« Unpleasant encounters »

Upon arrival on Feb 6 morning, we were told our room can only be ready by 12.00noon. Having checked-in online 48hrs prior to arrival and paid the extra of AUD45 for early check-in at 9.00am, this was quite unacceptable. Eventually, we were given rooms 723 and 901, both facing west which we declined due to bad experience encountered during our last stay from the noise of next door’s Roof-top-bar operating until wee hours over the weekend. After much hassle of going up and down the lift with luggages, we were finally given 712, and was told the room was reserved for someone. Strange! We have checked-in 48hrs prior!. Feb 8, the taps ran dry, none of the staff would know how long water outage would be restored, no notice was posted to us. We ended up brushing our teeth at the ground floor toilet next to the lift. Coming back to hotel at 4.00pm, to our dismay, room was not housekeeped yet. We were offered to move to Novotel which is rather far, we chose not move because of our luggages, we could only fill up plastic bottles for washing hands and toilet flushing. Some how, it was a good gesture to received meal vouchers. Feb 9, we finally received the first notice under our door on water outage. We were delighted to take our shower, as we emerged, we found the white bath towels with yellow stains only to realise we have been showering with ‘brownish’ water...Feb 11, we received again another water outage notice, thank goodness, we were out of the room and water was available when we were back.

« Comfortable and very clean hotel in a very convenient location, nice breakfast, friendly staff. »

We upgraded our room to get a larger bed than the basic room at a reasonable cost, breakfast at $1 per person was also a bonus. The car parking was initially confusing and not explained well on the Hotel booking site but was a better deal than paying at the car park directly once we discussed it at the check in desk. The hotel is very nice and feels quite new and was very clean. We have stayed here several times many years ago and I think the hotel is better now than I remember it in the past. Overall it was a very nice stay.

« Good apart from water issues »

We started ok, however there were major water issues in the hotel. This is entirely not the fault of the staff or hotel as these things are beyond anybodies control. The communication could have been slightly better that it was going on as we had to go and advise them on multiple occasions. Having said that once we had gone a day and night without water we were transferred to the Novotel. We were also given a voucher for food. The staff were really lovely about it.

« Short and dry »

Checking into the hotel when, finding out there was no water in the hotel from other hotel guests. After going to the room, and trying out the water, no water. Went back down to reception and approached the check in agent who checked us in and asked “why didn’t you tell us there was no water in the hotel when we were checking in?” Response “I thought it would be fixed by now.”. I then got told that the tanks are filling up and should be finished in an hour or two”. Went out to explore the city of Perth, then came back before seeing a show to freshen up, and no water once again. The reception staff had changed shift and the lovely lady was really helpful. She was very honest with us and telling us the truth regarding the situation with the water. She organised our move to another Accor property very promptly for our entire stay. She deserveds a metal, as pretty much everyone was complaining and rightfully. The entire problem was handled really badly. The Gerneral Manager not really knowing what was happening. This experience has really turned me off staying at the Ibis Perth and staying away from the Ibis brand entirely. Really enjoyed everyone at the Novotel on Langley. Staff were amazing to quickly check us in and look after us.

The disruption to the water supply was caused by a breakdown that was completely out of our control, though this does not make it any easier for guests such as yourself that were negatively effected by it. The process of repairing the problem became very complex. There was some confusion early on due to mixed messages coming through regarding the progress of the repair work, and unfortunately the staff (including me) could only comment on the information we had at the time. I was very happy with this hotel. The location was great. We did the Fringe festival so location was important to me. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was first class. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I will stay again!!

No water in hotel then when some rooms got water it was cold. We had to spend the day in 36 degrees having not been able to shower.

« Rocky start; strong finish »

Having been a returning hotel customer this experience initially started off poorly. The room I was given was tiny and dark in comparison to my usual plus the person who checked me in failed to recognise me as a silver member and did not offer me a drink etc until I raised it. However management realised I was unhappy with this and upgraded my room to what I was used to plus some lovely chocolates and free chips. The rectification by management made me much happier.

Water was off when we woke up (having stayed only 1 night) we waited 4 hrs being repeatedly told the water would be on in 5 minutes. We checked out with nit a word of apology or explanation.

Unfortunately there was a water issue during our stay. We had booked for 3 days and the water problem was at the start of day 2. Staff should of been more honest about the situation and not make statements that obviously cannot be achieved, ( the water will be back on shortly). The outcome was we were relocated to the Mecure into a suite, but not before several complaints were made. We thank the Mecure for the comfortable suite and the service was outstanding, which was greatly appreciated.

The hotel is very 9ld, and unfortunately it doesn't give a good impression from the lobby all the way to the rooms. We run out of water for two mornings, the lifts broke twice, and there were no stairs to use. The staff was very friendly and helped us to cope with all those troubles.

The room is not big but it was quiet and comfortable. We had a noise issue early on the morning we checked out and the response from the staff there was not great - but the response afterwards from management was very good and we are satisfied with the outcome.

I have stayed here before and have always been satisfied. This trip the staff were lovely as usual however only one out three lifts were working which made for at times lengthy wait periods to go down or up. On the third day, to my dismay, there was no water to have a shower which made me feel uncomfortable for the rest of the day as I had to go to a full day training course then wait at the airport for my flight and didn’t get home until 20:30 hours that evening. I know this wasn’t the fault of the staff but management should have been on to the fault earlier!p

Staff were great. I had trouble with my credit card - it wouldn't work. Staff were very patient. It finally worked and I thank them for their patience. The close proximity to shops, train and bus services is mainly why I stay at Ibis.
