« Decent hotel, far from town and very expensive. »

The staff are friendly and helpful, the checkin and check out processes are quick on simple. Overall my stay was fine and without incident, but for the price it is very far from value for money. It is located far from town and the rooms are very basic for a price in excess of 300 euros. There were no drawers in my room, only a handful of coat hangers. For a week I had to keep much of my stuff in the suitcase. The breakfast area is small and again very very expensive for what it is. Most of the time only one coffee machine was fully working. It stayed here because of business, so although not directly paying myself still felt this hotel was very poor value for money.

The meal I had on Saturday evening 6th October with RAFA Ball, was the worst I have had in in all the 8yrs I have been attending. You need to get rid of the paper cups in the room. The pillows are really uncomfortable

« not good for this class of hotel. »

Executive room had dirty, stained carpets and a bath shower screen that would not close so water went over the floor and had to be soaked up with towels. Executive room was same as regular but with a mini bar with just water and soft drinks, plus an ironing board. Very disappointing. We were expecting much more. Food at the banquet, chicken, could not be eaten and Maitre D would not speak to us just ignored our request to call him over. Extremely rude ignoring our raised hands, just turning away.

« Despite the new bathrooms, the rooms are getting very grubby & tired »

I attended the RAFA Ball, as I have for many years and that part generally went well, the steak was the best that has been served, but the alternative chicken menu served to my wife was inedible and rather spoiled the evening. Also, if the room is booked until 0300, I find it intrusive when the staff start clearing chairs at 0200, including trying to take away chairs of those who were dancing! As always, despite the schedule for the whole RAFA weekend being similar year on year, the hotel failed to staff the bar at the times the guests returned on both the Saturday and Sunday.

« Very happy with my overnight stay at the hotel. »

The room was big and comfortable with all that I needed. The staff was very kind and helpful. They called taxis for me, they brought food to my room and they extended my stay as I requested to a late check out. The experience was very good. I would highly recommend the hotel and I would stay there again. Thank you.

« Great stay »

A pleasant stay overall. Location was perfect, the hotel is 100 metres from the tram stop, breakfast was superb, rooms and common areas were clean, spacious room. The cupboard was disappointingly small, not big enough for two people staying in the hotel for 7 days. Supplies of toiletries, tea bags, instant coffee and milk in the room were sparse. Hot water in the shower on two occasions suddenly turned to cold.

I enjoyed staying at the hotel. The only negative comment may be the pillow are not soft enough and one of the lights would not turn out. Otherwise, the room was clean and well appointed. I appreciated the free WiFi. The proximity to the tram was very convenient as well.

« Tired hotel and ok service »

I had an issue with water pressure in my room on my arrival day - it made it very difficult to rinse my hair. I called reception and they told me the engineer was gone for the day and would come in the morning. It apparently happened but no mention of it was then made during my stay and this wasn't noted at check out. The check out process was also very long - I am a gold member and all my details are saved in files. It shouldn't be that long. Service at staff at reception was average. Service at the bar and restaurant was good.

My second stay at Novotel Kirchberg, and everything was perfect again. The Kirchberg area is in full change (one gigantic construction site actually), so finding access to the hotel can be a bit of a challenge, bu that's something temporary anyway. But once there, reception is friendly and efficient, the room clean, bright and quiet. All is like it should be, all you need is there.

« Not a good experience »

The most uncomfortable pillows, synthetic material, divided in the middle, was unable to sleep, asked for other pillows, they were similarly hard and synthetic which I am allergic to. At night when I asked for the pillows, the staff was not helpful, took them a long time to bring the other pillows ... Anyway, I will not stay in your hotel again.

« Practical for business stays, but needs modernisation »

Enjoyed the breakfast, nice, professional and welcoming staff and practical location. However, the rooms and bathrooms need a modernisation. The bedding feels somewhat uncomfortable (polyester?), the sofa is stained and the very bright, undimmable lights provide for a rather cold atmosphere.
