« AMAZING STAY WITH KIND HELPFUL STUFF AND DELICIOUS BREAKFAST ;) »

THERE IS NOTHING BAD THAT I CAN SAY ABOUT YOUR HOTEL EVERYTHING WAS SPOT BEAUTIFUL ROOMS NICE CLEAN AND WORM WITH NICE BATHROOMS.ONLY THING IS THAT I DIDN'T KNOW THAT PEOPLE KEEP DRINKING TILL 2 AM ON SUNDAY NIGHT.BUT THAT'S HAS NOTHING WITH YOU IT WAS ON THE END OF THE STREET IN BISTRO AND THEY WERE LITTLE BIT NOISY OUTSIDE

The room smelled a little smokey, but the bed was the softest and best I ever had in a hotel. Also the breakfast was really good, the best in any Mercure hotel in my experience.

« tiny but clean room in a shabby tired hotel »

I was moved from the nicer hotel that I booked due to a leak in my room prior to arriving at the hotel. Although close by, the other hotel, although rated as 4 star was poor in comparison. It was tired and shabby in the small reception area and the hallways are in need of refurbishment. The room was the smallest room I have ever stayed in, Parisian rooms are notoriously small but it was barely larger than the double bed that was in it, there wasn't even much space for the smallest wardrobe possible. The ensuite was accessed through a curtain but was of a reasonable standard although extremely small. Considering this was 173 euros and I was not offered any sort of apology and reduction for the inconvenience and being moved to a poorer hotel, how this is given the same rating is beyond a joke. I feel very aggrieved and my suggestion that I shouldn't have to pay the same price fell on deaf ears. I will not be using the Mercure chain again.

« Nice room, cleanliness not up to standard. »

The hotel was nice and in a really good area of the city. The staff were friendly and the room was nice, although small, but this wasn't a problem. However the shower didn't drain properly until the last day and there were quite alot of ants in our room. Not sure if it was like this in every room. If we were to come back to Paris in the future we probably would choose this hotel again.

« Not the standard of a Mercure! An Ibis Budget at best.... »

Not pleasant at all. I have asked for a "quiet room" and I got a room in front of the elevator right on the street at a crossroad... The worst place. And the hotel was not full... At 5:30 am an idiot was making so much noise in the street that it woke me up. The room was ridiculously small and we could barely walk around the bed. The heat in the room was very high. We could not turn on the air conditioning that was disabled and had to open the window to cool it off. Not so good with a baby during winter time... I am an Accor member (I used to have gold status). I have a complementary drink. The guy told me that they had no more juice to offer (whereas I saw perfectly in the fridge that there was...) and he tried to give me some juice in a glass from the breakfast. I refused saying I want a bottle because I had to leave. So he gave me a bottle from the fridge... Was he taking me for an idiot? He opened the fridge in front of me! And the cherry on the cake is that the toilet seat had pee on it at several places!! Not even cleaned properly for such a small room... Fortunately, I got a good rate when I booked but this hotel does not look like a Mercure hotel so the rate was just a fair one in regard to my experience there... I do not understand how it can have this brand. Should be reclassified...

« Excellent position and friendly staff »

We stayed in the Hotel Mercure Opera Lafayette for a week. The staff were very friendly, the hotel was clean, the breakfast good. I really missed not having any face cloth in the bathroom and I was told they no longer supply this - a real pity for those of us who like to wash properly ! We were upgraded to a Privilege Room and found that it was really quite small for that kind of room with only one armchair and no drawers or shelf in the room to put our clothe.

I got a room that cannot be locked (but can be closed) the first day. The last day, my key was deactivated and it took 20 minutes at midnight to create a new one, the computer system wasn't working correctly

First I was surprised to see a 4 Star Mercure with such "reception". Because there was a small desk only, where barely the computer screen had enough space. Credit-Card reader was barely accessible and over all very poor perception. But the two ladies at the desk were very friendly welcomed us very well and with a short waiting time, we could get access to our rooms, even before the standard check in time. We had two rooms, more or less same size. Rooms were very clean nice furnitured and very nice and clean bathrooms. Beds were comfortable and over all we were satisfied. But then starting first evening using the bathroom, I closed the glass sliding door and could not open it any more from inside the bathroom, because the slider was jammed. Only with help from my wife outside the bathroom and me from inside, we managed to open the door. The other surprise was the not proper working toilet flush. Which didn't fill up within 1hour. Means my wife used the toilet, but I could not flush afterwards. Then the morning shower was next surprise. It was a very big and nice cabin, with very good water supply through the shower, but after few seconds the tub filled with water, because the drain was blocked and the water drained off very very slow. Means I used the shower for 10sec. and waited, not to flood the bathroom, then again 10sec... not very nice morning shower! All three issues I complained to the reception desk in the morning and got the message it will be maintained shortly. Next evening we came back late and went straight to the room. Toilet flush still didn't work in the evening. Next morning I had to fill the bathroom trash-bin (fortunately water proof and made of plastic) from the shower and used it as a bucket to flush the toilet!!! Shower was same experience as day before and the door was still jamming. Looks like nobody did anything!!! Then the last surprise was the parking of my car in the nearby parking Rex, on which you could offer a discount for hotel guests from 42EUR/day to 30EUR. I got the explanation at your reception, to show a printed paper (barely readable) and by that I get the discount at the garage. Unfortunately the morning I came was Nov.1st bank holiday and nobody at the garage, nor any possibility to get the discount at the parking ticket machine. Hope you take your measures on this, to avoid such surprises for future guests. Best regards, Dario P.

« Conveniently located hotel, quiet side road »

Friendly and helpful staff, guests are welcomed in English (as almost everywhere in Paris nowadays - a great thing), just a short walk to nearest metro station, plenty of small restaurants and cafes nearby, despite central location rather quiet place (good for sleeping), breakfast also good, privilege room good size.

« OK, as expected. »

Staff was friendly. Room was OK for the class of hotel. As a Platinum LeClub member I qualify for a free welcome drink. Issue later turned out that the red wine was bad! The front desk person who also tended the meager bar saidf it was "No Good". We smelled it and sure enough it smelled like it was opened in early Spring and we were now in late Summer. Surprising to us that he merely recorked the bottle and put back in the refrigerator. It needed to be trhrown away. There is certainly no shortage or red winw in France so this was very surprising and disappointing to us. We looked forward to a glass of red winw before bed and did not want beer. We asked if a glass of Bailey's in place of the wine would be acceptable and was told NO! Again very disappointing that our complimentary drink could not be enjoyed.
