Every detail was perfect, from the room to the food to the spa and pool. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly and remembered details about your preferences impressively well. The property itself was stunning and immaculate. The spa and terrace were the best I've ever been to, including 5-Star hotel spas in New York City. To top it off, the history of the convent made this hotel especially unique and interesting. I would consider this a 6-star hotel!

An outstanding high quality hotel that delivers on what it says it can do - it was our first visit and doubt we would ever look to stay anywhere other than this hotel in Cartagena. An historic setting that has been sympathetically renovated for modern day use - truly beautiful. The staff (including Butler services) were attentive and routinely anticipate your needs before you ever get round to thinking about what they may be.

« Terrible room, but good service from everyone but the front desk »

After checking in online (which allowed a noon check in), I went to the hotel at noon. I waited a while before anyone at the front even acknowledged me. Then I was told my room was not ready yet. I left my bags with the front desk and they told me my room was 214 (they put this on my bag claim form, which I still have). When I went back after my room was ready they gave me 219. It was a terrible room facing the outside. I booked a room that was inward facing. The original room 214 faced the pool. I was never told why they changed my room. I had to call the front 3 or 4 times before being given a call back. They told me 5 hours later after I had already unpacked that the only room they had faced the garden. I told the front that I had already unpacked and was hoping they could give me a credit or something for the inconvenience. She told me that they would keep searching for a better room. I don't think she understood English very well. I never heard back about the room. My room was LOUD as it faced the street, it smelled like sewer, and it wasn't what I booked and I was given a better room originally. I was satisfied with the service of everyone except the front desk. The last straw was that I asked one thing of the hotel, to send a bag to me that I forgot in Uber. The Uber driver took the item to the hotel for me because I was already at the airport about to board my plane. The hotel asked for a card account number. I told them that I felt after my experience this was the least they could do. This was a week ago! I have not heard back from the hotel about my item.

Even though our hotel is a historical building, all of our rooms have been renovated with a contemporary touch, while keeping the original details of the colonial and republican style of the historic convent. Our classic rooms which you had requested, between the first and fourth floor,have a classic design and decor. They respond to the preference of people who chooses this type of room. Regarding to your perception about the Housekeeping service. The Housekeeping manager already is taking you comment very serious and doing some research about the situation. At hotel Sofitel Legend Santa Clara, we strive to provide the highest quality of service and product served. To do so, we welcome each and every comment and take measures to ensure experience we create for our guests is a memorable one. The hotel was nice but to claim that our room was ok was a joke. We looked at a wall but I paid for a view. This experience totally ruined my opinion of the sofital. To pretend our room was equal to a room with a view was disingenuous.

It started out really well. Employee using our names from doorman to the front desk at check-in. As the days went by, the service went down. For example, one day at the pool I asked one of the gentleman for a bloody mary, and he said that he will get the server as he's not a server. This is lack of teamwork in my opinion. The gentleman just stood there in the shade for a while until a server walked by (only 1 server working from what I could see). on the 3rd or 4th day we were locked out of our room, so we went to the front desk and the agent didn't show much emotion. In a very robotic way said that we would need to change rooms. I asked her why, as during check-in I asked the agent to keep up in the same room since we had 2 different reservations. She finally had us stay in our room. but did not seem sincere at all when she gave us our keys back.
