« very old hotel that needs redoing »

My experience with guest service was ok but the hotel is so old i suffered extreme hay fever each time i got in the rooms because of the dirty carperts.

« We enjoyed the facilities in the hotel, which were , unfortunately spoiled by a very unhelpful Receptionist on our departure. »

Good central location for bus and tram routes. Extremely comfortable beds and pillows were most welcome. However the room became very hot and we couldn’t turn down the AC. The hotel said that they controlled the overall temperature? Also there were far too many fruit flies in the restaurant and bar area.

Due to the recent very warm temperatures, you are right, we have unusual fruit flies in the restaurant and bar area, I am sorry. The AC should work in all the rooms correcly, I am really sorry if it was not enough cold. And for the unpolite behaviour of our receptionnist I am confused I will check with her and explain her. Nice hotel in an up-and-coming area with good bus and tram links to Cite du Vin and Bordeaux Old Town. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pleasant bar area and limited but pleasant restaurant.

The front desk staff was nice but the room very much in need of refurbishing. Did not feel clean and the dark red colour so depressing. An important point for me, and I travel a lot , was a stain on my pillow, it should have been discarded. Not good and honestly whenever possible I will refrain to stay in Mercury hotels. Could not wait to leave the hotel the next morning.

« Disappointed stay in Bordeaux »

We are not really familiar to use Mercure hotels. Usually, we do stay in Sofitel or Mac Gallery. We were disapointed about our stay. Even if our room was good; decoration and furnitures were not really modern. The service quality provided by the staff was not good. In comparaison the Mercure hotel in ORLEANS was excellent. We will use no longer this hotel in Bordeaux.

Chain lock on bedroom door didn’t function. BBC World TV Channel “lost” Breakfast like feeding at the zoo. Receptionist took phone call instead of attending to us. Stair access from garage not acceptable.

The room is perfect, bathroom need some refresh. Service at breakfast is not good if you are not here for work. Don' t go to chartrons hotel for vacation

A very welcoming stay. I have been given an excellent room and the service overall (two dinners included) were perfect. I was very annoyed to have no Internet on day 2 of my stay, it took too long to establish the connection (8hours).

room was ok but smell inside room was not at all good. Smelling of waste water pipe like toilet. I put water in all sink, shower, toilet but no help. When opening window smell was smaller with fresh outside air but when closing window smell was coming back. Really something wrong with waste water pipes. Was somebody constructing something? We changed hotel after one night to another hotel and that was good.
