no particular problem nor incomfort, but not felt welcome, room quite basic for a 4 stars, restaurant waiters very rude, welcome drink unsatisfying, no water offered, bottled water required ...

« Stop over »

Travelling though and needing a hotel for the night, this hotel fitted the bill. Room was large and convenient with a small child. Resturant on site was good, but food choice a little restrictive. Parking badly signposted and we have to park on the pavement with hazards on until we eent in to reception. Breakfasr had a great selection, but was busy. Computer games in reception for the kids eas a nice touch.

Keeping in mind that there was no higher Brand from Accor, I booked the Novotel & it was of good standard.

« Do not even think about staying here »

We were dropped at the hotel by taxi, no assistance with bags or door. Entering the lobby a bad odor was evident which really should have been enough to make us turn around and leave at that point! However as we had prepaid we decided to carry on and checked in. There was no offer of assistance to get our bags to the room just direction to the lift bank, The room had been set up for a family of four rather than just us. The corridors had a chemical cleaning smell and the room was old and tired. The location is adjacent to a busy highway and not near to the centre. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL IF A HOLIDAY TOURIST. We departed after one hour and enjoyed a stay in the NH Collection Genova Marina............but almost anywhere would have been better!

Bathroom need to be renewed...Aircon not running during these days not acceptable for 4 stars hotel, refrigerator not working....hoppefully after 2 days I changed room...i will changed hotel foit my next saty in Genova

Modern, clean ,central with wi-fi ,parking. The room enough for family with children and good breakfast Entertainment for children and Mac computers in the loby Value for money hotel I sugeste this hotel for family with children

« It was functional but the hotel is very tired. »

The size of the room was good and suited our requirements. The bed was comfortable and the sofa bed worked well for our son. The bathroom was well worn and definitely needs to be refurbished. Breakfast was functional but didn't have the variety usually afforded in a Novotel. The staff were pleasant, worked hard to ensure the buffet was maintained and the room kept clean.

« An option to think »

The hotel is an average Novotel standard, therefore people more or less know what will find. And that was our case. The reception was good and attentive. The building is a bit old, and therfore the renovations don}t fit very well. The swimming pool area is small and requires more care. The location is good, close to a subway station and bus stops.

« Genoa Novotel »

The hotel is located a small distance from downtown but there is a bus and train service nearby. We had problems with things not working in the room ( changed room once due leaky air on). Jug and coffee machine not working. Staff were very good and parking was also great. Bar breakfast was good value.

« Good hotel, awful location »

Staff were excellent, friendly and welcoming. Allessio in the bar was particularly good, accommodating us for dinner with our dogs in a very professional way. The room was very tired but clean. The towels were thin and smelly and the sheets not as fresh as you would hope. At least the air conditioning and sound proofing worked well. The reception area was pleasant enough but the pool area dirty, noisy and dominated by a couple of noisy families. Breakfast was ok and the staff here very good. The noise of traffic was instant and overwhelming outside the hotel and it was never a pleasant experience walking from the hotel.

« Not a good experience »

I'm great fan of Novotel and have stayed at many Novotel hotels but this hotel in Genoa is not up to standard. First I was not offered a welcome drink as a silver member. I was only given the drink when I queried the receptionist. Second, I requested for an iron but I was told none is available. Why there was no iron in an executive room and at the hotel still baffles me. Third, we arrived 12 noon and requested if we could check in hoping a silver member and having booked an executive room will be considered. But it was a flat no, you can only check in at 2 pm but the Holiday Inn just around the corner allowed us to check in at 12 noon on a previous visit to Genoa. Fourth, we had to queue for breakfast which was very poor compared to Novotel hotels I've stayed before. It was a disappointing stay.

« What I expected from Novotel brand… »

It was a family trip. My wife and 2 daughters (12 and 19). Desk staff was professional and welcoming. Room was compliant to what I usually expect from Novotel brand. Breakfast was good yet average. Swimming pool convenient yet very small. Hotel location is perfect for business. For tourists, hotel location is a little bit away from public transports systems and a car or taxi is needed to get to Porto Antico or City Center. But this is not a deal breaker and Metro station is not that far away. Overall a good experience.

+ accessibility because the hotel is situated right next to the highway --- the breakfast was very badly organized, people running around not knowing what to do, nobody took charge, lots of supplies missing due to uncoordinated actions of the staff --- the batroom in rooms 303 and 304 looked NOTHING like in your picture, very old, unsanitary and broken bathtub where the water would just stay in the bathtub instead of flooding away - appaling!

« Overall okay, but breakfast badly organized and too crowded »

The hotel is located between two major roads in and out of Genova. It has good public transport into town and a lovely small swimming pool on the second floor which is rather unusual for Genova hotels. The hotel is in need of refreshing, it was clean, but the bathrooms are old and the entire hotel just feels like something out of the 90s. Breakfast is a catastrophe, Staff is badly organized, tables are not cleared while there are long queues of people waiting , instead food is being filled up. It seems that everyone does a bit of everything instead of having clearly assigned roles. Probably employing two or three students for the high season would be a good thing. As a gold member the room upgrade was from superior to superior with sea-view. Considering the sea is roughly 500 meters away with two busy highways separating the hotel from the sea it takes quite some imagination to see this as an upgrade. Oh well. All in all we had a good time there, slept well, would probably search for an alternative accommodation next time.
