The stay was excellent as usual. However, my credit card was debited the cost of my stay without informing me. This shows distrust and is insulting. Also I have not been sent an invoice or receipt a week after checking out.

Didn't have a positive stay. First night was a disaster due to functions being held and the noise carrying into room until early morning. My daughter and I were asked to leave the bar because she had a small pack of chips from outside source. Coffee never arrived at breakfast. Lacklustre to say the least. Probably not stay at sofitel Melb again after this experience and I am a le club member.

I choose and prefer Sofitel solely due to the beds that are used by Sofitel. Every other time I have enjoyed the bed (and consistency between sites and stays) However for this stay the bed was very poor. On one side it had a very large dip in the bed.

Check in was easy and good experience. Cocktails and other beverages from level 35 were of a high standard as well as the service. Club Sofitel was well organised and provided a superior customer service experience. Afternoon drinks and canapes were of a high standard. Breakfast experience was good without being great. Coffee and selection of juices / waters etc was very good and the service was excellent. I found the fruit especially on the buffet station looking very sad and unfresh. The watermelon was beginning to wilt and looked and tasted poor. Looked like it had been out for several days. the alacarte options were fine, however, lacked flavor and a little inspiration and looked basic on the plate. Was charged for valet parking on checkout (did not drive to hotel) but this was promptly refunded. I must say that the room was underwhelming when compared to other Sofitel properties and i understand that this property is now several decades old. In saying that the general level of maintenance workmanship was very poor. One example is the 'man hole" or repair to an area above the bathroom entry (room 4715). A couple of other things include lack of "soft close" toilet seat, mold to floor grout, shower head (now days expect a rainfall type option) and horrible narrow bath which is awkward to stand in to shower. General feel of the room was tired. House keeping was of a high standard, however, on the second day the room was not serviced and had to be done by the turn down service attendant. the room also lacked a couple of expected amenities such as shave kit and toothbrush kit. At other properties i have also received more than 1 drink ticket on check in as well as wine or a couple of complimentary beers in the room on check in. I have updated, through the app my preferences but this does seem to be overlooked not only at this property but others too...the complimentary drinks are not a huge problem but are a nice touch.

We always enjoy our stay at the Sofitel It is somewhat confusing however to receive emails that state Accor members get a better room rate (10%) all year only to book online and pay the standard rate with or without our member number This makes your offer less than genuine Are we missing something??
