« 5 Star Hotel???? »

We booked a private tour guide that set us up at your property. If it were not for the fact that we were really only sleeping there because of the packed schedule for the weekend, we certainly would have checked out and found somewhere else to stay. -I have not stayed at a hotel that only had Wifi in the lobby in YEARS. If you want to sit in the lobby, then you have to put up with the cigarette smoke; you should know that probably 75-90% of your guests find that disgusting. -No Elevator? We are plenty capable of carrying our luggage up and down the stairs, but not everyone is. -The red carpet looked as if it had been there since the late 70's. Just gaudy and covered with stains. -Hardly any light in the room. There was a floor lamp with no way of turning it on. -Lack of outlets in the room. It was nice having the coffee and tea with the kettle. Too bad I had to put the kettle on the floor to plug it in because that was the only outlet near it. -Leaving the hotel was never easy. Our driver was always harassed by the transportation police and actually extorted money from our driver on the last day on our way to the airport. +The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was decent. +The pool area looked nice, but unfortunately we were on too tight of a schedule to enjoy it. +Staff was very friendly I honestly cannot figure out how the Mercure is rated a five star hotel on Booking.com. I saw the overall review score of 6.6 and would never book a hotel with that low of a rating, but since our tour guide set it up, we figured it would be fine. I have mentioned some of the above complaints and he said that he had no idea. Chances are he may not send any more business your way. My wife and I are normally do not complain about much. We are living in Saudi Arabia and have been traveling for many years. We have stayed in many hotels around the world and have had good and bad experiences. I mention all of the above complaints in hope that my feedback actually does improve your services, not because I enjoy criticizing.

« Staff lovely, hotel extremely dated & rooms dirty, wifi awful & drinks overpriced »

Extremely disappointing. Rooms could do with a good clean. Stains on carpets. Curtains dirty & hanging off rail. Safe not even attached to wall!!! Bathrooms need a deep clean & resealed/grouted. Wifi patchy at best. No T.V. Drinks overpriced. The whole hotel needs to be refurbished & brought up to date. Will not be returning!! Would not recommend!!

All the staff, including the room cleaner and pool attendants, were very polite and helpful. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The balcony was large and offered views of the two large pyramids which was a great thrill. The bathroom, including a bath and shower, were functionable and there was no problem with hot water; there was also a hair dryer.. A litre and half bottle of water was provided each day and there was no problem replenishing coffee and creamer powder. An iron and ironing table were provided on request. My only criticism was the evening meal: the starters, consisting of many combinations of salad and vegetables, were very good and fresh, as were the deserts. These changed everyday. The mains were the same everyday: a greater variety would be nice. This did not, however, detract from the tasty food on offer and I enjoyed the food. Breakfasts were different everyday and offered cereals, toast and fruit. On Saturday and Sunday a chef was on duty to prepare omlettes with various fillings. Overall very good.

« Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms, wonderful view of the pyramids. »

I had a clean large room, good tv reception. The breakfast selection was varied and good. I liked the shops in the lobby especially the bank for easy exchange. I enjoyed a beer - Stella- at the bar overlooking the pool with Giza in the background. The first pic I sent home to family and friends. The security at entrance ensured my safety and did away with any concerns about Egypt safe travels.

Dear Sir or Madam! I’ve stayed several times in different hotels of your network through all the world and always it was pleasure for me. I knew, that the brand “Accor hotel” is the guarantee of the quality level. This time I was completely disapointed. 1. The hotel is really old and have not been renovated for many years. 2. It was simply dirty in my room! Table was crashed, doors did not closed and so on. 3. Breakfast is poor. Up to me, it should be illegal to offer coffee from Nescafe machine in Mercure hotel. 4. Staff was nice, could not say anything against them.

« Great hotel but no available booked room on check in »

Great for the last 6 nights but the 1st night my Accor members Privilege room with a pyramid view had been given to another guest so I had an inferior room for the night so was unable to unpack, and moved the following evening. I was not told about this on check in- staff tried to give me a standard room with no explanation until I queried why it wasn’t my booked room.

We had booked five rooms in total. We had several issues with all the rooms. Shower drains not working. AC's weren't working. Overall the rooms were also not very clean. They were very dusty. Most of the doors wouldn't even close properly.

the hotel itself is very dated and urgent need of refurbishing. rooms are quiet small and quiet dark.internet is extremely slow, when available. breakfast was good choice.the proximity to the pyramids is the only pro I can think off.

only fans worked in the rooms, not air conditioning. There is a differenace which I think not even the manager understands. Doors are old and can be knocked down easily and dont close properly. no blackout curtains in the room. Although staff helped and tried to relocate us to a better room, all rooms seemed to have a problems. Carpets also dirty. This hotel need more money invested in it . will never recommend to anyone. Hotel manager is responsible and should do something about it instead of investing the money in his pocket.

« The hotel was in a bad state of disrepair, although the staff were excellent. »

This hotel was not what I expected of a Mercure billed as five star. Mouldy bathroom, heavily stained carpet, questionable hygiene, and breakfast was not appetising and was served in very old and seemingly dirty pans. There was a long hair in my crepe. The staff were excellent, but there was nothing they could do to improve this hotel.
