« Time for a refresh »

The accommodation while tidy and clean looked tired in appearance and due for a refresh. This was even more apparent in the hallways. The conference rooms themselves were well appointed, and the food provided ( light breakfast, morning and afternoon teas) was good.

« Worst Novotel experience I have had anywhere in the world »

At checkin I was originally served by a completely disinterested man. We were given a room next to the lifts and laundry for a three night stay (use that sort of room for one night and expedia rates). Asked to change with a very helpful lady but was given a room with a bed in each room instead of lounge in one and bed in the other. Again not suitable for three nights. Back to reception again and then given a nicer room at the front. Unfortunately though the room wasn't cleaned either day. Admittedly we didn't leave the room until lunch time each day but that should still be plenty of time to clean. After missing it one day surely housekeeping should have been alerted to not miss it the next day. Overall the property is very run down and badly in need of a refurb. Breakfast is very average. Your property is such a contrast to the Wollongong Novotel where we spent 10 nights in April. There we experienced great service, a comfortable modern room and a generous and good quality breakfast. Your property is beyond overdue for a refurb. The furniture in the rooms is sparse and outdated. The whole place screams of a hotel that has benefited from its proximity to the airport and hasn't needed to try hard so money hasn't been invested in it.

Was upgraded to Bayview room which was lovely thank you! Room was clean I thought it was strange that my bed had been made with all dress sheets ! I am head housekeeper at Mercure Wagga and we also do triple sheeting and only use the dress sheet for the top sheet , with a set of plain sheets, just found this odd ; other than this everything was wonderful reception always welcoming thank you

« F & B attendant named ARFE was very RUDE! And time for refurbishment the rooms! »

That attended named ARFE working in the restaurant SHOULNDT BE THERE! We got big disappointment when she told us off to move to other table “it was like telling off to the chickens to move away in the village” Hot & cold water in the shower was like my grandMother’s shower very old not comfortable, it is really time for refurbishment

I enjoyed my stay the room was great and the meals were lovely. My only issue was parking and not being able to get back into the park after leaving. The boom gate just would not open.

« A mini holiday not far from home »

We were meant to go to Port Stephens for the weekend but circumstances changed and we had to cancel. On friday morning we just decided to just get away for a treat and chose the Novotel Brighton le Sands. We chose a suite overlooking the Bay and it was lovely.

« Relaxing and pleasant »

Out stay was very special for me but some general maintenance is needed to be done.I have stayed there a few years ago and couldnt fault it but a bit of TLC of the building is needed these days on the outside and inside.Our bottom sheet even had a hole in it.You couldnt ask for better staff they are very polite and helpful and the bed was very hard might need up dating but over all we loved our weekend and thank you for making it a very special stay

Room was clean and nice. Conference rooms suitable and food quite nice. Due to a human error, my personal credit card was charged when I checked in, despite my school having prior provided the details (and my colleague having no issues.) While I understand errors, the process of having this refunded took time - I raised the issue on the Friday and was told it would be addressed immediately and a refund receipt emailed by close of business. This did not occur and so I called the hotel again on the Monday. I was told it was being processed and should be finalised by the Tuesday. By Thursday, the money was still not refunded - I called again and the staff member acknowledged the process had not started. After speaking with her, I received an email refund receipt within 30 minutes and the money was transferred successfully a few days later. All staff members were polite and professional when I spoke with them, but the refund process may need to be reviewed. While I accept that mistakes (the initial mistake of the staff member at check-in) can be made, it was frustrating to have to continually call to ensure that my money was refunded.
