Overall actual stay at the hotel was good. However, a last minute change to my travel plans caused a one day delay in my arrival for which I was not allowed a refund of the unused room.

« Great Location »

Check in staff friendly and welcoming. We had 2 rooms which overlooked the car park. Both were tired. Cracked and worn bathroom basin; very rusty shower curtain rail and mattresses that were obviously quite old. What’s more, WiFi wasn’t free. The lobby area, gym and pool, restaurant area and bar were all very well presented. We very much enjoyed our buffet breakfast which was outstanding. Only complaint was that only 1 barista coffee was available with your $32 breakfast. With plenty of quality eating options very close I feel that a bit stingy. What made our stay an overall 7 were the friendly staff, fantastic location and quality breakfast.

Customer service an food was awesome. It was unfortunate that the shower pressure was so low it was hard to wash thoroughly. Also the bathroom was really dirty (mould everywhere). Our toilet got blocked as well. Your pillows an bed were fantastic.

Just the one night, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived and still not when we returned quite a while later. Trainee staff were unsure were pleasant though and the Reception manager soon after gave us an upgrade and free drinks tickets. Meal at the restaurant was lovely as was breakfast. On checking out, we again had a trainee so Reception manager came to our and her's rescue to expedite the process - and a free jar of M&Ms for delaying us! Recommend this hotel on all accounts.

The staff were all very helpful except the restaurant manager who was on the 29/7/18 for breakfast when I went into the restaurant to ask if we could have a couple of coffees in the bar 1 latte and an espresso with pouring cream was told they don't do this we only have milk? As a hotel it seems strange the restaurant doesn't have cream and we were to have these in takeaway cups. After sometime they finally arrived to be stone cold. Never have we had such a hassle at any novotel to get a coffee.

« Did not meet standards we had experienced in other novotels in New Zealand »

Assistant manager quite aggressive today on check in. Breakfast cost not as competative as other novotels in New Zealand. Room was tired in particular the bathroom. Tiles and grouting dirty, shower curtain tatty, toilet dirty, constant noise from toilet and no ability to get fresh air in rooms.

it's great to know that novotel in NZ allows children to stay for free in parents' room!! A huge plus point for family with small children! Wifi should be made available for free bcs that's the common thing nowadays. It's pity that culture show nearby hotel was cancelled - very disappointing for first-timer tourist who intentionally stay nearby.
