This year's stays were our 7th and 8th stays. All staff members do a fine job. However, Carla is absolutely outstanding. She greets us and treats us as old friends. It is Carla my wife and I think of when we think of our pleasant stays at the Grand Mercure.

Service at front desk could have improved. Our room was not ready and no effort was made to speed up the process despite me informing the front desk we just got off a 10hr red eye flight. While I understand we arrived before the check in time, 1030am, this is the first time i experienced having to wait 4hrs for a room. I would have expected more empathy from the Front Desk to arrange for housekeeping to prepare our room earlier. Further, the front desk also didnt bother to inform us when rooms were ready eventhough we have been waiting at the lobby which is right infront of the front desk. We had to check multiple times repeatedly before I was informed that there were available rooms on another floor, just not the one which was pre-allocated to me.

I am terribly sorry to read that in this occasion we were not able to assist you with an early check in request. As you have stated our guarantee check in time is 2 pm, however we are always glad to assist and do whatever is in our power to look after our valuable guests. That particularly day you arrived we had a big volume of guests checking at the same time due to a big cruise ship arrived in the Auckland Harbour. Again I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. I will address the concern you have raised to the Front Office manager, please be rest assured that she will use your feedback for training purposes and take the necessary steps to better manage this kind of situation. I made changes online to arrival time using web/app, when arrived at hotel was news to the staff and our room was not ready. I found it very hard to find out what to do re car parking, lane way was blocked, I ended up parking in public parking building and walking. Room 1001, toilet seat is not fastened properly.

We stayed at Grand Mercure for easy access to central and downtown Auckland. The staff were friendly and helpful and our room was tidy and clean. The restaurant has great views and the waiting staff were very good. The meals were not large enough though and require more emphasis on vegetables.

This hotel is in a good area downtown within walking distance of many shops and resturants. The staff were friendly and helpful. I spoke with Ashley on the phone about parking and booking and she gave me great advice and help on my options. Our room was comfortable and quiet.

Comfortable stay - very friendly helpful staff. Well situated hotel for restaurants and harbour. We had very very noisy fellow guests one night in neighbouring room which was quickly dealt with by reception staff once they were alerted.

Loved the location, friendly staff and restaurant was excellent. Unfortunately had a bad nights sleep with street noise until 3am and a noisy bumpy bed.
