Dear Sir or Madam! I’ve stayed several times in different hotels of your network through all the world and always it was pleasure for me. I knew, that the brand “Accor hotel” is the guarantee of the quality level. This time I was completely disapointed. 1. The hotel is really old and have not been renovated for many years. 2. It was simply dirty in my room! Table was crashed, doors did not closed and so on. 3. Breakfast is poor. Up to me, it should be illegal to offer coffee from Nescafe machine in Mercure hotel. 4. Staff was nice, could not say anything against them.

« Great hotel but no available booked room on check in »

Great for the last 6 nights but the 1st night my Accor members Privilege room with a pyramid view had been given to another guest so I had an inferior room for the night so was unable to unpack, and moved the following evening. I was not told about this on check in- staff tried to give me a standard room with no explanation until I queried why it wasn’t my booked room.

« Room conditions were very poor. »

We had booked five rooms in total. We had several issues with all the rooms. Shower drains not working. AC's weren't working. Overall the rooms were also not very clean. They were very dusty. Most of the doors wouldn't even close properly.

the hotel itself is very dated and urgent need of refurbishing. rooms are quiet small and quiet dark.internet is extremely slow, when available. breakfast was good choice.the proximity to the pyramids is the only pro I can think off.

only fans worked in the rooms, not air conditioning. There is a differenace which I think not even the manager understands. Doors are old and can be knocked down easily and dont close properly. no blackout curtains in the room. Although staff helped and tried to relocate us to a better room, all rooms seemed to have a problems. Carpets also dirty. This hotel need more money invested in it . will never recommend to anyone. Hotel manager is responsible and should do something about it instead of investing the money in his pocket.

This hotel was not what I expected of a Mercure billed as five star. Mouldy bathroom, heavily stained carpet, questionable hygiene, and breakfast was not appetising and was served in very old and seemingly dirty pans. There was a long hair in my crepe. The staff were excellent, but there was nothing they could do to improve this hotel.

I stayed here two nights with my husband while we were on a tour. Being a Gold Accor member, I have stayed in many Accor properties, Mercure ones included and have been quite happy, however this Mercure was such a disappointment. First night we stayed in a standard room. There was a bad smell, I didn’t know where this came from. The stained carpet perhaps? The mass amounts of dust in the room? Cleaning standards was definitely below the standards of an Accor Hotel: numerous cup ring stains on tables, bathroom had strands of hair all over the floor, and really dusty and dirty surfaces. We upgraded our room on the second night to a pyramid view room, this was bigger and had views of the pyramids, but same funky smell emanated from the room, again cup ring stains on table tops. Drain in the shower was blocked so by the time I finished showering I was in a swimming pool. Food is ok at this property, room service was prompt, although service in the Romeo and Juliet restaurant where we ate on the last night with our tour was terribly slow. One of our tour guests had to order his meal twice and it came out 30 minutes after everyone else got served! Not great service. Breakfast in the cafe area was boring and plain, and not worth the money. The whole property is very outdated and needs a serious refurbishment. We stayed at another Mercure property in Luxor and this one was lovely and clean and very well maintained, I was happy to spend the money on extras such as massages, room service, drinks etc, so I don’t see why this Mercure property can’t be updated. I was really tempted to check in to the Sofitel or Fairmont property to get out of this hotel but stayed here to be with our tour group. If I was to come back to Cairo, this would not be a hotel I would choose to stay at.

On arrival to our room ,my sister and We wished to have a coffee. We noticed that you supplied a nestle coffee machine however no coffee pods were supplied I called extent 2 and a female advised she would send some to our room 2108 the time was appox 3pm but no one came . I called again about an hour later and this time a name answered and after I told him that I was still waiting on the pods he said sorry will send some now. No one came . I called again aprox 1 hour later and again spoke with a different male . After explaining the above he too said sorry will send someone immediately. After about 30 minutes a male came to the door with a hot water kettle . I tried to explain and showed him the coffee machine and all we wanted was some coffee pods. He said sorry he would check and come back. No one came back . We gave up and at aprox 7.30 we left our room to have dinner in the resturant. The next morning at about 6.45 we went to have breakfast . We noticed and unlike the other 6 hotels we had stayed at in Egypt on this trip you had to get our own table and coffee . Coffee was obtained from one of 2 push button coffee machines. We tried both machines however when you pushed the expresso button only water come out. Both coffee machines were overflowing with waste water /coffee and even spilling on the floor. We again gave up on the coffee and progressed to try and locate some sealed single serve yogurts however you had none only a bowl of what may have been yogurt however there was no label in sight . The breakfast area was very busy and there appeared to be no hotel staff supervision . I then progressed back to the breakfast desk and spoke with the male attendant and asked him how was I to get an expresso and he said we would get me one . As he didn’t say seat down and we will bring you one I stood at the desk and some minutes later I was given a coffee. I then asked about the yogurt and he took me to the bowl , a self serve yogurt and said this is all they had. My sister had a croissant which at all the previous hotels were always fresh however found yours were stale and she didn’t finish it Whilst I was seating at our table I noticed that the coffee spillage at the coffee machines had still not been cleaned up and I had to locate a staff member to request it be cleaning up before someone slipped on it . It took more than 10 minutes for this to be done . I have pictures of this if you like . We also noticed that some of your guests were eating at the food stations having not only picked up food with their hands instead of with tongs but also putting food back using their hands . We were quiet horrified at the lack of staff suffervion of this unhygienic situation before us. We then progressed to the restaurant desk to speak with the attendant who said that he was very sorry however some Indian guests had different hygiene practices? He offered for us to stay and he would get us some breakfast. We also told him about our yesterday’s coffee experience . We told him we had a guided tour to attend and now didn’t have time however would speak to him on our return. We didn’t return to the hotel till after 4 pm but we were unable to locate the person we had earlier spoken with . The next morning we were leaving and chose not to participate in your supplied breakfast however wanted a coffee . The same male was at the restaurant desk and he said to me I hadn’t come back yesterday to discuss our experience but that he had requested coffee pods to be delivered to our room. We told him that no coffee pods were delivered he was very surprised and even went to our room to check. He returned with appeared to be a supervisor saying he was very very sorry and yes no coffee pods were delivered to us. He asked how would it be possible for the hotel to make up for this bad service . We told him we were leaving so there was nothing he could do now. I told him I was an Accor member and He offered to give us ftee points which I said I would accept . Both your staff members said they would do thus immediately and send me an email. I have yet to revive any such email nor points now some 3 days later . I intent to do what ever I can in the coming days to post our very poor review of your hotel

Overall a disappointing experience. Check in was not friendly or helpful. I received no information about restaurants, or basics like wifi. There was no information in the room. A complimentary fruit plate was given as a nice gesture, however the dates were overripe and rotting. Guest service from employees was not approachable, attentive or helpful, we were ignored at the front desk on more than one occasion. The food at the buffet at Alexandria was poor and overpriced at dinner, and below average at breakfast. There was garbage in the hallway outside our room when we checked in, and still there when we checked out the next day. On a positive note, the beds were very comfortable.

The hotel location is fantastic, easy to find next to great pyramids. The check in process was good but basic, I didn't feel special as being Accor club member. The room was nice but needs some maintenance. Staff are cool. Breakfast was nice.

« Lovely hotel but lacking maintenance, friendly staff and overall a great stay. »

Facilities good - pool very clean, grounds tidy. Rooms getting tired and hotel is generally due for refurbishment to maintain a four star rating. Smoking permitted in foyer which makes it thoroughly unpleasant for guests. Carpets would be enhanced 100% from a shampoo and deep clean. Staff excellent.

« No toilet paper or heat in the room. Not enough towel and dust in room was thick enough to write our names »

While the staff tried to fix our concerns, we had to go To the front desk to get towels and washcloths after waiting several hours. We also had to request toilet paper and tissues as none was in either of the rooms that we had reserved. The room, floors and walls were very very visibly dusty.

This hotel is by far one of the best choices of one intends to stay around Giza and is conveniently located within 10 mins from the great Pyramids of Giza. My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and were thoroughly satisfied with the amenities, services and location of the hotel. The pyramid view rooms have the best possible view in town and the hotel is well equipped with amenities like a grand swimming pool, choice of restaurants, stores, bank, gymnasium and spa. We liked the cuisines served at breakfast as well as the rooftop cafe as well as the size and upkeep of the rooms. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Giza as this hotel offers the best value for money and provides all necessary creature comforts for a pleasurable stay.
