Very comfortable room and bed. Lovely cafe at lobby level inside/outside with great inexpensive breakfasts and light lunches. Perfect location for train station, airport bus, Wynyard quarter plus great restaurants nearby. Check in and out staff very polite and well-presented.

Generally happy with my stay. Good internet connection to VPN the office. Parking on arrival is a pain and it is not clear where to pull in for the valet parking. Although fire alarms not anyone's fault, surprised no discount offered as #1 was during dinner and #2 was at 0100am! Out onto the street both times.

We really enjoyed our stay and found the whole experience great and the Hotel to be a very relaxing environment to stay at. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately we were disappointed with our breakfast experience. Although the breakfast was plentiful and well presented and the staff were very friendly the food was cold and therefore not enjoyable. This was the second stay in the last few weeks where we found this to be the case - so therefore was not a one off experience and was disappointing to find this a second time.

This is in a great location, the room was clean & tidy but.... I requested a quiet room (twice) when I rang & also on check in however we had the worst sleep ever we might as well have slept on the street. I know you can't control the outside noise of people partying but there seems to be no soundproofing at all in this building. For the price I paid for the room is outrageous due to the noise levels & would have appreciated it if someone had of advised me to go higher up or said it isn't quiet on city side. I loved everything else about the Hotel but sorry we left with very little sleep so won't stay again

all good. Only one thing. We were charged an extra $64 for the room change (the difference between the room that was the free night and the upgrad)e but I thought I paid this at the time of booking.

I joined Accor membership and was promised that I get one FREE stay at any Accor hotel in NZ. Not quite true AGAIN. This happened the first year I joined and the same agent rung me back and when i told him the issue he said he would sort it out. Never happened. I thought I would join again and this time it showed I can book in advance. Obviously miles in advance as I wanted to go in a weeks time and EVERY hotel, even the Ibis, I still had to pay a percentage. Sofitel was hundreds. So I booked Mercure and had to pay $90 (membership privileges?). It told me what was inclusive and what would cost. Parking was indicated as being inclusive but when I went to pay the $90 I was told I had to pay another $40 for parking. There was ZERO indication in any emails or getting there about the cost either. Pissed off. I love the hotel and location, and love Accor hotels for business and for our little getaways but as a member this isn't great.

It was a pleasant and convenient place to stay.

Check in was efficient, room was well set up for a single user on a business stay with a good space for working. Just wish my company had booked the harbour view! Otherwise, room was quiet. I also enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant upstairs for dinner. Great service in the restaurant and fantastic view! Would definitely stay there again either for business or pleasure if I am visiting Auckland.

not what you would expect on your holydays, the hotel is well located on the positive side, and the view on to the ocean is nice, but the area around is quite loud with partying and even on the eight floor you can hear that. But the thing that ruined it all was the horrible breakfast experience which is unexpectable for a 4 star hotel, first totally understaffed, no tables available even if loads are free but just not cleaned, no food, you order coffee but you will not get and if you do it will be cold. First day I was told there was big group and we came late, so second day I came early but same situation not the want to start my day. On top even if we were not in the room most of the day it was not cleaned, I guess same reason big group. Never had such a experience at a Mercure before. The bar on the 13 floor is quite nice and at least in the afternoon there was nobody there. I complained and do you think I got something no not even a loud sorry or coffee - which i did not get at breakfast. For the room price which is not cheap -not acceptable
