During the refurbishment, Mercure and WMK Architecture collaborated to create a warm yet modern space filled with bright colour, which is both inviting and comfortable. The work of local artist Kelly Fielding was also incorporated into the room design, which includes her range of headboards designed to resemble the Brisbane River.

Only stayed one night. There was no hot water either in the evening or morning. It was lukewarm. Declined invitation to join Accor email group, but then received promotional emails afterwards, so was clearly added to the email list.

Carpet as we walked out of the lift was old and dirty We were upgraded rooms well if that was an upgrade we would hate to see a normal room Bed was uncomfortable Overpriced parking

Check in service was a pleasure, the room was very clean, the view of Brisbane river was great, and the check out was quick , simple, and staff very very helpful and friendly. My only disappointment was the supposed to be, hot meals delivered to the rooms, were cold. Cold steak, cold fish and chips, not very nice.

We were meeting up with friends who had only just joined Accor. They wound up with a room on the privilege floor lint chocolates, cookies and a bottle of wine. As platinum members we got an ordinary block of chocolate and our room was on the sixth floor. When I queried this we were told some guests were given a sparkle room and that we had a block of chocolate and a bottle of water and that was all we were entitled to.

I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. I would like to let you know a little about our 'sparkle guests program' that we do. Each day we choose completely at random one guest arriving into the hotel, we ask one of our departments within the hotel to create a sparkle amenity for them for the day, the amenity can be chocolates, flowers or something more personal if we know anything about that guests arriving. It is just a little fun gesture that we do to try and say a little thank you for choosing our hotel. I do apologies if our staff member did not explain this to you, we certainly do not have any sparkle rooms as stated. I really am sorry that you did not enjoy the chocolate that was placed in your room, I am also sorry that your room upgrade to a King Suite was only allocated on the 6th floor. I will certainly make note to ensure that next time we allocate your room on one of our top floors. I felt very safe at this hotel. Good location for meetings in the CBD and near the river for running (over to South Bank and around the botanic gardens). All of the staff were very helpful, polite and friendly from the wait staff through to my room attendant. Nice room with plenty of space for a dining table as well as work desk. Good lighting in the bathroom - a must for me! The brussel sprout soup was delicious and so was my steak.
