« Excellent stay except for the hot water problem. »

Stay was excellent. The hot water failed on one day of my visit, and although it was repaired later that same day, it was still a little disappointing.

I stayed here for the conference. They didn't recognize my Accor status at all. Other people were also saying that the staffs at this hotel were not friendly and never smile except one lady.One morning, the breakfast buffet area was congested, and many people were sitting in the restaurant area also. A hotel guy told me that this area is not for breakfast but lunch. As he urged me to get out from there, I followed him. But He didn't stop other new people to have tables in the area after that. I soon realized that the particular kind of selected people could take tables in the area. Although I disappointed very much with this experience, I wish that this would be my misunderstanding. Be fluent in French before you stay at this hotel!

« A fairly confortable room in a very tired hotel in need of an update. »

Lobby is dinge and musty. The elevator and very smelly. The second floor common area smelled equally bad. The room was without AC so I kept the windows open which was satisfactory but loud. The room also smelled a bit but with the windows open it seemed to clear. Breakfast was fine but uninspired. Basically this is another lazy Mercure hotel.

Personnel at the hotel had been very professional and respectful. WiFi connection in my room was very bad. No eggs available at breakfast... I am vegetarian.

We were invited to breakfast and our booking confirmation did show if breakfast was included so when reception invited us to take breakfast we did assuming it was included in our rate. On checkout we were informed we owed for 2x2 breakfasts which we were surprised. On discussion with reception the lady as good as said your bad luck and we paid Eu 72.00. They did not give us the 50% discount available to Accor Plus members so we departed on a sour note and believe they owe us Eu32

Dated interior - stuck in the 80s I suspect quite a lot of bed bugs. Woke up from the first night with quite some bites.

My stay though short was very satisfactory. The staffers were very courteous and the room decent . I particularly enjoyed their bathroom, with the choice of the shower or bath tub. Really nice. The Management also have a listening hear, and this truly give you a sense of being at home other than away from it.

Very comfortable hotel in a very good location. We stayed at the mercur for a couple of nights prior to a river cruise. The boat departure was only a 15 min walk.

Staff very approachable Room ok but closed curtains revealed peeling wallpaper and black mold the tiles in shower could do with being replaced In the conservatory part of restaurant and the front of house are undergoing replacement so not good to the eye

My experience with guest service was ok but the hotel is so old i suffered extreme hay fever each time i got in the rooms because of the dirty carperts.

« We enjoyed the facilities in the hotel, which were , unfortunately spoiled by a very unhelpful Receptionist on our departure. »

Good central location for bus and tram routes. Extremely comfortable beds and pillows were most welcome. However the room became very hot and we couldn’t turn down the AC. The hotel said that they controlled the overall temperature? Also there were far too many fruit flies in the restaurant and bar area.

Dear Mrs Fiona R., Thank you for your time you took to tell us about your experience at the Mercure Bordeaux Château Chartrons. I do apologize for all the inconveniences you mentionned. Due to the recent very warm temperatures, you are right, we have unusual fruit flies in the restaurant and bar area, I am sorry. The AC should work in all the rooms correcly, I am really sorry if it was not enough cold. And for the unpolite behaviour of our receptionnist I am confused I will check with her and explain her. Nice hotel in an up-and-coming area with good bus and tram links to Cite du Vin and Bordeaux Old Town. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pleasant bar area and limited but pleasant restaurant.

The front desk staff was nice but the room very much in need of refurbishing. Did not feel clean and the dark red colour so depressing. An important point for me, and I travel a lot , was a stain on my pillow, it should have been discarded. Not good and honestly whenever possible I will refrain to stay in Mercury hotels. Could not wait to leave the hotel the next morning.

We are not really familiar to use Mercure hotels. Usually, we do stay in Sofitel or Mac Gallery. We were disapointed about our stay. Even if our room was good; decoration and furnitures were not really modern. The service quality provided by the staff was not good. In comparaison the Mercure hotel in ORLEANS was excellent. We will use no longer this hotel in Bordeaux.
