gate away , overall the services and property are average. The front desk did not go extra mile to provide a "better services", when we asked whether we could do a late check out, the front desk told us that it is not possible, even tough the website clearly stated that it is possible and the property is not fully booked at that time. The other front desk then help us to made our request possible. When we did the check in the front desk served us, without wearing shoes and I could see that the stocking that she is wearing is torn, not a good impression for a four star hotel. The rest of the services is just so so.

I had booked 4 room at Novotel Batam to stay during the CNY holidays. As a LeClub member, I am entitled to early check-in and late check-outs. However, when i wanted to check-in early for my stay, the hotel staff said the rooms are not ready, thus asking me to return again at 2pm, which is their check-in time. To speed up my check-in, the hotel staff suggested i register first. However, When i returned at 2pm, a different staff at the front desk was serving me, thus repeating the registration process. The lack of communication cause me and my family to wait 30 mins before we could enter our rooms. Furthermore, I requested for Non-Smoking room, but was given Smoking rooms instead, with a pungent smell of tobacco upon entering the room.

Regular guest here for over a decade. Needs to improve on room service and kitchen as they sent me a well done tenderloin when I ordered a medium rare. Steak was way overcooked, dry and even burnt. Very disappointed especially when i got to wait 1.5 hours for this order. Please improve on this aspect because it is not the 1st time you guys served me overcooked orders. Truly disappointed

Check in was smooth, clean room that was decent. Yes, the hotel is a little dated like many of the hotels In Batam, but I found the overall hotel to be better than some Batam hotels. Good location. I will come back.

Very disappointing. Hotel was almost empty. Check in was horendous with the staff unable to use my 2 visa cards telling me 'declned' which got me worried. Finally he did not charge any deposit.Lunch at the hotel was poor. B/fast was poor too.The staff was like it was the first time they were welcoming a guest.The hotel is old and the towels have turned grey.Not an accor hotel. I chose that hotel bcause it was Novotel.Very disappointed.

The exterior looks very outdated, but pleasantly surprised that the room itself is clean, lightly modern and well furnished, including complimentary toiletries. The hotel provides 3x daily shuttle to Nagoya hills shopping mall, with the first shuttle as early as 10am. Not sure if the free shuttle extends to other shopping Malls although the guest book did mention there is. However, big negative point is that no complimentary shuttle to /from Harbour Bay terminal is provided. Given the close proximity, I think the hotel should seriously consider this for guests convenience. Taxi each way cost 50,000. I was flabbergasted when the hotel concierge charged me the same amount on my return trip to the terminal, using the hotel van and at a 2 mins drive away.

This was my 3rd stay at Novotel Batam and unfortunately I have decided that it will be the last. As per the website and the terms of the booking, we allowed complimentary late checkout till 5pm upon request. When I checked in and requested for the same the staff at the counter denied knowing anything about that but said it was chargeable. After I insisted, he referred me to his senior colleague who repeated the same. After I requested to see the Front Office Manager, they were quite reluctant to do so but eventually he did come and see me. He said that the reason for them not being able to extend it was due to full occupancy even though his staff member had indicated that it was possible but chargeable. Eventually he allowed an extension till 2pm only. I had asked to see the hotel manager but he had said it would not be possible and tried to claim that he was the manager when he was clearly only the front office manager. On the previous occasion I also had a similar issue in that they seemed to be unaware of the Novotel Policy on this. However when I spoke to the Front Office Manager at the time (different one) and showed her the booking terms and conditions, she had agreed and allowed it. She had also indicated that she would feedback to their management about this matter but obviously this had not been done. Our room (business suite) was ok but the airconditioning was quite weak. I had booked two more rooms for the others of our party but the superior room that they were given was very cramped and unlike the superior room I had stayed at on the two previous occasions. There was barely any space other than for the bed and the chair Having such a disparity in the size of the rooms for the same room type is quite misleading.

Been staying here for few times already, and for sure will come back. Hospitality and comfort rooms as usual. Breakfast is ok and basic. Can be improved. Good for short business stay. Thank you Just a comment, some of the staff who take care the reception should at least know about the Accor membership tier previlige. Will not share more so to let the management train their staff in general, so hopefully this can help. Thank you

the hotel's foyer, lobby and courtyard were grand service from counter staff, maintenance staff and concierge was prompt and pleasant the corridors and rooms were kind of dim and definitely needed some updating. we ordered room service - the drinks and fruit platter came after 30 min, and fruit platter tasted weird. We spat out the fruits. We feedback to the server but he did not take any action breakfast was average. Varieties was good though. Perhaps we're not tuned to Indonesian taste bud so we didn't enjoyed it that much

I checked into this hotel upon arrival at the Harborbay Ferry Terminal. It was a good short ride as I have not been to Batam for many years. We pleasantly surprised that the hotel is only a short 8 mins ride. We were greeted by a very cheerful lady who assisted us with a smooth and short check in. The hotel lobby looks old and dark in the afternoon and it definitely looks better when the light came on in the night. The room was nice and quiet, ours facing the Pacific hotel. It's actually quite nostalgic to stay in the hotel. A trip back in memory. The staff whom we met were really nice and accommodating. Would be back again.

Basic. Room spacious and clean. Was expecting more facilities and disappointed that the billiard table and darts are in smoking areas which are not pro-family. Shuttle is only one way. The hotel is located in quite isolated place hence may consider providing more frequent two way shuttle or to other venues as well. One night stay will be more than sufficient.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Although the hotel has been running for years, the building, the room are very well maintained. Room design is a standard Novotel design, especially the signature sofa in the room, such a nice touch. The bathroom is clean, a little bit small tough. The water pressure is EXCELLENT! Ordered room service for both nights, food is delicious, reasonably priced. Good service quality, check in and check out process were smooth. Definitely will recommend this hotel to anyone going to Batam.

The location was near the Nagoya shopping mall which made it convenient as there was nothing else in the proximity of the hotel. The pillow required to be upgraded as it was a little bit too small. Breakfast variety also required to add more variety.

My second time to stay here. Definitely better than first one. Was not a peak period so they upgrade the room for me. Quite nice and room is spacious And confortable. Breakfast was ok, but can not say much about the Swimming pool. One comment is they need to relook the towels. The first night I got was very old, one has hole in it. The next day, was ok.

i had my twice stay here. and they consistently assisted me in their best shape. this old property was the obly unfortunate items. with their strategic position in batam, i think they'll be the best if they renovate and still convey the previous best service
