Great location with many things walkable. Also very close by car toSkyline entertainment who’s was great for kids. Hotel was of good standard & staff helpful.

Arrived at hotel and proceeded to the concierge and completed the booking in ,unfortunately she did not mention the free drink vouchers . Upon entering our room I noticed that the room had rubbish in the bin and the floor was not vacuumed ,the hand towel and glass in the bathroom had been used. The reception staff were most helpful in changing our room to a corner room on the second floor ,which was most appreciated .

The staff were friendly and the soft toys for kids were a great hit, breakfast was good but the rooms were a let down - marks on the carpet, not full sky options, netting on curtain was broken, shower head is terrible, pillows were horrible.

Enjoyable. Good sized room, actually a lovely view over the fun fair and lake. Very clean, good bathroom.Well serviced. Very quick registration. Staff by the buffet and serving were all lovely. One lady on the last morning was particularly personal and interested.

« Unforgettable and enjoyable one night stay. »

Our family had an awesome time at Novotel Rotorual Lakeside. The room was great and really enjoyed the private mineral spa. The buffet deal for family of four was pretty reasonable. However, can do better job with the self serving juices. Novotel Hamilton is a good example. Overall, we love our stayed at the hotel and hopefully won't be long till we return again.

« Disappointing - as I reported last time we stayed, small things let you down »

As per our previous visit, arrived at our room, then the same trip back to reception because wrong room allocated. Rooms tired - look tired, no soap tray in shower, etc. Excellent restaurant and Spa, although we were unable to use it on our last morning notwithstanding our booking.

We were a little dissapointed that the pool was out of order though, the reason we came to stay at the Novotel was so the kids could swim in the pool for the afternoon, we then had to pay to take them to the public pools.

I booked online and booked a room "with extensive views of the lake" The room we got had no view of the lake so I had to go back to reception and as a staff member had wandered off and left only a trainee on the job had to wait while they reshuffled rooms. Did get my room with a view in the end but shouldn't have to ask when that is what we booked. Size of the rooms very small and also advised free internet yet had to pay when we checked out.

« Great facility and handy location for our 3 days family trip »

We have been staying at the Novotel Rotorua Lakeside a number of times and it's always been a go-to place whenever we come to Rotorua. But the for the first time I was charged a bond. I thought that was abit unusal for a hotel (probably common practice for Air b'n'b?). I would be good if it was clearly stated when I booked.

« Exhorbitant cost for extremely exhausted and poor facilities »

The infrastructure is pathetic - had to change room in vain to get better beds and lost the promised view in the process;the beds are exhausted and disguised with additional mattress toppers; sofa beds have extremely abrasive edge and springs almost ready to pop out; even camp showers have better water pressure; front staff are not warm and friendly. We were just an invoice for them and then randomly a welcome call two days after arrival !! ; not even a jug to hold water and the glasses hold only 150 mls of water - does not “encourage” the use of plastic mineral water bottle from snack bar;if rotorua air corrodes stuff faster then it should be replaced faster too. Was foolish to book through novotel.com - trivago had the same configuration at a much discounted price. So much for going direct !!! The only saving grace is the restaurant staff - polite and friendly and Greta from room maintenance: so maybe you are treating your employees better than your customers

« Toilet had not been cleaned and had terd and toilet paper in it as well as bath tub had a grease ring on the inside surface. »

Email received stated the room was available at 12pm. On checking in the room was not ready and our luggage was tagged and we were given a ticket. On arrival back at the hotel, we assumed our bags would be in the room however they were instead in an insecure room with other guest luggage which was a concern.

I had booked a group from Thailand 7 members and the review from the group was that it was average for a 4.5 star hotel. There were no parks for our vehicle I had to park at Ibis hotel, there was a surcharge for using visa yet other hotels and motels we stayed at didn't have additional charges, coffee for the buffet was free but we were told we had to pay for it, and the rooms need a makeover they are very tired.
