Have stayed here on numerous occasions but was a little disappointed as I had booked during the Hotel Transylvania promotion as we were traveling with our 2 year old grandson.. i had envisaged our room to be decked out as were the photos on the website but there was nothing... posters were being put up as we were leaving the hotel. So 1 Little boy was also disappointed. In future I suggest don’t allow people to book under the pretence that this is available..

I was welcomed on my arrival, the road was blocked & I was expecting my daughter who was driving & confused by the traffic, no problem, a staff member directed her via my phone, whilst another member took over the car & swept it away to be returned on our departure. The day we left, there was a massive traffic jam out front, plus about 6 buses waiting & what appeared to be thousands of people clogging the hotel entrance.It was swiftly dealt with by a solitary girl at the front door. In no time all were dispersed & on their buses, the front door was clear again, with no raised voices or any signs of impatience, it was a miracle.

service staff especially at Lane are very friendly and accommodating even when there were crowds. Special mention for Poonam (bubbly personality); the Filipino lady who did the morning coffee (sorry forgot her name); Joanna; 2 guys named Mark and an Asian (Chinese?) gentleman who attended to us during dinner (so charming). Reception staff were also very helpful. Unfortunately same cant be said of the standard of housekeeping.

« Worst nights sleep in a very long time »

Service and food was good but the air conditioning in the room was horrendous. It was like having a jet turbine right above your head, incredibly noisy and temperature control was non existent. Made for a sleepless night, effectively ruining what should have been a great experience.

My wife and I live in country Victoria and from time to time enjoy a few nights in Melbourne. By far our favourite hotel is the Novotel on Collins. Besides the great location, we find the rooms first class and comfortable. The best thing is the friendly service. All the staff are friendly, courteous and appear to genuinely care about making a guest's stay comfortable.

The hotel staff were very friendly. I was a little disappointed with the state of my room - the cleaners did an average job at best. (There was a small blood stain in the bathroom sink. In addition, the carpet wasn't properly cleaned - I found several hair clips lying on the ground. Both faults give the impression the room was a little on the 'grubby' side).

« A pleasant stay meeting all our requirements »

reception pleasant and helpful, It was over 2 years since we visited Melbourne and Novotel and were looking forward to our 2 night stay, however were disappointed with our Gold Card upgrade which was improved when we expressed our disappointment to the receptionist. Restaurant perhaps not as good as we remembered but breakfast was superb. In all a pleasant few days .

« Great size room, great food, friendly staff. »

Room and bathroom clean and spacious. Reception very helpful and understanding. Had a disappointing experience at dinner in Lane Restaurant, where our order was taken but was lost or misplaced and only after an hour and mentioning it to another staff member was it rectified. At breakfast the following morning, the same thing happened with ou coffee order.

Great value Accommodation, room clean, tidy, spacious and quite. Beds and pillows very warm and comfortable. Breakfast Buffet had many alternatives, hot and delicious. Central to an abundance of stores big and small, close to all services including free tram. Short distance to walk to MCG & Etihad. Bonus Pool & Gym for those quite relaxing moments.

We found the facilities clean and up to date and the staff were helpful and courteous. As Accor members, we enjoyed the loyalty rewards ie discounts, room upgrade, complimentary drinks. Giving guests a complimentary coffee whilst waiting for check-in at busy times, is a great idea.

The room was great the children enjoyed the pool and breakfast was delicious. The service we received at breakfast was amazing we were made to feel most welcome by the lady who greeted and seated us. She was truly friendly and cheerful and great with the children when she offered tea or coffee for myself she asked the children would they like a hot chocolate. It was clearly busy but everyone was smiling helpful and making time for all the guests. Wonderful

« Central location, brilliant hotel »

Can’t really fault this place. After making the reservation, we appreciated the opportunity (via promotional email) to upgradein a number of ways, with payment, beforehand if we wanted to, which we did and the upgrade was inplace when we checked in. Thus, no problems checking in and the staff were very friendly. The staff also arranged, in advance, private transfers for us, which was perfect. Very clean rooms, new carpet and good quality, very modern, good housekeeping, small bathroom but very clean and new and loved the pillow choices. We were St view on L12 and despite the street construction, couldn’t hear a thing. Clean sheets and comfy King bed. The location of this hotel is so central including cabs or trams and therefore perfect. The only thing, and it is not a fault it is just a bit odd, is that recption is on L3 whilst concierge is alone on Grnd Floor. However, it works. Didn’t have a meal in the restaurant but ordered room service; food is ok not amazing. It arrived exactly when they said it would though. Did have drinks in person at the bar on L3 near Reception. Very friendly and cool bar staff who definitely know how to make an excellent Cosmopolitan (cocktail). The green decorative and artistic hanging installation between Reception and the Bar is amazing!!

We only checked in at 7am as we arrived on a morning flight. The reception staff was kind of allow extension of room usage till 1pm, given we only have a few hours to enjoy the room anyway. Room was simple, comfortable. Breakfast was great, particularly liked the self-pressed fresh juices. Will return definitely.
