« Awful customer service - never book with this hotel ! »

I made my reservation through hotels.com. A couple of weeks before the stay, I wanted to cancel a couple of bookings, I tried to do this on hotels.com's website but it wouldn't allow me so I had to phone them to change this. I was assured that these changes were made. I received an email the day before my stay, from Novotel claiming that I hadn't arrived the night before - however I had cancelled this night. I phoned Novotel up and Novotel said you had no record of this change, therefore I phoned hotels.com and they confirmed that they had spoken to Novotel and got this changed, but Novotel denied all of this, and said that no one from hotels.com got in contact with them, even though it was written down the person from Novotel had changed this. Because of this I was still made to pay the night before even though I didn't stay and even though I got this room cancelled. Clearly the person from Novotel spoke to hotels.com and said the dates were changed but obviously forgot to change it in their system, so rather than taking the blame, they are saying it is hotels.com's fault even though it's not. I find this appalling on their behalf and can confirm I will never be staying in a Novotel again. I find this a shame as I have often stayed in one and have been a loyal customer. Despite the fact this is their mistake, hotels.com gave me a voucher with money off, this goes to show that your customer service is terrible. The customer is always right. Not only this but even though I was forced to pay the extra night, I asked for a confirmation by email once the transaction was paid and I never received this either.

« Not enough Staff??? »

I had nothing but issues with this hotel regarding service. The room was impeccable, but it does seem that there are systems in place that the hotel is incapable of managing. Every day, some times, multiple times per day, there were issues. It started with the text telling me my key was ready for me, but when I arrived, the room was not ready. When I reserved, I indicated I needed a Vegan meal, and I had an urgent need for my clothes to be pressed. Well, NO ONE knew about my dietary needs, and the "urgent pressing" could not be returned until 24 hours later. There were many others, but the one that takes the cake. I asked the front desk which SUSHI restaurant I could call to have some Sushi delivered. I was informed that I was not allowed to have food delivered because the hotel had a restaurant...a manager did come out after a while to tell me I could order sushi...was it that or when I called room service before closing and was told they could not make anything for me for dinner (dietary restrictions, remember) because it was too late and I should have called earlier...NEVER AGAIN AT THIS HOTEL!!!

« no good customer service, its a hotel for the conference. »

Had to wait for the room at 6pm arrival, no customer service to apologise at all. The room was privileged, but there was nothing special. Provided only 1 bathrobe and slippers for the 3 of us. The room cleaning delayed one day it came after 6pm, so we did not asked for it. Some points the meals are very rushed, the breakfast is like I should hurry to work. No parking at the hotel, this is managed by a separate place and is quite expensive- no discount for hotel guests.

We would not stay again. The toilet was one of the smelliest I've ever came across. The room was very small for 4 people. My favourite bit was the complimentary bottle of water between 4 people

The location is very good, close to train station and monuments (right by Palace of the Dukes). Staff was very helpful. The breakfast was so/so: lacking in great French pastries (seemed commercial, not artisinal - I would pay extra for better quality). Could have had more fresh fruit offerings instead of cut up variety. Web site should offer map for those walking from train station. Pictures should show actual hotel. Kind of drab exterior. Add fresh plants and flowers to warm up the pls e outside. Breakfast/restaurant has nice terrace with wild flowers. Windows let all enjoy.

Nice hotel with helpful people. The breakfast is good and the room to take it is extremely well exposed to the sun which is just a pleasure first thing in the morning. The bed could have been better for the price my company paid.

A Nice week at a quit but a Central hotel though. Polite staff who always said hello, Clean room. Papercups etc were replaced every day.
