« Very comfortable warm hotel & nice food. »

A very good experience. Some upgrading of rooms needs to happen. Carpet pulling away in doorways and tiling in bathroom needs grout cleaning or renewing. Food at breakfast ran out on both mornings we were there. Nice food but unfortunately only luke warm. Overall a very pleasant stay.

we booked a junior suite for two nights to celebrate my wife's birthday, lounge around Rotorua and enjoy MTB the Redwoods. special mention of Lee on check in. fantastic service. picked up on my wife's birthday and offered a complimentary grotto swim - this was very well received. James in the bar and restaurant was another notable staff member offering great service. your team is tops!!!

« Good once we got into the Hotel »

I had book in online and said we would be their at 11:45am as our Conference started at 1:00pm. When we arrive at 11.25am our room was not ready, the girl said it would be in about 20 mins, so we stored our luggage and went for are walk up the street. At 11.31am I got a text to say our room was ready, so went back to the Hotel only to be told by the desk it is not ready, the did not know who sent the text or any thing about it ... I did show them the text. When up the street for lunch, go back to the Hotel at 12.50pm and still the room was not ready. I got my briefcase out of the storage and went to the conference leaving my wife sitting in the lobby, they gave her two wine vouchers. By 3:00pm still no room ready so the gave her an other room. She was not very happy. After that it was fine.

Check in was abysmally slow with only one staff member doing reception, 20 minutes is excessive, and we were in the priority line. Check out, although not quite as long could do with improving too!

« Sloppy overall »

Twice I mentioned cleans ups in and round the lobby. They were attended to quickly. But shame that the staff hadn’t noticed. Check in was really slow. The tiles around the bath/shower REALLY needed scrubbing. Our dinner meal was tasteless and the textures were all like the mashed pumpkin that claimed to be a pumpkin and feta salad.

« A bit second rate for the money involved »

We had a great weekend in Rotorua despite the weather being abysmal. Fantastic staff on the front desk, great service from the restaurant and bar staff, rooms made up fantastically, excellent pool and hot tub/sauna facilities and a great venue for our large group. My two gripes are; 1- waiting to be signed in for for breakfast on both mornings...the people on duty had no sense of urgency and that they were holding people up. 2- a little bit of maintenance required where the carpet meets the tiles in our room... it just looks scruffy with threads hanging out. Just some fine tuning required. Regards Ian

It was a lovely overnight stay with such a comfortable bed that I overslept my alarm! Enjoyed the buffet the night and breakfast the next day. However, more options for low fat/calorie for those of us who need it!

Very very good. Staff were all very helpful. Had a little hiccup when checking in, but was sorted without any drama. staff in the dining room were exceptionally friendly, in particular, lady who was a supervisor on Friday lunchtime and Sunday breakfast. Our room (531) was great, very clean. The sliding door on the wardrobe does need to be seen to tho, I meant to leave a note but overlooked this. Enjoyed the spa, geothermal pool and swimming pool. complimentary water bottles in room on arrival would be nice, we received this at the Ibis and was appreciated. Also given a token of appreciation on leaving the Ibis which was a very nice too. Maybe the Novotel could consider something along the same lines. Only gripe was having to pull the button over the bath for the shower. This is quite hard and some people may have difficulty. Over all, excellent stay.
