this hotel has the potential to be realy good but first it need better supervision of staff in some areas, IE beach 3 men employed to clean beach beds and tables around sun shades, yes they have a cloth for wiping but in 14 days never EVER saws a table or bed wiped, beach men had rakes but just wandered round dragging it behind them never saw paper, cigarette ends, straws picked up EVER,, room, garden restaurant staff excellent , had to change rooms for dirty water from hot tap but new room just the same so had cold showers.

The hotel is good overall rooms are clean and satisfactory Just the main pool is not working which is not good The food is ok but sometimes items finish and not refilled in the buffet and this force the guests to take more than they can consume just in case it finished, the animation team need some improvement for the night show time the receptionist (Hazem) i met was very helpful and welcoming but when he left and I asked help from his colleagues they seemed not caring Mr Tayar the one who is managing guest requests and quality is very active and responsive person who provide help and support even when not asked

My husband and I were there for 9 nights for kiteboarding. The resort grounds were well kept, and even though the pool by the ocean was under renovation, another pool was open, so it was no problem. Service provided by the front desk was excellent. Also the chefs at the egg station during breakfast hours were eggcellent ;-) as well. Harry Nass windsurf/kitesurf center located in Mercure Hurghada is world class, and all the staff were very helpful. I would feel very safe traveling there alone to kitesurf. The buffet food can get boring after so many days, so I recommend venturing out into town now and then. It really was very convenient for us though, because we were there to kitesurf more than anything else. It was a time saver that we didn't have to go anywhere else for food or kitesurfing. There are a lot of family with kids staying at this resort, but I was never bothered by any misbehaving kids. This hotel does have an "airport shuttle", but it's not a passenger van like you are used to in the US. It was actually a private taxi (unmarked, no meter, kind of like Uber) which came to pick us up and drop us off at the airport. Make sure to contact the hotel beforehand with flight information for airport transfer. I tried calling using the phone number on the web site, but it was out of order, so I used email. The phone numbers listed in the reply email worked fine. One word of caution. You have to be VERY clear about which terminal you need to go to. Our driving took us to the international departure terminal, even though we were flying into Cairo first, before leaving Egypt. We found out the domestic terminal was not close and not walkable and there is no tram/shuttle connecting the two. There were no taxis available in front of the international terminal at that time, so I had to find a van driver who was willing to drive us to the domestic terminal, which cost us 5 Euro. The internet connection (available in the lobby only, not in rooms) was really sporadic. It seems to be the case everywhere in Hurghada. I suggest using their internet when not too many people are congregating there.All and all, it was a great visit. I'd go back there again. I wish it was closer and more convenient to get to from Colorado, USA.

Our third stay since 2013&2014. Overall still a good impression, but overall much worse than 2014. Reception: We arrived at the airport around midnight and had a confirmed pickup. However the pickup never appeared. Called 4 times no one answered the phone. Had to take a taxi. When we arrived at the hotel they apologized and smiled but couldnt really tell a reason for the mistake. Can happen - shouldnt. Also our transfer to the aiport failed. I asked for a confirmation for a pickup at 12:15 several times, they said its fine. on departureday there was no transfer ready at 12:15 so i asked again. apparently someone wrote down 12:45.... (i asked THREE times in advance :D). However, someone drove us by car to the airport which was a convinient solution at least. but there is some problem with the communication there. HK: friendly as always. one day they forgot to bring towels but after a short call it was here. nothing to complain about. Room: Family appartment was fine. was a bit sad that we got a room in the last corner (behind new pool), since we only go to the beach and never to the pool, but thats okay. room itself has some flaws. door to bath couldnt be locked (it’s a new bungalow isnt it ;)). TV had 0 working german channels, very few english (mostly news). For us it didnt really matter, but i imagine for some it does. Food: Here I was a bit disappointed. Compared to 2014 the variety of food, pumpkin carvings, fruits etc declined definitely. Also very crowded, too many people to handle, a lot of dirty dishes on tables that were not removed for too long. still friendl staff though. the left area whoch used to be a bar is a really poor solution. it feels seperated and half hearted refilled etc. I always had digestive problems after my egypt stays, and so i had this time. Probably i am to sensitive, so cant blame the hotel for that. 2 things i want to mention cause most striking issues for me: Security: I know safety is important, but as things are right now i wouldnt return to egypt again. Not cause we are scared of terroristattacks, but cause of the security measurements. It was a pain at the airport (6 checks on departure, almost missed flight) and in the hotel aswell. Since we had a bungalow in the back the fastest was to the lobby was the mainentrance. To have bags and bid checked almost everytime u enter the lobby even though u know the securityguy already is extremely frustrating. Yes safety is important, but that is too much... there gotta be another solution. Similar wirh snorkelling. Last time we were here there wasnt a single life guard, now 3 at the beach. Last time i enjoyed snorkelling so much at the housereef and along the coast. this time it was annoying that someone whizzled to you if you came close to an „edge“. Yes it is nice to have life guards, but it is not nice if they try too hard. Lastly the internet. Okay it is okay to not be connected 24 hours during a relaxing holiday. but if i walk to the lobby i expect working wifi. By working I actually mean working. i saw you increased the number of routers. But that didnt help at all. it was bad in 2014 and it is just as bad now. But in 2018 really everyone should be able to provide proper internet at least in the lobby. in my hotel we used to have issues with slow internet aswell. took us quite a while to fix it but we have good internet now and our guests really appreciate it. Although I reach to the hotel at 12 pm and as per policy I know check-in at 15 pm . I was told 30 min and the room will be ready we have waited more than 2 hours to get into our room and no bell boy was avaliable to pick up our luggage from the entrance of the hotel. All the above can be acceptable in case that was it. My main issue with my stay was the food and I can admit this was the worst food ever . So 3 main problem will start with the bell boy , then the recipitionst and end with the chef of the hotel . The good thing of the hotel . Good room service . Great activity with good prices compare to other hotels in hurghada. I am really disappointed to say I moved to another hotel after my stay to also 4 stars hotel which me and my family really enjoying . I believe accor management can do much better than that

All staff are friendly and very helpful; reception, restaurant, snacks bar, lifeguards, animation, and maintenance. I asked the reception for maintenance team to check the refrigerator 12:00 am, a technician came within 10 minutes with another refrigerator and changed instantly. Lifeguards are watching the beach in depth especially children on the shore. Everyone is doing his job perfectly and even we didn't need to leave the hotel due to continuous activities even at night. Beach is sandy suitable for children and snorkeling activity has lots of corals and was the first time to see a turtle and swim beside Rooms are not big but space is perfectly utilized and sparkly clean. Sauna and Jacuzzi was perfect; the only drawback it wasn't possible for veiled women as the veiled swimwear was rejected for the Jacuzzi despite it is normal for the swimming pool Overall I strongly recommend the hotel. Thanks a lot for making our vacation ❤️

Copy of my feed back from google map, facebook, tripadviser I strongly recommend a stay at Mercure Hurghada! The Hotel is a member of Accor hotels group and you will get a really high level of Accor group service! Its ex Sofitel 5***** hotel which has been re-branded to Mercure and is a 4**** hotel now, which still delivers 5 star service. The Hotel is providing an all inclusive service with very lovely and tasty food. Their specialty is healthy and vegetarian food! If You really want good food with a wonderful taste this hotel for you. The Hotel has a big private beach and if you swim on the right side of the beach you can see some lovely coral and a lot of fish. There are not so many coral reefs in Hurghada but the Mercure private beach has some! So don’t forget to bring your snorkeling mask with you. Service is lovely, rooms are big and clean. I recommend you request building number 22 with rooms # 22xx. The Hotel is providing a free private transfer for you. So if you don’t want to overpay to a travel agency or buy a charter trip, book your holiday direct from the hotel on the Accor web site and the hotel will pick you up from the airport. I am traveling a lot and choose Accor hotels group quite often. Choose Mercure Hurghada and you will be very satisfied.

I'm an old customer in accor since 1998 when it was Sofitel, I liked the atmosphere of SOfitel or LE Mercure Hurghada. in my last stay in LeMercure Hurghada, there was improvement in: 1) Animation team performance which one of the most special character of this hotel. 2) Quality of food tast is getting better. 3) Hospitality fro reception team especially Mr; Hazem (morning shift). There was some backing awain the following: 1) Number of seats available on the beach is less than guests number. 2) Number of beach guys (helpers) is almost no one. 3) Quality control (QC) is not enough on the services submitted to the guest. 4) Level of some of the guests is questionable, may be due to type of contracting between hotels and some organizations, but if the level continued like this the hotel my lose a lot of custumers

« Failed my expectations in some areas. »

I did have a problem with room service and warehousing service. Also beach is too crowded to find a place to enjoy the beach. Thankfully I had a discussion with Mr. Hossam Hosny -resdiant manager- after one of the escalations.
