« Very disappointing for the second time . »

On arrival there was no one attending the reception. We had to knock on the door to the office to get attention for our check in. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our dinner experience was totally unsatisfactory . My husband and I waited almost 1 hour for our meal to be served. When it arrived my Barramundi was dry and over cooked ..My husband's lamb rump , side of potato au gratin and steamed seasonal vegetables were barely luke warm .. We didn't have our meals and left the Hotel to eat elsewhere. The restaurant was not not busy at the time . There is no excuse for this. It seems to be a case of paying for one meal and getting the second one free (50% discount) is the norm at Accor Hotels . A similar disappointing experience was had at The Pullman in Auckland . The Novotel in Darwin CBD is run down and in urgent need of refurbishment . The doors to all the rooms have paint peeling off them . The carpets are filthy . The toilet set and cistern in our room need replacing ,the tiles around the shower are mouldy and the Perspex shelves are badly discoloured . I have used my 2 free nights , which are not actually free as they have cost me approximately $1000 in joining fees . So far I have been consistently disappointed. When I was approached to renew my membership last year I was reluctant to do so , however thought I would give it one more try ...big mistake . I will not be renewing and feel that a refund of my current membership would be appropriate.

« Adequate, but hotel needs refurbishing and maintenance carried out. »

Adequate. Room was clean. However, report of non-functioning in room telephone was not fixed during my 3 days in residence. Ditto report of an empty wine bottle and half full water bottle left behind by previous occupant was not removed during my 3 days in residence.

I had no issues at all. The staff were friendly and polite. The room was a bit dated especially the bathroom and the curtains were old and did not shut all the way.

The hotel was in a convenient location. Staff were efficient and went out of their way to be helpful. The building was a bit tired but it was good value and the room was spacious.

The staff were all great - responsive and helpful. The bathroom is a bit worn and could do with a bit of a painting touch up - but it was clean. The air-conditioner was very loud - I had to turn it off to sleep!

The room was not the greatest of layouts; a large two seater couch next to the queen sized bed, with a pokey bathroom where it appeared like the toilet was an afterthought. The shower taps were confusing, and the bay style window was really not necessary as the view was of the next door hotel's rooms. The room wasn't really clean either with half used Nescafe sachets in the tea caddy, stains on the carpet and a hair in the shower

Had exact same experience as pervious stay, given a room with a mouldy shower floor which I could not possibly stand in, complained and then offered a junior suite which had shower over the bath , the bath was ok to stand in however still mould on tiled floors and around the bath and wall tiles. Bed was not firm. Ordered just an omelet for breakfast and got hash browns and tomatoes with it which I ended leaving on plate. Waited an hour for a pasta dish for dinner in restaurant, was offered garlic bread, but declined as would not have been able to eat meal when it does arrive, don’t understand the long wait as restaurant was not busy

For starters the porte cochere ceiling is collapsing and evidently suffering water damage, the reception staff seem about as happy as a one armed bricklayer layer in Baghdad to be doing their jobs, the door to room 208 sticks on the jam, the carpet looks like the sad effects of an out of control swingers party, the make-shift cabinetry enclosing the air-com condenser has screws half screwed whilst showcasing a delightful moldy hue from all the condensation, that unlike my doing, cant escape. In an obvious cost cutting measure both the curtains in the room and the shower are missing about half the hooks required to hold them up whilst the mouldy hue present in the lounge room matches that on the shower curtain also. Oh and the prices on your in-room laundry price list are about half of what you actually get charged for. Overall a pathetic excuse of a Novotel branded property and most certainly a deterrent from ever staying in one ever again.

The 1st greeting staff memebr, a local, was not really interested in welcoming us. Her boss was lovely. Your staff apart from the front desk girl were very lovely.
