« Great Stay! »

The Novotel Sydney Brighton Beach was a lovely stay. Perfectly positioned in a quieter area of Sydney, right on the beach and yet close to the airport. Rooms are big and comfortable and clean with a separate lounge. Thanks Arfe and Nathan for making breakfast buffet special for my wife who is a vegan and myself.

We stayed at this hotel many years ago and it seems the décor has not been updated since then. The public areas and rooms are in need of refurbishment. We booked a spa suite - nice views but carpets, walls, lighting and TVs were tired and did not present well. Staff were friendly. It would have been nice if they had told us of the eating options for the area. No local information was given.

stay was short, due to renovations at home, I wasn't happy to be told when I booked in & asking about parking, that parking would be $25.00 a night, it wasn't explained to me over the phone when I booked. I would have expected that price to be included in the room or at least if you have to pay for parking, $10.00 or $15.00 sounds reasonable. The cleaners didn't take the take away rubbish that we left from our first night that we left tidy in a plastic bag.

Your rooms were extremely disappointing. Old and smelling of cigarettes. We tried your restaurant twice, once a la carte and another night the seafood buffet. Both times extremely disappointed with the quality, variety and high prices. The only positive about your hotel are the friendly staff.

« Rooms are outdated, damaged and horrible, but the staff are lovely. »

The staff were very understanding and friendly and the breakfast was lovely. My problem was with the rooms. This motel is too over priced for the presentation and condition of the rooms. The furnishings are inexcusably damaged and should be replaced. The TVs did not work due to the faulty remotes (which staff happily replaced). The walls are too thin, we could easily here children crying and hear the parents trying to get them to sleep; of which we then did not put our TV on at risk of disturbing them.

We had an upgrade to a lovely suite with a huge terrace, it rained most of the time so we could enjoy the great view. The seafood buffet on Saturday night was great as was breakfast.

Overall our experience staying at Novotel Brighton was perfect. I was incredibly impressed with the reception staff. They were friendly, helpful and made us feel very well taken care of. The receptionist that helped me check in remembered me from a phone call earlier that day which was really sweet and she made us feel special as we were there to celebrate my husbands 30th birthday. She sent someone with a trolley to help us carry our bags from our car to our room which was a really nice start to the trip. The breakfast buffet had an impressive variety and I loved how there was a chef there taking custom egg orders as well. I was also very impressed with the facilities within the hotel. The indoor heated pool meant the wet weather and cold wind didn’t affect our fun & we were able to enjoy ourselves all the same with our 4 year old in the warm pool with us. The fact that the hotel connects to the shopping centre meant the rain and cold wind didn’t get to us as we had lunch at a cafe downstairs. The complimentary bathroom items was so much more than the regular hotel would do and this really impressed me. The only issue we had was when we ordered room service the mezza plate came without the pita bread listed on the menu but this was easily fixed with a phone call to room service. It came after we finished the food but luckily we had brought some Nutella from home so we enjoyed it on the warm pita bread :) So all in all, a great experience and we were very pleased with the entire trip. Thank you to all the staff who made us feel like VIP’s.

« Nice place to base ourselves. »

We enjoyed our stay, particularly the pools, gym and spa. We loved having a view over the ocean. The room was a bit tight for five of us, but we were grateful that we could all stay together. The foyer had a bit of a smoky smell to it that we didn't enjoy, but we liked the look of it and the staff were very friendly. Our room didn't have enough towels or glasses/mugs for all of us, but the towels we did have were beautiful and big.

Last week I was offered a room on the 14th floor (1407) as an upgrade for the curtain and other issues I experience a few weeks earlier in 820. I was also offered a free meal in the restaurant. Unfortunately the curtains in 1407 are almost as bad and the restaurant was booked out for an event on the night we tried to get in. Overall a very poor hotel and I will not be coming back.

Pros: Gorgeous views , Outstanding Service. Delicious Food. Cons: A little dated. Hotel needs some love and updating .Traffic noise travels all the way to level 10 , might be time to sound proof the side that faces the heaviest traffic. The staff provided exceptional service and took wonderful care of us ! I would love to return.

Great location. Close to beach and plenty places local to get a bite. Little run down that requires a freshening up but overall great stay. I normally stay between flights and normally accommodates my needs.
