It was a very bad idea of staying at ibis melbourne at therry street. Very rude manager on duty not ready to comply with the things written in the confirmation maik. We reached ibis at around 7am on 1st sept 17 and as requested asked the keys of the room to which the duty manager said that the room is not ready till 2pm. It was chilling cold and we were with our 2.5 years old daughter. Then we showed him the mail we got from accor that the room keys will be ready on our arrival but still he was not ready to listen to it. He was continuously changing his statement. He asked for 30aud extra payment to get the room ready. He was very rude and also threaten us that he can make us leave the hotel. We were in such a situation coz if the cold and small daughter that we paid 30 dollars. It was a very bad experience I was getting a better deal at the same hotel from some other website but after calling them they told us that if we book through accor we can be assured that the room will be ready on our arrival.very rude manager doesn't know what custo.er service is. Will never ever recommend ibis to anyone travelling to melbourne.

Our stay in ibis hotel was fantastic and full of joyful. The staff were very professional and cooperative. The important think was that they are all well known of transportation system of Melbourne which helped me a lot. For Improvement: I had noticed that the lights are on 24 hours in lift lobbies and corridor.Save energy by installing motion sensors for lights

We originally was put into a room with the window looking into a brick wall, i was pretty disapointed ( as the hotel we had on the other side of town i has a fantastic view).. i then noticed the air cond was making running water noises /dripping constantly, i thought no way will i be able to sleep with running water noises.. so we went down to let the staff know... we spoke with a lovely young girl who couldnt of been any more helpful.. she straight away knew we needed to be moved.. I requested a room with a view.. she asked if we wanted to be upgraded for a extra small fee to the apartment instead of just a hotel room.. i was quite happy with that as we was there for 3 nights.. we then went to sus out our new room.. on entering we was blown away, this was 100 times better and even better than the hotel across the other side of town.. we had our view.. we had 2 bedrooms, seperate toilet, a kitchen and lounge.. was awesome.. we was like litttle kids all jumping up and down screaming with joy lol. ( myself and my 2 grown daughters) we couldnt get our stuff in there quick enough.. the only down side was the carpark.. we was not told to unload our luggage on the road.. we has it all in the car in the carpark and had to drag suitcases up stairs.. no lift from the carpark.. also getting into the carpark ( how u get the lift up door to open) wasnt clear.. and getting out is very tight.. needed to reverse and swing around again just to exit the door or u hit a wall. .. you have to drive up a steep hill tooting ur horn so u dont run over pedestrians as u exit..

After traveling for almost 2 weeks and having a dreadfully early flight we were welcomed by Chantelle who was very pleasant and accommodating. She was able to hold all of our bags and was able to give us an early check in which we were very grateful for. We grabbed breakfast and came back and spoke with Josh (if I remember correctly) who gave us our keys and later even called the room to check on us, very nice! The room was very clean and much more updated then our last two which was very refreshing. The mini fridge was not so mini and fit everything we needed and more! We had some issues with our internet connection but Chantelle was great about helping us fix it and discovering the problem. A few days later we came down to ask directions for the train (which was our first time taking public transportation) and we ended up talking to Thomas. He was very pleasant and helpful even made sure to write down and give us 3 different trains we could take. I met one older Russian lady who was cleaning the rooms who was very sweet and one thing I noticed was the carts seemed very heavy? Maybe there is something you guys could do to help your cleaning staff out. Overall, the last 6 days of our trip with Ibis was a breath of fresh air for us after not encountering very friendly and/or helpful people. Thank you and your staff for a wonderful experience! Keep up the good work.

Excellent welcoming service and kindness from staff especially Annelies the receptionist on duty when my colleague and I were in search of accommodation late at night after our flights had been cancelled. The receptionists can do attitude and kindness is a credit to your organisation.

Met by very friendly and efficient check in staff. The room was clean and the bedding very comfortable. I had an excellent, quiet sleep. Breakfast was ok and fair value for the price.

The staff were really nice - however there were a few minor issues:- 1. First night wifi was glitched and over 2 hours had to go to front desk twice to resolve the problem; 2. Could not phone front desk and could only venture down to see staff physically to resolve problems; 3. Out of the 3 nights we stayed, on 2 nights at around 8pm, the AC would turn off and the electricity for the outlets would go off as well (although the lights stayed on) - this was resolved with the help of a staff both times but just caused minor inconvenience. Just some comments to improve your service for future guests (including us!). Overall a good experience with a great brand hotel.
