The reception was very nice and welcoming.That night though the system was down so my room card could not be set up, forcing the staff to come with me to open the door of my room. The shower was not evacuating the water quick enough and therefore it filled in quickly and could fall on the floor (and my feet having to take a bath .) Due to an event breakfast was next door( Ibis Style) from 8am.

NOT A 4 STARS HOTEL NOT RECOMMENDED I wouldn’t give one start but otherwise I can’t post it. We reserved a double room for 3 nights and we regreted from the moment we got in our room. The room and bed was very small for a double, the bathroom had a sliding door and a shower curtain just at the end of the bed. It was like you’re in the bathroom and the bedroom in the same time. Also we found ants in the bathroom’s floor. On the first morning we had breakfast at the hotel “restaurant”. They were “cooking” omelette, bacon and sausages. The omelette was like a ready meal. Took it out from the frozen box and place it on the pan. It was not enough bread and juice. We had to ask them twice to provide us more. They had a fridge with yoghurts, chesse, watermelon and pineapple. Second morning we hoped that is gonna be different but no. Same omelette, bacon, and sausages and leftovers of chesse, watermelon and pineapple from the previous day which was left uncovered. Breakfast was from 6-10 am. When we went to the “restaurant” at 7:30, again it was no bread. I asked a member of staff for bread, which was the receptionist, no one else was in the kitchen, he replied that the delivery comes later on in the morning. Eventually he went next door to another Mercure hotel and he brought us bread.

« Staff is alright but hotel is dissatisfying in general »

My sink would not work properly. My next door neighbor had another problem with the bathtub. my colleague who stayed on the same floor also had a similar issue with her bathtub. It made no sense to even inform reception on this. I couldn't get anyone on the line the first day arrived anyway so I did not bother going to the ground floor for this. What were you going to fix in 10 min for my 2 day stay anyway...the whole floor was suffering a pluming issue obviously. Anyway on my second night there were small bugs on the bathroom floor. I have pictures for both unfortunate memories. The staff was ok. But the general hotel quality was much below expectations.

« Ok for a short stay »

The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. However, the photos of the room looked much better than the actual room. The room was smaller than I expected and seemed less luxurious. The cleaning staff entered my room multiple times while I was sleeping even though I had a do not disturb sign on the door. The room was also quite cold. The heat didn’t seem to work.

Not Mercure standard at all. Totally disappointed. Staff and location are fab. Last time I checked Mercure didn't provide paper cups for your morning drink in your room? If you have asthma the 6th floor is impossible - the lift is always full as it's so tiny.

« Nice hotel in very good location for central Paris »

We were transferred to this hotel when we arrived having actually booked the Ibis Styles next door. We queried this with the man on reception who advised Mercure was actually a higher standard and cost than Ibis Styles. We accepted this and didn't have any problems during our 4 night stay. We found the room rather small and compact but we understand this is normal for hotels in central Paris. The bathroom was very nice and modern with spacious shower cubicle. The bed was comfortable.

« Small rooms »

After a friendly check-in, I entered my room and mentioned it was pretty small. In fact, I could barely store my luggage and suitcase properly. Also the bathroom was very small which made it quite inconvenient to move around. On the other side, the bed was perfect to sleep in and hence I felt well rested the next morning. Eventually, the hair blower often was a bit too lose, which made it turning on quite some times without having this intention. Also the breakfast was good, but notexceptional.

« Not a 4 star hotel »

For a 4 star hotel I actually expected more. No slippers l, no bathrobe, very very ugly room (163) I hit my head twice on the ceiling. I didn't complain to anyone because your staff didn't seem to know much. Lots of the questions were answered with "I don't know". I actually work in a hotel and I think I know what to expect from staff, from a room and other things.

THERE IS NOTHING BAD THAT I CAN SAY ABOUT YOUR HOTEL EVERYTHING WAS SPOT BEAUTIFUL ROOMS NICE CLEAN AND WORM WITH NICE BATHROOMS.ONLY THING IS THAT I DIDN'T KNOW THAT PEOPLE KEEP DRINKING TILL 2 AM ON SUNDAY NIGHT.BUT THAT'S HAS NOTHING WITH YOU IT WAS ON THE END OF THE STREET IN BISTRO AND THEY WERE LITTLE BIT NOISY OUTSIDE

« tiny but clean room in a shabby tired hotel »

I was moved from the nicer hotel that I booked due to a leak in my room prior to arriving at the hotel. Although close by, the other hotel, although rated as 4 star was poor in comparison. It was tired and shabby in the small reception area and the hallways are in need of refurbishment. The room was the smallest room I have ever stayed in, Parisian rooms are notoriously small but it was barely larger than the double bed that was in it, there wasn't even much space for the smallest wardrobe possible. The ensuite was accessed through a curtain but was of a reasonable standard although extremely small. Considering this was 173 euros and I was not offered any sort of apology and reduction for the inconvenience and being moved to a poorer hotel, how this is given the same rating is beyond a joke. I feel very aggrieved and my suggestion that I shouldn't have to pay the same price fell on deaf ears. I will not be using the Mercure chain again.

« Nice room, cleanliness not up to standard. »

The hotel was nice and in a really good area of the city. The staff were friendly and the room was nice, although small, but this wasn't a problem. However the shower didn't drain properly until the last day and there were quite alot of ants in our room. Not sure if it was like this in every room. If we were to come back to Paris in the future we probably would choose this hotel again.
