Room key didn't work first time, when got into room was a massive booger in the shower didn't have time to go back downstairs again to get another room as I was due at dinner in your restaurant where ordered a medium cooked steak and it was so over cooked and dry it was cremated by your chef. There was bugger all service at the restaurant either so just ate me dry dry steak needee a extra beer to wash it down but no service. I Didnt get shown invoice at check out so $300 for a crap meal and I didn't even get a shower. When told staff at check out didn't really care. Happy for you to publish this one....

Novotel Brisbane is a comfortable Hotel on the edge of the City. A short walk to all that Brisbane has to offer. Rooms are modern and fresh, House Keeping staff very friendly. Check In can be a bit slow as there are sometimes not enough staff behind the desk. Also being a Gold Member it would be good to be Web Checked In all the way before arrival. Restaurants and Food are great, good selection and always fresh. Parking isn't cheap but as with all city hotels they never are.

« Rooms getting a bit tired »

The bathroom is not well planned, cannot select shower on without getting dosed in cold water while reaching around glass door. The soap holder on showewall is badly positioned to injure elbows while using the shower. At times a lot of water need s to be run until shower gets hot. Air conditioning defaults to 24 degrees after Card is replaced back into wall, this is too hot of a default setting whereas 21 degrees would be more appropriate for a default setting. Carpet in bedrooms are generally fairly warn and stained.

Great proximity to everything you need for a State against State, mate against mate mid-week break. Walk to the station, easy access parking and just down the hill is Brisbane CBD what more could you ask for?

The experience was ok. I found check in to be quiet stressful, I had checked in online but unfortunately my phone had gone flat. The checkin assistant could not find my booking and suggested I had made a mistake and I was most likely booked into either Southbank or the Airport Novotel... which I knew I definitely wasn't... she proceeded to call the other 2 hotels, which of course didn't have my booking This made me feel extremely stressed as I was concerned I had booked the incorrect night. The assistant then suggested I log into my email from the hotel computer, which then required me to verify details as I hadn't logged into that computer before, before finalising this, fortunately her colleague interrupted and looked my name up again and found it straight away. Somehow it had been booked back to front, Surname First name. The whole experience was stressful as we were tired after a long day and the assistant made me feel a bit silly that I had mucked up! The room was ok seemed to need a bit bbn of up dating especially carpets. Breakfast was great!

« My night was disrupted and I felt uncomfortable. »

I was woken up at 330 am to two phone calls. I called Reception and asked why, they said it might have been a wake up call that I did not request. And then at 430 am someone knocked and walked into my room. Apologised when they saw me and walked back out. This make me feel uncomfortable and unsafe that someone had access to my room without my permission. I did not sleep after these two incidents. When reception was notified the next day, they could not tell me why someone called me or why someone walked into my room. Not another word about it was said to me when i checked out.

When we checked in we enquired about the breakfast as we needed our breakfast at 5:30 a.m. the next morning. We were advised that there would be no room service at that time, but would provide us with complimentary box breakfast. And that we should call to advise the Concierge what time that we would need the box breakfast. When we called, the staff was very rude. He said he would charge us $50 and that we need to pick them up ourselves from the lobby. Ironically, the invoice showed a charge of $50 for "Restaurant - breakfast other". In fact it was only a box breakfast, not even a room service! The cost is ridiculous high. To me, this is blackmailing to ripped off those who can't eat in the restaurant. What a joke, the hotel is advertising special room rate discount with $1 breakfast!

Excellent that the gym is available 24 hours, I made use of it early. Food at breakfast needs improvement. The cold meat on Thursday morning was not fresh resulting in stomach upset. The menu in the restaurant is limited and needs to be varied on each day. The restaurant food for dinner was well cooked and presented.

the hotel seemed to be old behind the modern look. The bathrooms were not clean. The tap in shower was not easy to use. The advertisements and fine print didn't explicitly cover the parking fee. The staff at the hotel didn't advise paying with AMEX incurred additional surcharge! overall, it was a poor experience.

We stayed just 1 night with a very early check out. Parking was easy, check in was swift, express check out very convenient. The room was nice but stuffy when we arrived and the bed was too soft. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

Checked into hotel 2230hrs. Given room number and left to struggle, with 1 large suitcase, 1 smaller one. I had to ask Receptionist Delores, to help me to my room 13th floor. I am 69 years old. I wanted a food menu, TV put on, Menu not very appetising, No Soup, Toasted Sandwiches! I then asked if room temperature, could be regulated. Froze all night, what happened to extra blankets and pillows in cupboards??

Decision to put most services on TV (room service menu, hotel information, movies, etc) has it's set back that cannot be rectified. During my stay, the TV could not connect to the servers. The situation could not be fixed and was offered the hassle of moving room after I have settled in.
