« Some small issues »

My stay was fairly pleasent but there was a couple of issues. Firstly, and the biggest was that the hotel had ZERO hot water one morning. Very difficult to prepare for significant business meetings when you can’t shower and prepare properly. The second issue was that there was a mistake on the booking of one of our party and he was booked pre-paid as oppoesed to flexible (we had a total of 5 rooms). When our meetings with the company ended early and we had to leave a day earlier (we represent the Government of Canada and can not remain without meetings), there no one that was even interested in trying to figure out a way to refund a single night (that was made clearly in error if 4 of the 5 bookings was correct). Everyone was quick to say “there’s nothing I can do”. The Canadian tax payers are forced to pay for this extra night. The problem is not so much that as it is that no one even remotely seemed interested in trying to figure something out. That to me is a big disappointment and a big problem. If this issue was to happen again, I don’t know what we could do, this creates a risk for Government stays for future trips we have to make.

We loved everything about his hotel including the location, the very friendly and helpful staff and elegant decor. The room was very clean and comfortable with an excellent bed and bathroom. I especially appreciated being able to see certain television stations in English such as CNN and others. Breakfast is served in an outstanding part of this ancient abbey and was excellent quality offering a wide range of food choices. We often to go Bourges so this hotel will definitely be our predilection.

A little touch of luxury but with slightly bizarre decoration! We love the hotel, the food and the surroundings, can thoroughly recommend Bourges and the hotel. Lovely selection of champagnes by the glass! :-)

« Sadly had to cancelled but hotel's response was excellent. »

Very sadly our dog was very ill, so we had to cancel our trip only 2 days before we were due to arrive . However, the person I contacted at the hotel was extremely understanding and helpful, as was the person who was later contacted by VeryChic, our booking agent. We were sad to miss our weekend and certainly plan to reschedule our break in Bourges at sometime in the future and shall definitely stay at the Hôtel de Bourbon Mercure Bourges. Very impressive service, thank you.

Liked the hotel, situation and restuarant. However as an Accor club member we had to ask for our Welcome Drinks voucher. In Novotels and Ibis the Welcome drinks voucher allowed both myself and wife a drink. In Mercure it is one small drink between two people which didn,t make us feel very welcome!! Bedroom was hor and AC didn't seem to work very well so couldn't have a good nights sleep

On the whole, an excellent experience, and a very good breakfast. If I have reservations, they are small ones: - pity we were not informed in advance that there would be difficulty getting dinner at the hotel; we only learnt on check-in that the restaurant was fully booked. - in the bed-room, the bed-side tables are pathetically small! No doubt looks good in the brochures, but how much better to have a proper table, preferably with a drawer. Much the same comment on the "desk". And what is the significance of the blue sheep?

« Beautiful Mercure Hotel not to be missed. »

No one could fail to be amazed and excited on seeing this hotel as you drive into the car park. Such a beautiful old building, both outside and in. The bedrooms are uniquely decorated and have a generous shower room. The beds are large and comfortable. To get to the restaurant there is a corridor with arched windows as you pass by the cosy bar. The restaurant, on entering, is ' jaw dropping' and you can't believe that you are going to dine in a cathedral. The menu is very comprehensive and will suit all tastes and pockets.This was our third stay here and never fails us. All of the staff are excellent and can't do enough to make your visit as pleasurable as you would hope and wish for. Can't wait to go again.
