I enjoyed four nights in a large and comfortable if somewhat basic room - just what I would expect from the Ibis brand. I liked the temporary breakfast arrangement of coffee and croissants in the bar - more to my taste that a large buffet. The staff whom I met were particularly charming and helpful.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was uncomfortable and had a plastic cover over the mattress. In a 30+ degree heat thus was uncomfortable sweaty noisy and unpleasant It was not worth the €100+ I've stayed in cheaper nicer branded hotels

I booked online for a good value room without breakfast at Euro 63. I arrived in Bordeaux Merignac late in the evening. Into Bordeaux Gare St Jean by very hot bus. I found a Hotel Ibis by the Gare St Jean. There, they told me they had no record of my booking. I think it was Budget Ibis opposite the station. They told me there were FOUR Ibis Hotels by the Gare St Jean and directed me to another one. This was also the wrong one! Here, the concierge kindly telephoned the other two hotels. The first said No. The second said said Yes my name was there. The concierge gave me rough directions to find the hotel- down a very seedy street near the station. By now it was 9:30pm and I was very tired. I found it, really quite worried that I would not manage to do it. The Hotel was OK and I was given my room keycard. I found my room - with good air conditioning. But I knew it was very late to find a meal outside so I left my valuables in the room and took some cash only for a meal. Most places were closed for meals but I was directed to a place opposite the station. There, they told me I would have to hurry because the kitchen closed in ten minutes. I ordered a Pizza and a beer, but only just in time. Then a stranger came, told me he was high on drugs, and stole my second beer so I returned to the Hotel along a very dark street. When I got to the hotel, the concierge told me that I could have breakfast there the following morning. I thought this was a gesture of kindness because I was obviously tired, and I was very thankful and he showed me the salle a manger for the next day. The next morning I took a VERY small breakfast. As I was eating, the waitress came and told me I would have to pay for it. I mentioned this to the concierge and he confirmed I had to pay Euro 12:50. I explained what had been said to me the night before. Eventually he said lui a trompe. So I paid. 12:50 seemed a lot to pay for one cup of coffee (after that the machine was empty), a bowl of fruit salad and two small pancakes with maple syrup. I chose a little because I thought it was kind of the hotel to give me a free breakfast.

finding the hotel was not easy. Google maps took me to one of the other IBIS hotels, then I walked from one to the other and finally this hotel was at the most difficult to reach and pretty grim street. the room was reasonable.

« Clean, tidy and a good location »

After finding the correct Ibis in this neighbourhood, we were able to check in early, which we really appreciated after a night flight. The room was clean and tidy, bed and pillows so comfortable! We didn't have the breakfast or make use of the bar that was available. The hotel is in a good location for the river and a 20 minute walk to La Bourse. We would stay here again.

The hotel is conveniently situated for the train and tram and also has safe car parking facilities. We were only staying one night but found the facilities good and the hotel reception staff welcoming and friendly. « Good location near team and Train station, but room lacks space and facilities »

We like a room safe and fridge for storing medication. You could hardly get around the bed, the room was so small, the addition of a bedside table and desk made it more awkward and the obscure wall lamp that you kept banging your head on was rediculous. Staff were helpful, breakfast appeared to be using quality ingredients.

« Nice staff, but charmless and tiny room. Beware using a prepaid currency card to book! »

I was a bit disappointed with this hotel, as it wasn't as nice as the Best Western where I had stayed the previous week at a similar price, which had bigger room and much more charm. The bed was very comfy but the bathroom was tiny and a less slim person than me might have trouble squashing onto the toilet. Staff were very friendly, and breakfast was good.. My main complaint was that they took the deposit from my currency card (which I hadnt realised as they indicated they would only use this if I didn't show). When I came to check out they took another payment on top. I had to top up my card, wondering where all the money had gone. Four days later and I still havent received the payment back. Not impressed.!

Good location for bus and station. Rather small room and very cramped bathroom. I do have one major complaint. You took the deposit money from my currency prepayment card and have still not returned it. So my balance was too low to pay the bill. I had to recharge the card, wondering what had happened. Please don't do this again and please return my money ASAP. I have paid twice for the room which is not fair!
