« Terrible! Worst stay I have ever had with you »

Terrible, first of all cleaners cleaning other rooms opposite me at 10pm, then noisy adjoining room- reception kept coming and going from their room to assist them and would have heard the noise but said nothing to them so I requested and got a changed room at 1am. Then cleaners come in my room at 6am and walk in my room as I was “Qantas crew”, I sleep naked. I live 1hr away and booked to get a good night sleep and got very little so I was very annoyed that I had wasted “rewards points”

My wife and daughter traveled from Cairns to Brisbane for our daughters medical procedures. This is our second stay at the Novotel and we we very happy with the service and facilities. Our daughter was recuperating for three days and the stay was quite and restful. thank you.

I had 2 morning wake up calls that I didn’t request that greatly disrupted my young families sleep. When I reported this to reception at the time of occurancw there was a very indifferent attitude with no empathy for this disruption (before 5am).

Was in Brisbane for a procedure and the kitchen staff were really accommodating with making me a clear broth which was the only thing I could eat for dinner. I would recommend to friends and family to stay and would gladly stay again.

« Excellent staff and facilities »

My only reason for not giving this a 9 was the difficulty in getting to the hotel! Firstly, I will compliment the staff, who were - as we always find with Accor hotels - wonderful. We had been upgraded to a balcony room, which was very nice, and as requested, the mini-bar had been unpacked. We were also impressed with the bar and children's area downstairs, and the restaurant - we had two pleasant meals there. We usually stay at the Sofitel Brisbane Central, and we thought this hotel an excellent complement to it, as it appears to have an emphasis on families. For us, it is not quite as conveniently located, as it does not have the direct access to the CBD as the Sofitel has, but if we were not used to the easy access form there, we would probably have found the location more convenient than we did. Overall, however, we had a most enjoyable stay, and would happily recommend the hotel - especially to families. Now to my 'grumble' - how awkward and difficult it is to reach the front door of the hotel, if you do not know EXACTLY where to go! We were coming back from a few days at the Sofitel Broadbeach, and my husband wanted to be sure of the route to the hotel. We have stayed there several years ago, and knew it was awkward, so the previous day he googled the route from Broadbeach. Our GPS would not accept the address of '200 Creek Street' - the car is less than two months old, so it is an 'up to date' version - so we put in 'Novotel Brisbane', which brought up the same route as Google had set up the previous day, so we set off confidently. Frustratingly, this took us to the carpark off Astor Street. I phoned the desk for assistance. Jessica was extremely helpful, but we decided not to try to go to around to the front, as by this time, I was very frazzled. With a lot of luggage - this was our final couple of nights after almost two weeks away - we struggled up to the desk, with me quite crabby by this time. As I mentioned previously, Jess at reception could not have been more helpful, but it was not a good start. My point in writing all this, is that the confusion about the address really needs to be dealt with! It has to have a negative effect on customers. At the very least, as in our case, it does not make for a very good first impression - and first impressions really count!

unfriendly and ignorant staff at check in and had a similar staff in breakfast where I was embarrassed as I had invited a family friends for breakfastFor the very first time staying at Novotel Brisbane, I experienced such unwelcoming gestures from the time of arrival and onto the duration of my stay. As I walked in the front desk lady, Darcie, was on the phone (which is totally fine, i have no issue with that), i waited patiently and when she had finished her call, i proceeded forward to the counter, with not a single greeting, and all i got was a look at my face as if i did not belong there. There was no professional greeting, (a hello, hi or good morning or similar), i had to introduce myself as the lady (Darcie) was only gazing at my face, as if i was in the wrong place. I did not make any prior requests for early check-in, however i arrived at 11am and requested to see if i could check in earlier than our scheduled time. All i was told was the room was not ready and that i will get a call once the room was ready. I did not receive any courtesy call up till 2:15pm when i went in to check for myself. My point here is that there was no attempt to acknowledge my request. Although, to the credit of Novotel i really appreciated that i was given a Premier Floor level.

The room was adequate for my one night stay, very comfortable bed. When I booked my room I requested (if available) a room with a view but ended up with a view of the building next door. Had the full buffet breakfast prior to departure which was very enjoyable. Happy with the deal I had for my stay and will return next time I have need to visit Brisbane, (hopefully next time I will get a room with a view.)

It took 3 goes up and down the lift before my door key would work! Not good enough! I asked for a receipt to be mailed to my email address. 2 days later - no receipt! Not good enough!

« Convenient to the train to get around Brisbane. »

The staff were especially friendly, both on reception and in the restaurant and bar area. Nothing was too much trouble. The food from the restaurant was fantastic, very tasty and very competitively priced. It was just a bit too tempting to not go out for dinner and have a look around the city. If I had to complain about anything, the bed was a bit too hard and as we stayed a week, there wasn't much room to put things away, ie drawers.

The shower head was too high and without hand held shower head, very inconvenient for Asians. No locker in the health centre, very inconvenient for people taking a sauna or swim.?

« Atrocious. Staff friendly but systems simply are letting the entire team and brand down. »

Until you fix your hotel key situation, I will not be returning. Key issue is obviously is I will not know and possibly may not return. The number of times after a long day, that I have to go up and down the lift to get into my room, a staff member gives me a new set of keys, and they still don't is obscene.
