We spent four nights at the Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort with two kids under ten - the upgrades to reception look amazing, and the rooms are fine for families. We loved the proximity to the beach and the availability of kayaks and catamarans for sailing on the lake. Staff were super-friendly.

Great family place to stay rooms were quiet and clean. Lots of wildlife around and lots of things for kids. It does get super busy at the bar/dining areas so be prepared to wit. But overall we loved it.

We stayed in room 272 the room layout was very good the balcony was large and the view was peaceful and relaxing. The dinning room good both food and service the grounds were great I did notice some maintenance issues that could need attention. Overall we thought we got value for money and definitely will stay there again

I had stayed here at least 7 times before and it is lucky that I had or I may have been reluctant to go back. They are renovating and customer service was not at its usual standard. I asked to be allocated a room close to my daughter, were 60 rooms away. Rooms were not serviced over the weekend and not until 4 or 5pm during the week. Network was down all week.

We found a deal that included the buffet breakfast and it was well worth it. Plenty of activities to keep the kids busy and having fun for a week long holiday. I would recommend a holiday here for families.

Fabulous ! We went one weekend and enjoyed it so much, we went back the next weekend and family came along as well. A great place for any age - so much fun for kids and adults on the kayaks and the sail boats - great buffet breakfasts - spent a few hours by the pool - lunch was good - service overall was 9/10 (far better than any service we've seen in a long time)

We were booked for two nights from the 27th sep but ended up staying only one night very upset and hoping to get a refund for the second night as advised from Soc at reception. First of all You still didn't advertise that the place was still under renovation when we booked, it was chaos finding our room, it was like a maze as we requested a room close to reception over the phone, it didn't happen. On that afternoon there was a van arrived with several Snake Catchers looking for snakes in front of our room. My wife has a phobia for snakes and locked herself in the room and wouldn't come out. I frantically rang the reception, concierge, room service to obtain an update of the snakes and none of them replied. We kept trying the phones all evening still no answer What a nightmare it's been.

Due to renovations in main foyer we had to book in at an outside temporary reception area. We were allocated a room which wasn't the one I had booked. When I questioned this I was given a different room only to discover that when we opened the door the room was already occupied with clothes scattered on the floor. Another trip back to Reception before we were finally allocated our correct room. There was no mention of the renovations being done when we booked the room which may have influenced our decision to stay here at this time had we known. The staff coped the best they could even though the main computer system was also out of action.

Good value holiday if you are after a place with a decent room and good breakfast. You really need a car to enjoy this hotel as its close to many attractions and restaurants on the Sunshine Coast. Just about every trip, I've been able to see kangaroos at this resort. Its walking distance to the beach. I preferred a quick walk around the lake after a big buffet breakfast though.

Should have paid us to stay there !!! We had booked 2 roooms neither of which were ready and the computer system was down for all of our stay and when we finally got into rooms the air conditioning wasn't working in one of the rooms!! ! THE PLACE IS A CONSTRUCTION SITE ! We had our granddaughter who is autistic with us and simply had to get her out of the resort !! The noise was so bad at area adjoining pool and eating areas that she couldn't be there during working hours !! Restaurant is very tired & dirty and service was woeful! We were halfway through meal before drinks arrived!! We have been going to this resort regularly for over 20 years but after this experience NEVER AGAIN !!!

Feeling of chaos

This is a great family resort in a beautiful setting, however and it’s a big however, our recent visit was not what one would expect at an Accor hotel. The computer system was out for our entire visit, so no charging to the room or cc, renovations were underWay which included hammering and drilling commencing at 7am in the room under ours. It was packed with school holiday makers and the staff did a great job under the circumstances. The breakfast buffet restaurant was packed but everything was topped up quickly for the mass. Unfortunately they didn’t have our name on the list even though it had been prepaid when booking.

We stayed for 3 nights. The Resort is excellent with heaps of activities for the entire families. We had a room that sat over the water which was spectacular. Seafood buffet was excellent. Plenty of fresh seafood and kids buffet also. Breakfast buffet was also really good.

I have stayed here over many years and it used to be a wonderful spot for a visit, especially with families however now it really is in need of a refresh. My over water suite, whilst it had plenty of room had curtains falling down, carpets not clean and back deck area really dirty. I understand the lobby area is undergoing an upgrade but check in and check out were time consuming and difficult. The restaurant was not bad with breakfast very good. I really hope this can be restored to its former glory.

The Location is lovely, comfortable, environment delightful.

We were visiting as members of VIEW, for the Convention. We were happy with the rooms, but had great difficulty locating them. We wandered around, asking directions of other guests with no luck and were rescued by a lovely Islander man, who collected our luggage and took us directly to our room. We were getting a little distressed after queuing for over an hour to check in, so he was the hero of the moment. The buffet meals, except for the VIEW Gala evening, were cold, the burners not adequate. Probably a health issue. The trays of food were delivered tepid to the burners and the burners not adequate for re-heating to a palatable level. Even the breakfast buffett was cold. It was really disappointing, as the buffett was expensive. Staff were lovely, location delightful.
