Recently refurbished, guest rooms at Mercure Brisbane offer a range of accommodation options to suit all guest requirements, including Superior, Privilege and Deluxe options. During the refurbishment, Mercure and WMK Architecture collaborated to create awarm yet modern space filled with bright colour, which is both inviting and comfortable. The work of local artist Kelly Fielding was also incorporated into the room design, which includes her range of headboards designed to resemble the Brisbane River.

« Who’s underwear was on my floor?? »

Our room was pretty tired and was directly next to the lower roof of the hotel. The worst part was finding someone else’s underwear on the floor next to the bed.

« It was ok but really could have been better »

The room was perfectly normal with just two exceptions. Firstly, there were no downlights in the main bedroom. This made the room uncomfortably dark in the evening. It was hard to see the things in my room. When I called reception I was informed that it was due to poor room design and that the lighting problem was scheduled to be fixed after my departure. You really shouldn't sell rooms like this because it really leaves me with a bad experience when most everything was ok. The second issue was that I didn't touch the mini-bar and yet two items appeared on my bill for $10. In never ever touch the mini bar because I consider it a huge waste of money. So did someone mark down the wrong room or are some of your staff helping themselves to the minibar while I'm out during the day? Thankfully the people at reception were able to take it off my bill without any fuss.

« Unpleasant towards the end. »

It was great for a couple of nights until I got a beer out of the minibar and popped the lid, put it on my mouth and took a mouthful of it - it was certainly not beer, tasted like soapy water. I felt literally sick in the stomach from it, tried and washed out my mouth but I have swallowed the first mouthful. I am not sure whether it was good water or toilet water. I wasn't sure if it wasn't contaminated with hepatitis virus or other stuff. The staff was contacted straight away and despite the fact they were very nice to me by giving me two beers - I downed them in no time because I wanted to free myself from the after taste of the revolting content. I will never be able to tell whether the content was contaminated, infected or what it was but I think it is rather low that your hotel doesn't check on those things before guests are allowed in. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth and a bad taste in my experience with Mercure overall. I still am not sure what to do with this story as yet. What gives me the assurance that this is not going to happen again in the future. I have never experienced this kind of things before anywhere. It is downright disgusting.

« It was a pleasant experience. »

Whilst staying at your Hotel I took sick and the way in which your cleaning staff assisted my wife was wonderful. I tried to extend our stay by a further night with one of your staff members who had a training badge. She informed me that as we had booked through a booking agency she couldn’t help us. She didn’t quote me a price or offer me anything other than telling me to go back to the app and do it there. I explained it wasn’t a price question and that we just wanted to stay another night. She consulted another staff member and told me that she couldn’t give me the rate that we already had. Once again, t explained we just wanted another night. She just shrugged. Therefore we went to the Meriton on the Gold Coast. That was a shame as we had been enjoying our stay.

It was great but bare. No bedside table with draws to put personal items, no desk with draws, no cupboards or shelves in bathroom. Very minimal. Shame as it was a great room. Great service from cleaners. So friendly and helpful.

front desk was confusing on entry, rooms were nice and clean cleaning lady on 7th floor in the the morning was very helpful getting us more pillows and cleaning room breakfast was not very nice, dry over cooked bacon, no coffee no milk had to ask for these than got slugged 76 dollars for parking , for 2 days we stay at many hotels at least one a month , at others accour hotels have lowered parking to 15 to 20 per day , but the fellow on desk on our exit was kind of rude and blunt when i asked, we also told him we had one can of coke and one plain chocolate bar and i noticed on my bill i was charged for 3 items we are staying here again on 27th and 28th july as we have a business camp there with Aaron sansoni we had to book at the novatel on thurs the 26th as the accour person who done our booking stuffed up the dates, and we were informed you dont have a room for thursday night but its only round the corner so no stress for us but im concerned that we will have to pay from 6.30am on friday 27th till late sunday parking and it will be over $100 for parking , very expensive for 3 days you are the only accour hotel that hasnt offered anything, and i booked 2 rooms on this weekend not one lucky we only had the one car
