The lobby was being refurbished when I stayed, so there is some noise (drilling, hammering) during day hours, and the bar/restaurant is not operating (patrons are sent to the Pullman next door). Special thanks to the staff person who went personally out of her way to help me solving a health problem.

Hotel renovations resulted in poor experience

Hotel was in midst of renovations and did not warn of this when we booked. On arrival only three young women were present As staff, with no check in counter and an electronic check in protocol that was new and difficult for them to use so the check in took a very long time. There was no one to help with our bags on arrival, no bar, no restaurant, and they were unable to create electronic keys for our room for several hours after our arrival and so had to walk us to our room if we wanted to come and go. When we got to our room there were air pockets left in the water lines and it was impossible to get a usable water flow in the sink. The water was periodically brown so we could not drink it. We had to leave the hotel to find our meals. The only good things were the bed was comfortable and the young women were pleasant and apologetic.

Novotel Madrid Campo de las Naciones is conveniently located close to Ifema (Feria de Madrid) and metro connections to the airport and city centre. The friendly staff provides efficient service. There is ongoing renovation works. The breakfast is being served at sister property Pullman, in the same building. I found a limited selection compared to other Novotel across Europe. Overall it was a good stay.

First of all I would like to say that the staff were friendly and helpful at all the times. There was a major renovation going on and I felt that it affected our experience. Fire alarms went off several times. You can hear the noise of the construction. The breakfast was decent.

Okay for a night, close to the airport

The entrance was moved to a side door, this felt really strange as it was not communicated that the hotel was under reconstruction. Room was fine for 1 night with 2 adults and a child. The restaurant at Pullman serves great burgers!

Breakfast was highlight. Service not so much. My mother-in-law was robbed on the door. Lost over $2000 euros plus credit cards , phones and passports. The front desk witnessed whole thing and didn’t even call the police. A bystander had to call. Pretty much that ruined the vacation. We lost our money and credit card we were using for the vacation. The staff was indifferent. Just told us to go file a report in police station like we’re from here. We don’t know where that is. Wish they would us helped by calling the police and offering to show cameras they have placed there. We couldn’t do anything since we had no money left. The little we had left we had to to buy new passports and food. We couldn’t go to places we planned to visit. This vacation was worst ever. They had no guards the day we arrived when the incident happened. Now after what happened to us they put one there. A day late. This trip ended costing over $5000 dollars with us not being able to visit anything. Just walk around the city till today, finally. We were supposed to go To Italy and France but have to head home. Thanks to the negligence of this hotel. They didn’t call the police, they didn’t ask those strange people hanging in the lobby to leave, they had no security guards. They didn’t offer any discounts. I wish they would offered a full refund so I would have gone home the next day but they didn’t. Made me believe they were in cahoots with the thieves, why no call to police, why no guards. Now I see a guard all day where was he Monday? I used this chain in Barcelona different experience their. Staff was always present and helpful. This incident will definitely make me pick another place and recommend friends not to come here. Plus the construction gives a bad odor. Never even told us about the construction. Rooms were nice, clean, breakfast. Safety and response or non response i should say was the problem.

The hotel was being refurbished. So, there was a temporary reception breakfast and the bar were in the hotel next door. It would have been nice to have been informed prior to the booking. The fire alarm went off several times during the night (after midnight). As we evacuated they stopped, then started again several times. There was no information from the staff at any time. Had this been a real fire many of your customers could have been dead. What would your staff do in a real emergency?

The room was excellent, very comfortable, and had nice amenities. The entrance to the hotel looks somewhat chaotic because of the construction. Although my room was very quiet, I wish Accor would notify on its booking website about the remodeling so to give its clients the chance to reflect on that before making a reservation

We really enjoyed our staying at this hotel! The room was very clean and comfortable, the breakfast was great and the staff really kind and helpful. The location of the hotel is really good too, just 2 minutes away from the closest metro station. We used the hotel's shuttle from and to Madrid's airport.

Overall a nice room, comfortable bed, etc. Room had been recently decorated but very bare of any beautifying touches. Cannot understand the choice to provide single-use plastic "glasses" and plastic-lined disposable coffee cups in the room. At least there was a kettle in the room, which the much more expensive Accord Pullman next door did not.

As soon as we got to the hotel, we walked to check in. The person who attended is didn't even look at me to ask if I was staying in Pullman or Novotel. When told we were staying at Novotel, v he told us Novotel check in was out and left. Not very friendly.

Everything in the room was fine. The shower could have been more stable (the head fell off really easily) and it was slow to respond when the temperature was changed. I would also have liked a greater selection of teas.

Employees were very friendly and efficient. I was specially pleased when I knew they offered a free shuttle bus to go back to the airport. It would definitely be fantastic if this service would also be available from the airport to the hotel. Thanks!
