The rooms were comfy & clean, the hot pools great & the food very satisfying - have stayed twice will stay again - only problem was the showers with the high bath access (due to a knee injury I (Sally) could not use shower, so had to use showers in the hot pool area!) - eg are there showers with flat access??

« A lovely stay at Novotel Lakeside »

We stayed here for 4 nights at the start of February and the service at the hotel was excellent from start to finish. We were very impressed with the check in staff as we were allowed to check in early as our room was ready and the assistant on the desk was very helpful with suggestions on where to go in Rotorua. It is always nice to be greeted by a friendly face and this was what we received in all areas of the hotel including Clarkes bar. The room we had was very good with a nice view of the lake and one of the most comfortable beds we have had during our holiday in NZ.

« Badly managed »

The restaurant was never cleared, there were rows and rows of dirty tables. I do not like drinking juice from a bottle. One morning there were no clear tables and no coffee. On arrival we were asked to come back later as they were busy!! Our tour coach was due to leave in one hour. There were no staff, it was badly organised. An absolutely shocking experience. On a 3 week tour the worst hotel by far.

Did not discover the pools until checkout and the night before had trouble finding the bar. We were woken up at 6.30 with a wake up call on phone that we did not request and did not appreciate. Did not find information about Hotel facilities in room.

« Good location,but very busy with large groups. »

No problems other than load thumping "background music during dinner". we couldn't wait to finish our main course and leave. better suited for a disco, conversation was difficult. Level was reduced when we complained, but was short lived. ! Breakfast was busy, but the buffet did not "flow"

Loved it. Food was delicious service was fantastic. Great meeting all the staff who looked after us really well. Thankyou for the great time and will most definately be back at some stage The only thing that i would have to complain about was the room was a bit dusty (my friend checked that out by running her finger across the top pf the ned and tv ) but nothing too major

« Great location with informed helpful staff on reception. »

Pleased to find no charges for parking or Wi-fi, a plus compared to other hotels in NZ. Had to be away early otherwise would have complained about early maintenance drilling adjacent to room at 08:00. No mention made to Le Club membership, joined when we stayed in Wellington two days later when asked at reception about membership by reception.

The room and the location met expectations, but the people who helped us made the difference. Georgia and Amy-Leigh at the check-in desk made sure we were welcomed, and helped make our stay special. Rox at breakfast was cheerful and helpful, but went above and beyond both mornings to make sure everything was perfect. I'll remember them and their kindness after I've forgotten details about the room itself, and will happily recommend your location to others if the opportunity arises.

we needed a break away from home and a nights stay in Rotorua just did the trick. The weather was awful but the food more than made up for it. Right from the seafood chowder through to desert and cheese and crackers it was very much enjoyed and then a lovely selection for breakfast. Staff were amazing. The welcoming contact before our arrival, the speedy, personal check in and later check out could not be faulted. We are so happy to be club members and will continue our membership.

Overall the experience was good. Wold liked to have known that signing up for Le Club for free gave us free internet. Handicapped bathroom was extremely messy as the shower curtain did not extend closer to the floor so water from the shower covered the entire floor.

We stayed at the hotel because we were attending a wedding in Rotorua of which the reception was held at the hotel. The staff were very accommodating of our needs and we really loved the courtesy phone call asking how we were going and if we needed anything.
