« mixed feelings »

room was ok but smell inside room was not at all good. Smelling of waste water pipe like toilet. I put water in all sink, shower, toilet but no help. When opening window smell was smaller with fresh outside air but when closing window smell was coming back. Really something wrong with waste water pipes. Was somebody constructing something? We changed hotel after one night to another hotel and that was good.

All phones were not working which prevented. all communication with front desk, room service, etc. Rooms & food are standard & hotel offers minimal amenities.Good location is only positive.

« Comfortable Stay at Mercure »

Check in was done quickly and inquiries were answered politely by Reception Staff. We were even asked on our bed preference, if my cousin and I prefer a king size bed or two twin bed, which we chose the latter. Room was very clean with complete supplies. Breakfast buffet had variety of choices and their restaurant had ample dishes for dinner as well. The hotel location was a bit of a concern for me, though you can walk about 10 mins to the tram station. It's still quite a distance from the center of the city. In fact, when we returned from the city late in the evening after our wine tours, there was nobody around the area. My cousin and I were lost that evening but there was nobody around to ask for directions, thus we feared walking along the deserted streets getting back to the hotel. Anyway to sum it all, the hotel interior itself was good and staff were cordial.

« Staying at the Mercure in Bordeaux was a wonderful experience. »

A beautiful hotel with a restful area and lovely restaurant. Our premier room was everything we hoped for. Staff very friendly and helpful, especially Elodie on reception. Would definitely stay here again.

« Staff were very friendly and welcoming, but the interior lacked ambiance »

The room was very pleasant and the staff were friendly. The exterior frontage of the building was impressive, but the lobby, bar and dining-room were impersonal. A bit like a railway station waiting area. The garage also lacked any kind of welcome and the entrance to the hotel from the parking area is not well signed.

« It did not start well as our original hotel had problems and I was not notified before arrival »

I arrived at the Mecure which I had booked, only to be told that they had had problems and they had moved me. I had difficulty finding the other hotel. The new location was fine and the staff were friendly and helpful, but I was not offered any explanation as to what had happened other than there was a technical problem. There was no compensation offered or any kind of recompense for the inconvenience we had we were meant to be meeting friends at another hotel which was only round the corner, the Pullman. I had did not complain at the time, I had just arrived I been awake since 3:00am that morning to get my flight. I also explained to the reception that I had not received any communication informing me that my reservation had been cancelled, she said she had sent me one early that day which I would not have received as I would not be reading e-mails that early in the morning. I also do not feel I should be asking for any kind of compensation, you should realise, once I explained why I had not read you message and the short notice you had given me, you should compensate me to ensure I did not feel the way I do about your hotel and whether I would wish to stay there again or recommend it to anyone.

« Air conditioning very bad, dining room complete mess »

The bedroom was very hot although only in May.A/C ineffective. The dining room for beakfast was very messy on the floor and counters. Spillages left for the duration of the half hour. Reception staff very kind and understood a/c problem very well. She Very helpfully booked us in a sister hotel which was brilliant..at the Lac area.
